Welcome to the club
And a club this is, not a tea party...so take off the white gloves and have your say.
Thank you for smoking!
Sincerely, the proprietor
- I'm disgruntled, in particular over what has been happening to Giano. [1] [2] [3] [4]. What is everybody going to do about it ? dab (ᛏ) 13:11, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
- So am I dab...so am I. But while Giano and Geogre provide us with (further) reasons to be disgruntled, they also provide us with examples of what to do. They don't retreat, they FIGHT! They tell the bastards just where they can get off, and so must we. You too, have the right idea by publically expressing your support for them and outrage against their assailants. It is important for us disgruntled Wikipedians not only to let one another know that we are not alone, but that there's no need to worry about Big Bro looking over your shoulder, when we've got your back. And thank you for your kind endorsements of this new establishment. --Your mysterious proprietor.
- The community should ensure that the environment here does not get vitiated to force the valuable contributors like Giano to feel disappointed: the real contributors add value to the Project. I do not "smoke", but in a smoke-filled room I am feeling fresh. Thank you dear proprietor, but I will not pay for using the facilities provided by you! --Bhadani 14:56, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
- Greetings Bhadani! Resolved- A community of writers should be run by and for the writers, NOT the janitors. They lack both the judgement to make good editorial decisions AND MORAL AUTHORITY to police a community of writers. Your presence here is fee enough my friend...should the smoke start to bother you, Oxygen masks will be provided:) --Your mysterious proprietor.
ALERT! TO ARMS!
The Committee of Public Safety has reopened the Giano case[5] in an attempt to punish him for posting the sacred IRC logs and to ensure he stays away from Wikipedia. Your input on this is strongly welcomed and encouraged. If they can reopen a cold case just to go after him in an ex post facto manner, then none of us here is safe! Thank you for your time--R.D.H. Dear members,
John Reid is being made a scapegoat in the Giano Arbitration fiasco case. I feel this is not only highly unjust but a petty, vindictive attempt to try and discourage dissent against the power structure here. First, John was only marginally involved in the case. Second, his comments are far from being the worst breaches of civility or WP:Point. That honor must go to several ex-arbcomm members and their supporters, one of whom the AC even saw fit to officially thank. If any now reading (or Reiding:) this, thinks it wrong, then join John and me in a week long vacation from Wikipedia. Also, please make sure to make clear WHY you are on break...mention/link to the case in your away messages. Those of you who wish to stay, I propose should go on a STRIKE. By all means work on your articles in your sandboxes or offline, but avoid any article edits unless absolutely necessary. Remember, we are only expendable cogs, if we allow ourselves to be treated as such.--R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 13:15, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Here are John's latest thoughts on the matter. I have never seen a better articulated statement from a disgruntled Wikipedian (even this one). If you have any doubts as to why we should support Mr. Reid, his statement should put them to rest. (typing of rest)Besides, as he so eloquently puts it, a vacation is a good thing;>.--R.D.H. Hi R.D.H., I'm well aware that talk page archives are not to be edited as long as the content is not changed. Maintenance tasks such as template substitution and repairing cross-namespace redirects still take place regularly on archive pages. Please aware that my recent edits to your archives are due to the following reasons:
- Encyclopedia Dramatica links are being delinked due to this ruling by the Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee and they must be disabled prior to blacklisting.
- You were keeping your archives in the wrong namespace (Talk:* instead of User_talk:*). so I've just moved them for you and deleted the left-over redirects, and I've repaired the obvious dangling links for you.
Thanks. -- Netsnipe ► 18:27, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- While I appreciate your corrections and find your edits far better than the earlier one made by one of the arbitrors[6]. I still dislike tampering with an old and legitimate archive to comply with censorship and blacklisting. It runs contrary to everything this project and community supposedly stand for and I protest.--R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 19:24, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- You're not the only one protesting. -- Netsnipe ► 20:01, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

- No wait...Id be stunned into silence if Jimbo showed up here, gave Fred Bauder a gold watch, a pat on the back and a kick out the door.--R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 20:26, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
This isn't actually related to the "Breakfast Club"
But a thanks to RDH for the heads' up on Panarjedde. -- llywrch 23:00, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- Glad to help clear up this misunderstanding. And thank you, for the prompt and positive response. Such situations are rarely resolved in such a happy manner. Best regards,--R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 20:48, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Reality has become a commodity
Would some one please explain to me why Tim Pierce's inspired vandalism is acceptable, even blessed by Jimbo, while Stephen Colbert's is not? [7].
