Please stop

[edit]

You seem to be going from article to article attempting to improve the grammar and sentence structure, but most of your edits are not an improvement. Perhaps English is not your first language, but I'm cautioning you to please stop, as your edits are disruptive. Thanks for your understanding. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:14, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Seconding this. I've reverted some of your edits as they are not always grammatical (see edit summaries I have recorded against the reversions). Some of your edits are fine - this, for instance, puts capitalisation correct. This is fine, though I'm not sure why you would take the trouble to make a change like this, which does not alter the sense or make it easier to understand. Others are not constructive and I wonder whether you are trying to get to a specific edit count? Please slow down. If small copyedits are your main area of interest, you could try looking at the guild of copyeditors for guidance and links to article which need editing. I see you have received a Welcome post already, but I will post another here with some more links. Best wishes, Tacyarg (talk) 20:52, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Came back to give an example. In the article Three Fathers for Anna, you changed "with some location shooting taking place around Passau" to "with some shooting location took places around Passau". There are a couple of problems with this. Firstly, the correct phrase is "location shooting" and is wikilinked. You retained the wikilink but confused the phrase. "Some" is plural but "shooting location" is not, so this is not grammatical. Then you wrote "took places" which is not a phrase in English - the previous wording "took place" is correct. Looking at your other edits, I think if you took more time you could avoid these mistakes, but if you are not confident about English grammar, please stick to making other kinds of edits like factual ones or adding citations. I'm sure you can be a great contributor, but please do slow down and give editing more thought. The Teahouse is always a good place to ask if you want more specific advice.
