Barnstar for you!
[edit]The Schools Barnstar | ||
It's good to see the new generation of Pirates stepping up to the plate to update the Port Charlotte High School article; I've been meaning to work on that as well as Charlotte High School, Lemon Bay High School, and North Port High School, (I don't hate the rivals anymore), but busy adult life has been keeping me from doing so. From a c/o 2010 Pirate. Go Pirates! PCHS-NJROTC (Messages)Have a blessed day. 01:04, 13 March 2021 (UTC) |
Hi there. When you added the shooting involving Kodak Black, at List of mass shootings in the United States in 2022, you put a number 2 in the city column, but there's no explanation in the article saying what these numbers mean. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 14:48, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
- The number represents how many shootings that meet the criteria to be put on the list have occurred in a city in a given year. If that number exceeds one, then the total should be noted to the right of the city name, and the first shooting should also have the number one put to the right of the city name (to signify it was the first of numerous in a city) Further down the list you'll see on January 9th a shooting occurred in Los Angeles that met the criteria of the list. With another shooting occurring in Los Angeles on February 12th, the second shooting was noted to be the second, and the first shooting was noted to be the first. --RaskBunzzz (talk) 17:57, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In your recent edit to Erling Haaland, you added links to an article which did not add content or meaning, or repeated the same link several times throughout the article. Please see Wikipedia's guideline on links to avoid overlinking. Thank you. TylerBurden (talk) 03:38, 22 March 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm TylerBurden. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Erling Haaland, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. TylerBurden (talk) 05:17, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
- I included sources and I just switched the order of his achievements to reflect the order in which they happened. Unlike last time I don't think I made a mistake in this instance. RaskBunzzz (talk) 23:35, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I think I misunderstood your edit. The sentence is very strangely written mixing up his premier league and champions league performances, so I thought you had added the champions league bit. TylerBurden (talk) 00:02, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
Username change?

- Thank you! I've been trying to take some time when I have it to search for any additional information which might be notable enough to include in the article. ~~ Raskuly (talk) 04:05, 12 September 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hi mate,
When updating football stats, please remember to also update the timestamp. Thanks! Telfordbuck (talk) 23:25, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- My bad. I forgot to do so this time. I will try to remember for future edits I may make on footballer's articles. Raskuly (talk) 10:49, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

Shootings articles and notability
[edit]Hi! I know it probably feels very frustrating to have written articles only for them to be taken away, as in the case of the two articles you wrote that I've nominated for deletion. However, in order to avoid similar frustration in the future, I would encourage you to thoroughly review WP:NEVENT; the standard for identifying whether or not an event merits an article is more complicated than the scale of its tragedy. Let me know if there's any more information you'd appreciate or any further explanation you believe I should provide. Best, ~ Pbritti (talk) 14:39, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- There are several articles about incidents that have been around for much longer that appear to suffer from similar issues to that of the 2024 North Las Vegas and 2024 Los Angeles County shootings articles. I was not really expecting the former to survive barring a good argument in favor of it from a more experienced editor than I, but the second article that you nominated for deletion was declined three times before it was permitted, and has been fine up until this point.
- Getting back to the other articles I mentioned, examples from last year include: 2023 Ybor City shooting, 2023 Chicago Halloween party shooting, 2023 Baltimore shooting, 2023 Doerman killings, and 2023 Annapolis shooting. Raskuly (talk) 17:56, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the AfC process does allow drafts that may not survive AfD to be published as articles. These other articles may see AfDs going forward (thanks for pointing them out!). I also want to ensure you understand that your contributions to the project are appreciated. Regardless of whether an article ultimately survives AfD, the good-faith creation of an article on a plausibly notable event is a positive contribution. ~ Pbritti (talk) 16:16, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- I understand. Admittedly the submission of the first article was done out of a bit of frustration since it seemed a bit silly for the LA County article to get declined twice before being permitted and allowed (until recently) to persist without issue. I have another article in draft that I've yet to submit yet, and I'm curious if you personally believe that it would stand a chance getting passed AfC let alone AfD. Raskuly (talk) 23:01, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- I'm a bit busy, so pardon the lack of depth in this reply. I see a good chance that this could qualify for an article: six fatalities is a significant number and the circumstances are unusual. However, I'm not seeing sustained, non-local coverage, which would characterize a sufficiently notable event. ~ Pbritti (talk) 00:17, 18 July 2024 (UTC)

For your remarkable work keeping the template for the map of US mass-shootings up-to-date. I don't know how it feels to be recognized for something like that, but it's something that needs to be done, and having the mental fortitude for that is worthy of recognition. Seriously incredible job. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 21:05, 22 September 2024 (UTC) |
- Thank you so much! I'm actually working on building a website about the prevalence of gun violence in the United States so I've also been contributing here while working on it because Wikipedia is actually a very great resource for compiling information–though sources must be checked of course.
