Information icon Hello, I'm Boyinaroom. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Sacred Valley—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Boyinaroom (talk) 11:30, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Boyinaroom Hi, I reverted the edits because they were unexplained changes and often just plain inaccurate. Please let me know if I made a mistake. Randomdude121 (talk) 11:33, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It was my mistake. I reverted your edit in place of Ip's edit. Sorry for inconvenience. Boyinaroom (talk) 11:48, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Feelie

[edit]

What is wrong with the edit? It uses the standard {{about}} disambiguation hatnote, and describes what the article is. Feelie, a video game physical extra.

Hi, the edit seemed quite similar to an unexplained test removal by a random user. You can put the edit back if you want, I think I'll let someone more experienced handle that. Thanks! randomdude121 (leave a message) 16:24, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Apology

[edit]

I am sorry for not adequately explaining my changes to the India worker party edit. I dont know if you have read the humorous article on here about how you should put lobster on every page? Well i did that then felt bad and changed it back, but i may have, by accident, deleted something. Thank you for fixing it! Cheers 99.28.51.225 (talk) 15:16, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@99.28.51.225 Appreciate the apology. On a sidenote, if that article's on this wiki, could you link to it? randomdude121 (leave a message!) 15:18, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Automatically putting my own edit count

[edit]

On my user page, I have a couple of service award templates, in which I usually update the edit count manually. Is there a way to automate that/is there a template/function to do that? randomdude121 (leave a message!) 12:13, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately those counts have to be manually updated. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 12:35, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see, thanks for a fast response. randomdude121 (leave a message!) 12:39, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fake history alert

[edit]

I belong to Nankudi Vellalar and I am unbale to understand why you're adding information without evidence linking Nankudi Vellalar with Thevar / Maravar because they have the similar Kilai system. We’re part of greater Vellalar community. Vellalars are genetically and ethnically way different from maravars. The similar matrilineal kilai system is also followed by other Vellalars and Nairs. At no point in history, Nankudi Vellalars are linked to Thevar / Maravar. We are landowning aristocracy while maravars are labourers and watchmen. In nearly 500 years of history, never found any evidence that they were derived from Thevar / Maravar. We marry with other Vellalar subcastes instead of maravars Please don't insert any random information without evidence and it will not do any good to the Nankudi Vella In fact, until 1985, Nankudi Vellalars were legally Forward Caste people with the term Vellalas. It was MGR who helped change the Forward caste to Backward status. Is there any benefit of linking them to Thevar/Maravar other than causing confusion. Thanks a lot. 2409:40F4:2003:9A12:10E1:5F7E:FF:2A0D (talk) 03:03, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, if you look at the page history, you'll see that I wasn't the one who added the information. If you have a valid reason for deletion of content, you can mention it in the edit summary. That way, it likely won't be perceived as vandalism as much. Thanks! randomdude121 (leave a message!) 10:38, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

+rollback

[edit]

Hi Randomdude121,

After reviewing your request, I have added your account to the rollback group. Keep in mind these things when using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Users should be informed (or warned) after their edits have been reverted. If warnings repeatedly don't help, WP:ANI is the default place to go. In cases of very clear ongoing intentional damage to the encyclopedia, WP:AIV can be used.
  • Reverting someone's edits may confuse or upset them. Whenever other users message you on your talk page, please take the time to respond to their concerns; accountability is important. For most users who message you, the tone and quality of your answer will permanently influence their opinion about Wikipedia in general.
  • Because the plain default rollback link does not provide any explanatory edit summary, it must not be used to revert good faith contributions, even if these contributions are disruptive. Take the time to write a proper summary whenever you're dealing with a lack of neutrality or verifiability; a short explanation like "[[WP:NPOV|not neutral]]" or "[[WP:INTREF|Please provide a citation]]" is helpful.
  • Rollback may never be used to edit war, which you'll notice to be surprisingly tempting in genuine content disputes. Please especially keep the three-revert rule in mind. If you see others edit warring, please file a report at WP:ANEW. The most helpful essay I've ever seen is WP:DISCFAIL; it is especially important for those who review content regularly.
  • If you encounter private information or threats of physical harm during your patrols, please quickly use Special:EmailUser/Oversight or Special:EmailUser/Emergency; ideally bookmark these pages now. See WP:OS and WP:EMERGENCY for details. If you're regularly patrolling recent changes, you will need both contacts sooner or later, and you'll be happy about the bookmarks.

To try rollback for the first time, you may like to make an edit to WP:Sandbox, and another one, and another one, and then revert the row with one click. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about rollback. Thank you for your time and work in cleaning up Wikipedia. Happy editing!

Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:53, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Help

[edit]

I think you've blocked my account. The part I cut out of the article was violating Wikipedia rules. I tried to rewrite the article in my notepad and paste it there, but it didn't work due to network problems. But I fixed it in a while and now I see that my account has been blocked for a few days. MD Sahib (talk) 13:56, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was using Huggle and it showed me a single edit of yours which I reverted, but unknowingly that action reverted all other combined edits as well. So to avoid any confusion, I undid what I did. I am not an admin and so don't have the privileges to block. I believe you can place {{unblock|reason=Your reason here}} on your talk page to appeal a block. randomdude121 (leave a message!) 13:59, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know if this is what's written on my account.
" Suggested edits are paused until Jan 4, 2025. Sorry MD Sahib, some of your recent contributions have been reverted."
If this is because of that problem then it's bad because I didn't have time to fix it. It was because of network problem that I couldn't submit it. But I fixed it immediately so why is this happening? MD Sahib (talk) 14:05, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The logs show that there was some image suggestion reviewing done, so perhaps that might have something to do with it? For more information, post your question on your talk page, type {{Help me}} on the top and someone experienced can help. randomdude121 (leave a message!) 14:15, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That means you can't do anything for me here and you're not involved in it. MD Sahib (talk) 14:58, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. By the way, {{Help me}} has to be written exactly to trigger the help system. Randomdude121‎‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ 16:09, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
