I have reviewed Planet Ladder, which you nominated as a good article, and found that, although it is better than most pages, it does not meet the good article criteria. You can see my review at Talk:Planet Ladder#GA fail once more, and if you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Have a nice day! --erachima talk 10:44, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Your second opinion and comments were very helpful. Pls give this article a critical review, before I renominate it. Thanks. --Nvineeth (talk) 08:27, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your suggestions, and words like "famous", "popular" stories should either be removed ( or attributed to a RS ), many thanks for pointing these out... Obviously, As a main editor, I am prone to miss out few things which you have correctly pointed out! --Nvineeth (talk) 06:42, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I think "famous", and "popular stories" should be adjoined with "in Bengal", because this poet is more famous than a noble laureate--Rabindranath Tagore.[1] Like this it will be more neutral. Thanks again. --Nvineeth (talk) 07:10, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

GA review

GA reviewed Earl Cain. Extremepro (talk) 09:22, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Copyedit

Wonder if you can copyedit Brave Story and list what to fix here. Thanks. Extremepro (talk) 07:32, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm not sure where to insert comments into the Brave Story talk page so will add them here for the time being. I've never read the novel but have seen the film a few times (with two different English subtitle translations and English dub). In the film, Wataru's father just walks out (says something about being fed up of working to support the family and not being appreciated etc.), you never see his mistress and there is never any argument between her and his mother, nor is there a car crash (Wataru comes home and finds his mother collapsed on the kitchen floor; I've seen people say she attempted suicide but it isn't clear to me). I don't know whether his father remarries; if he doesn't then "stepmother" is innacurate. There is also no third traveller in the film; Wataru becomes a traveller before meeting Mitsuru in Vision by completing a challenge, and they do not meet for some time. There is also no "crush" in the film and I cannot make sense of that sentence in the article (does he take note of Mitsuru because he sees him talking with Kaori?); the film starts with Wataru bumping into Mitsuru in the "haunted house" as he is returning from Vision and then recognises him the next day in school - he also first sees Mitsuru using magic in the haunted house. Shiroi Hane (talk) 09:02, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Uh. The plot section is for the novel's version because it is the first work of the series. The film version, which I haven't seen, is different from the manga and the novel's plot. So could you write a summary of the film's plot under the film section? Thanks. Extremepro (talk) 09:42, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
If it wasn't clear I was making the point both that I am not familiar with the novel's version of the story so can only comment based on what is written in the article in comparison to the storyline I am familiar with, and also that there is no mention in the article about the differences in the film's storyline. Shiroi Hane (talk) 13:13, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

<outdent> thank you for taking your time for copyediting Brave Story. Btw, refs in the infobox are generally frowned upon on. I would ref the magazines for Earl Cain in the Manga section. Extremepro (talk) 05:13, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

French review

French review for God Child here. Btw BD Gest is a project-endorsed site as per Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Online reliable sources. Happy reviewing! Extremepro (talk) 11:59, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Awesome! That makes three reviews to translate now. (I found two more at Manga News). Kaguya-chan (talk) 14:40, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
If your French isn't up to scratch, you can ask KrebMarkt (talk · contribs) to translate them for you. Extremepro (talk) 00:27, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
While my French is certainly not at KrebMarkt's level, I think for the reviews it will do. Just no fancy French text. :) Kaguya-chan (talk) 16:10, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Ode on a Grecian Urn

Thank you for your review. It was a joint project (the 6 odes by Keats), and this was one that I was not the primary. However, I did fix the problems you listed. I will probably go through and tighten references even further (print editions and not just online, to make it more academic) along with add a few things (such as a few more critical statements that add a little nuance but aren't essential, and a small add to themes to fill that in a little to add "balance" to the size of the sections. Ottava Rima (talk) 19:06, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

No problem. :) Great job on the article. Kaguya-chan (talk) 19:08, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Ha, you should have seen what I had to do to fix up Ode on Indolence. I nominated them as a set and forgot that I didn't go through three of them except to add a few details in the beginning. So, there was a little problem with some of the sourcing on that page. By the way, your user page quote of Alice in Wonderland cut my favorite quote just a tad short. I always try to end my rendition of it it with "I call it purring". :) Ottava Rima (talk) 19:11, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
I just went through and made some revisions to "Ode to a Nightingale". I forgot that the poem was an expansion of a stubbed version (with OR and copyright problems), and that I left a poem section in from the original. I replaced it with Harold Bloom's very thorough reading of the poem (which is one of the standard readings) and add a little in from Bate. The poem section should now allow someone reading the themes section to understand what they are reading. :) Ottava Rima (talk) 03:11, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Wonderful. :) The themes section makes a lot more sense now. Kaguya-chan (talk) 13:12, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for another great review. Have you thought about working with WP:POETRY? We always need active people and you seem to be able to pick up on things that others miss. Ottava Rima (talk) 17:00, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
I didn't know WP:POETRY existed. :) However, I have no idea how active I'll continue to be, since I'm going back to school very soon. Kaguya-chan (talk) 17:53, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Some comments

Hi,

I replaced your cover of Ludwig Revolution with a better version and added some French reviews links to assert its notability.

If you need some help for French don't hesitate i may be slow & procrastinating a lot but i eventually do it.

--KrebMarkt 15:30, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Awesome and thank you for your kind offer. (Translation is definitely not one of my few skills.) If it's not a bother and not too much work, would you mind translating some of the Ludwig Revolution reviews. Whenever you get to it is fine. And don't label yourself as slow & procrastinating. Translation is extremely difficult, especially for the direct quotes. Kaguya-chan (talk) 16:38, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi! I've incorporated your recommendations and suggestions into the text. Thank you for the review! Kathyrncelestewright (talk) 19:37, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

I've responded to your comments. Thanks for the review :). Malinaccier (talk) 21:47, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Second opinion about the GAN review - on plot, the plot is very excessive. There was a stray reference to "Origin of Species, Fertilisation of Orchids and The Age of Reason". However, these are all complex scientific works and not fantasy novels (well, The Age of Reason is arguably theological, but yeah). So, don't let people push you around on the matter. Ottava Rima (talk) 02:57, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for your opinion. :) Kaguya-chan (talk) 22:55, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Hi, Kaguya-chan, thanks for your comments in the GA review - honestly, as I know there was room for improvement but couldn't spot them as I'd been too close to the article fairly recently. In particular for your patience while we worked some rules for plot summaries for moderately long but plot-intensive works.
As I said in the review, I now feel that the "one size fits all" plot summaries is wrong. How would you feel about getting involved in a discussion about this at the Talk page of whichever guideline is most relevant - and which would that be? --Philcha (talk) 16:09, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Thank you. I would love to. :) And I think the revelvant talk page would be here. Looks like there was some discussion about plot summaries back in 2007. Kaguya-chan (talk) 16:32, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
OK. I've also invited Malinaccier. Before we go public, I think we should sketch out some ideas so that we have some sort of criteria (plus reason) for what type of plot summary fits kinds of work. This is not to stitch up the public discussion, its to give it some direction and to make people think before letting rip about how much they love / hate the current guideline.
Oops, I've just read Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Novels/Style_guidelines#Plot_summary_length, which seems quite pragmatic. However it refers to a tighter word count for plot summaries at Wikipedia:Plot_summaries#Length_of_plot_summaries - except that Wikipedia:Plot_summaries now redirects to Wikipedia:Plot-only description of fictional works, which currently does not contain a section "Length of plot summaries" and in fact was only created on 16 June 2009! However there was a "Length_of_plot_summaries". This starts with "Plot summaries have a tendency to grow past the recommended 300 to 500 word length" - recommended by whom, where? The rest of the section shows signs of fudging that suggest an uneasy compromise after an edit war. If you look at the history of Wikipedia:Plot-only description of fictional works, you'll see a few WP:NOTPLOT fanatics - and I'm prepared to defend the use of "fanatics" in public; one of them hardly ever contributes to fiction-related articles but plenty to discussions about WP:NOTPLOT, go figure. It might be interesting to check the history of Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Novels/Style_guidelines, we might even find a POV-fork somewhere in the construction of guidelines. Still fancy the snake-pit? --Philcha (talk) 17:19, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Hm. I can't say I like arguing very much, but there needs to be some kind of guideline for the novel plot summaries. I think WP:FILMPLOT's 400-700 words, not to exceed 900 words, is very reasonable. Looks like Length_of_plot_summaries was only an essay. Kaguya-chan (talk) 19:33, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
I prefer the pragmatism of Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Novels/Style_guidelines#Plot_summary_length - plot summaries should be concise, but sometimes unusually long plot summaries may be needed because there's a lot to explain. So I'd go for "plot summaries that exceed 900 words need to be discussed in Talk and review pages" rather than a blunt "not to exceed 900 words". It's not a simple function of the length of a work, as I said the Iliad has a relatively simple plot while the first 2 Harry Potter books have complex plots and one has to take account of the story arc over 7 books. We also need to consider works that are not plot-driven, especially if at first sight they appear plot-driven - e.g. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time looks like a detective story but is really about the autistic central character's learning to cope with having less understanding of others' thoughts and emotions than he has of theirs. So I think a good guideline on plot summaries pprobalby needs to starts with developig a list of categories of stories. --Philcha (talk) 22:28, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

I have renominated this article for GA. Thank you, CTJF83 chat 06:04, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Much improved since last time. :) However, it needs a bit of copy editing. Kaguya-chan (talk) 18:08, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Lead:

  • The lead is supposed to sum up the entire article.

Plot:

  • "The horse ends up dying of a fatal heart attack and Peter disposes of the body by flinging it into a pharmacy owned by Mort Goldman, the Griffins are indebted for the damages." (Heart attacks causing death are usually fatal.) Are the Griffins indebted to Mort because Peter threw the horse into his pharmacy?
For the lead I added a note on cultural references (not sure if there was more you wanted me to add) and clarified the damages were to the race track. Do you wanna copy this to the official GA page? CTJF83 chat 18:33, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
No, since these are just my suggestions and not an actual GA review. Kaguya-chan (talk) 22:45, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

For taking part of the First Animanga unsourced BLP clean-up drive. The clean-up continues now from Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Unreferenced BLPs. Thanks for your contributions. --KrebMarkt 07:41, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

I wasn't necessarily referring to there being too many issues to mention, but rather that the issues were severe and systemic. Aside from the issues I mentioned, the biggest problem is clunky prose and groupings of one or two sentences that aren't really paragraphs—these should probably be merged where applicable, otherwise expanded or cut. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 11:48, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:32, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Yikes. Darn GAN is *always* backlogged. Well, enough complaining from me; it's time for me to do some reviewing. Kaguya-chan (talk) 22:35, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I've been trying to help as well, but giving quality reviews, being a voice of reason in the WP:DRAMA, having a semblance of a real life, and actually writing articles is pretty hard to balance.
If I could make a suggestion, in addition to reviewing older pages, an excellent way to reduce the average wait time is to check new submissions to see if they're quickfailure-worthy. No reason to make an editor wait five weeks to find out that he shouldn't have submitted the page in the first place, after all. --erachima talk 22:52, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Balancing all that does sound fairly tricky...especially with all the drama... Okay, I'll remember to check new articles for the quick-fail criteria. It slipped my mind last time I reviewed. ^.^ Kaguya-chan (talk) 23:50, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you and very nice to meet you too! ^_^ It's always nice to find a Silent Hill fan. You're probably right about Angela's death (seeing as she's suicidal and fire is rather deadly), but she walks off-screen and because her death is not shown, that makes it very hard to confirm. Especially in the magical land of Silent Hill where reality is often subjective. And yes, I believe that Cybil survived, but not James. He was too destroyed by his suffering to continue to live. Loveless Manga

Alright, I see your argument, but then again, why not add in the other chapters as well? DarkXWeatherX (talk) 01:58, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Alright, just tell me a bit of information on doing that, like spacing and what not, and I'll add the chapters for the second and third volumes. DarkXWeatherX (talk) 20:46, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

That's a bit....Difficult... DarkXWeatherX (talk) 22:43, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Would it help if I just tell you the chapters to add? I'm rather stumped... DarkXWeatherX (talk) 02:05, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Okay, Volume 2, is chapters 1-5, That's what it said in the inside chapter listing, Volume 3 has chapters 6-13, and keep in mind, these are from United States releases, so results may vary... DarkXWeatherX (talk) 22:58, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! DarkXWeatherX (talk) 21:20, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Yoani Sánchez

Thanks so much for your helpful comments and suggestions on the Yoani Sánchez GA review. How close are we to completion? It's my first GA, so I'm rather excited about it. You can respond here, I've got your talk page on my watchlist...and I'm supposed to be on vacation...but just had to check to see how close we might be! Thanks! Dreadstar 21:47, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

No problem. Ahh, the first GA review. I remember my first...it failed, mostly because I was a newcomer. Then two years later I got it to pass... I was very stubborn. ^.^ Anyway, I think it's very close to passing. Refs 6, 10, 22, 35, 37, 67, and 68 still need to be consistent date-wise. Ref 57 could also use a cite web. Also sometimes you call the Generation Y by its Spanish name (ref 7). But if you're on vacation, you should be taking a break from editing! Enjoy your vacation! Kaguya-chan (talk) 20:25, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Yes, indeed, my first time.. /blush! I think it's even more important than my vacation, so I'll make those updates and see where we are! Thanks Kaguya-chan! Dreadstar 21:32, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I think I got the last of them (hopefully!), and I rewrote the double-quote section a bit, reducing to a single quote. Check it out and let me know what you think! And thanks so much for the excellent and detailed responses. Mine eyes doth grow old and weary...and needeth all the help they can get!  :) Dreadstar 22:22, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
I really like the changes. Excellent job on the article! Now go forth and enjoyth thy vacation time. ^.^ Kaguya-chan (talk) 20:15, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your kind words. Kaguya-chan (talk) 20:43, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the clean up on SH2.

I was surprised when it was revealed that James disappeared in Silent Hill. Go figure that he never turned himself in to the police for killing Mary. I guess he either went into hiding or crashed his car into Toluca Lake. I doubt he left Silent Hill with Maria after going through all the trouble to find Mary. I'd like to believe that the Leave ending is the canon ending but I admit I can't explain how James would convince Laura to leave Silent Hill with him after she told him that she hated him and called him a killer. --72.186.99.244 (talk) 18:49, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

I couldn't understand that ending either since it was so out-of-character for Laura to begin a new life with the man who murdered her hospital friend. While Leave's the only happy ending to the game (meaning that he follows Mary's wish to live the rest of his life in happiness), it's also the one puzzled me the most. Why Laura and not Angela? To me, Laura seems to act as the embodiment of his guilt (along with Pyramid Head); she isn't seen again after James' confession to her, unless you count Leave. Kaguya-chan (talk) 20:01, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Well, the Lost Book of Memories stated that Laura is real. I do believe that James survived. Anyway, thanks for the reply and have a good life. --72.186.99.199 (talk) 19:14, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Origins, eh? I won't lie, I was seriously considering trying to get that up to GA-standards (there's a list of things that need to be fixed before GAN: messy gameplay section, half-sourced plot, screen-shot needed, general copy-edit, etc). Not to mention it would make a lovely set with all the other GA SH articles... Can't say I can work on Origins right away, since I'm trying to get 12 Days up to GA-standards, but once that's nominated, I'd love to help out with Origins. Kaguya-chan (talk) 20:01, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Yes, you are right, it would be a nice set with the other GA articles. I also thought of this some time ago ;) When you finish with the other article you can help me with Origins. I played it about 2 months ago and it wasn't as good as the first 3 games. It wasn't bad, but the first 3 were works of art I think. SH4 doesn't have very dark environments and there isn't even a flashlight or radio in the inventory and there's more combat and almost no riddles, but I think it's better than Origins. I'm waiting for your opinion on my suggestion at the SH talk page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Golden Sugarplum (talkcontribs) 03:11, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Personally, I loved SH4 (dear sweet Eileen who didn't complain even though she had a limp, numbers carved into her back, and was practically beaten to death) and thought Origins was alright, though nothing especially compelling. SH2 will always be my favorite, however. Kaguya-chan (talk) 20:16, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Silent Hill plot trimming

Trimming done. The result is a mix of mine and your suggestions. The word "flee" in the endings' paragraph is maybe wrong (the noun is flee or fleeing?). If you find anything else that's unnecessary delete it or tell me to do it. Now Kaufmann's alliance with Dahlia should be added and I think the plot section will be done. Questions

Is it correct to say "Alchemilla" instead of "Alchemilla Hospital" after the first time the phrase "Alchemilla Hospital" is mentioned (to reduce the number of words)?

eg. she nursed Alessa when she was secretly hospitalized in Alchemilla.

And the word hospitalized could be replaced with another word that I don't remember, that means "to become an inmate at a hospital, institute etc". I think it begins with an i (inserted?). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Golden Sugarplum (talkcontribs) 02:30, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, it's perfectly fine to say "Alchemilla" the second time around. Hospitalized is accurate for what happened to Alessa, so personally I would keep the wording. Are you thinking of institutionalized? That's less specific and could refer to a lot of things. Kaguya-chan (talk) 12:19, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Hospitalized isn't entirely correct, since it was more like she was being imprisoned and tortured there. The medical care was only a side thing. And technically, she was never an official patient. She was reported dead and locked up in the basement. Personally, I think it would be better to say that she was "kept in the basement of Alchemilla Hospital".Yomiel (talk) 12:34, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

You can be hospitalized against your will in many countries. But your wording works just fine too. Kaguya-chan (talk) 12:37, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

I just think it works best, given the circumstances. And there's a difference between being hospitalized when you don't want to be and being imprisoned and tortured in the basement of a hospital you are technically not even registered as a patient in.Yomiel (talk) 12:52, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I could see that. Kaguya-chan (talk) 12:57, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Characters of Silent Hill 2

The Book of Lost Memories and Gamasutra are sure reliable sources, the other 2 I have no idea if they are, but if they do, you're more than welcome to remove the 2 templates (one on "Characters of Silent Hill 2" and another one on "List of Silent Hill characters") and expand the article. Would it be easy for you to give me links to the sources I'm not sure of? Character articles should include info on the design process (pictures of early sketches and concepts would be great), voice acting (I guess a sound sample would be too much, maybe, I don't know), critical reception, legacy and related merchandise (an action figurine of James with 2 nurses has been released, but I think it's the only SH2 tie-in product ever released). You could use "Characters of Halo" as a model.

What about Origins? Lenin and McCarthy said on its talk page that he/she had found 1 or 2 sources revealing similarities between Pyramid Head and Butcher, but I think they're unreliable. Now I've finished school, so I have more spare time, so if you need help with the SH2 character list or Origins give me a ring. Golden Sugarplum (talk) 11:35, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

If it's included in the European version, then it's indeed reliable. I have no idea about the site Well Played is on. Pyramid Head's article needs pictures, apart from the general clean-up. Golden Sugarplum (talk) 05:13, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Sure, I'm willing to help with anything that has to do with Silent Hill. I've already done some cleanup to the PH article. I had checked Well Played from the first time you mentioned it and I suspect the site it's posted on isn't reliable. I found this that has lots of early Pyramid Head sketches: http://silenthill.wikia.com/wiki/Pyramid_Head. Wikias are unreliable, but they have pictures, and this one has many from all the games in the series.

What does ICO stand for? You mentioned it in your last post. Golden Sugarplum (talk) 01:57, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

I have no idea if the pictures are from an artbook, but the Silent Hill wiki says they're drawn by Masahiro Ito, who designed the monsters of SH2 and SH3 (maybe monsters of other SH games too, I don't know). I know Ico. I haven't played it, but I've heard of it years ago. I've made some articles of Team Silent members candidates for deletion, since they aren't notable enough.

Right now you seem to be working on a manga article, I checked your contributions. What about Origins? I'm bored to work alone on it, because it'd take ages to find sources and pictures without logos on them to expand it. :) Golden Sugarplum (talk) 00:50, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

One of the reasons they didn't make it a FA is, probably, the fact that references don't mention the publisher, for example Metacritic's is CBS Interactive. I'll start adding publishers to the sources. The only featured SH article is SH4, another one would be just nice. Golden Sugarplum (talk) 05:06, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Addition of publishers done. It took me more than an hour and it became really boring after a while. Now one step closer to becoming a FA. Did you request a copy-edit? Now what? Proposals? Golden Sugarplum (talk) 10:11, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

Alert!!! Yomiel returned as an IP and messed up SH1 and SH2 character list and edited Earl Cain. I already reverted the edits to SH1 and SH2 character list 3 times, but can't do it a 4th, because I'll breach 3RR. I didn't revert Earl Cain because I have absolutely no knowledge on this manga, so can't judge if the edits are good or bad. Golden Sugarplum (talk) 08:56, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

The IP's been blocked. Found the same early PH sketches I had found on Silent Hill wikia on Neoseeker, a video game site which I don't know if it's reliable. I searched Wikipedia's list of video game-related sources and I'm not pretty sure if it is. Check it out, the sources are listed alphabetically (search the middle column at the beginning of "N"). Golden Sugarplum (talk) 03:25, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

Did you check the site? Also, I would appreciate it if you'd give your opinion on a Silent Hill-related article I proposed for deletion: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Suguru Murakoshi. Golden Sugarplum (talk) 21:41, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

Well, there is an innocent kid like Laura in every SH game: SH1=Alessa/Cheryl, SH2=Laura, SH3=Alessa/Cheryl, SH4=child Walter, SHO=Alessa, SHH=Joshua, SSM=Cheryl; also, four of the games revolve around a man searching for a kid: SH1, SHO, SHH, SSM. About James and Maria's picture, yes, you're probably right. I'll finish fixing the references in PH. I believe you have PH, SH2, and SH2 character list in your watchlist? Golden Sugarplum (talk) 13:33, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Further comments have appeared on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Silent Hill monsters. You are welcome to participate and present links to the sources you mentioned. Golden Sugarplum (talk) 21:03, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Yes, but the reviews need to cover the subject in depth. I'll check them and see if they do. Golden Sugarplum (talk) 21:19, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

They do provide some coverage on SH2's monsters, but just on these, not on monsters from other installments. You could see reviews of other SH games to see if they adequately cover the monsters from other installments too. Golden Sugarplum (talk) 21:55, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

SH2 character list needs more third-party coverage; I've noticed today that there are very few references to different third-party reliable sources. Most third-party coverage is by IGN; the only other third-party coverage is one citation for each of the following sites: Eurogamer, Game Revolution, GameZone and GameSpot. Golden Sugarplum (talk) 20:14, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

The article's title must be changed, because it doesn't reflect its purpose, which isn't to just list the series' characters, like "List of countries by population" or "List of countries by GDP" do to countries, but provide info on them. I believe "Characters of Silent Hill" or "Characters in the Silent Hill series" are better. What do you say? Golden Sugarplum (talk) 20:14, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Pyramid Head

I've just finished with the references for good. May I suggest this picture for the "Design and characteristics" section? It ties good with the concept of a monster with a hidden face, which is mentioned in the section, as it shows two different depictions of PH's concealed face, plus it shows an idea rejected by Ito (the left part). Golden Sugarplum (talk) 00:17, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

Noticed that reference 23 links to an article which doesn't have the title "Bad Career Move: Video Game Characters' Worst Moments" and I can't find any mention of PH in the article. Is the matter with the PH concept art OK now that its size has been reduced? Also, did you request a copy edit, as you said? If you need any help, tell me. Hula Hup (talk) 00:56, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

Now I'm really starting to believe that we can read each other's mind, sometime ago you said that I had read your mind when I said that PH's references needed to show the publisher, now I see the reverse happening! For the last days I've been thinking about telling you for a "Merchandise" section on PH and intended to give you the same links I gave on the discussion on List of Silent Hill monsters: [5] and [6]. According to WKP:VG, such a section should be included "if the likeness of the character has been used extensively on merchandise and marketing material." If this figurine is the only one, then I'm afraid it's not enough to include the section. I'll do some more search to see if others exist. The same applies to the SH2 character list; if the figurine of James and the nurse is the only depicting a SH2 character, then such a section can't be included on this one too.

About PH, I think these are left before requesting a copy-edit:

  • Citations should be added in the "Silent Hill 2" sub-section of the "Appearances" section as there aren't any at all.
  • Phrases like "GameSpot compared" in the "Reception and legacy" section should be substituted with phrases like "a reviewer for GameSpot compared" or "X of GameSpot compared".
  • Another image would be a good idea; maybe one in the "Reception and legacy" section, showing PH in SH2 and with a caption like: "Pyramid Head is widely considered to be one of the most terrifying video game monsters and the mascot of the Silent Hill series, by critics".

Absolutely right about the picture. Yes, I know they're meant to say what words can't, I read it when I was getting ready to upload the concept art. Isn't placing a correctly filled out fair-use rationale, a correct tag, and resizing the picture if it's too big, enough for a pic to be kept (and relevance to the article, of course)?
