Editing other users' pages
[edit]Please do not edit other users' pages. It is very bad Wiktionary etiquette. Thanks. — Paul G 08:23, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- Partly my mistake - I should have said "Wikipedia". See the history of my user page. I was a long time ago, but I've only just noticed it. — Paul G 09:21, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- Apology accepted, thanks. Not to worry, I made my fair share of faux pas when I was a newbie too :) — Paul G 11:30, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Article Feedback deployment
[edit]Hey Pluke; I'm dropping you this note because you've used the article feedback tool in the last month or so. On Thursday and Friday the tool will be down for a major deployment; it should be up by Saturday, failing anything going wrong, and by Monday if something does :). Blender contribution
[edit]"Special effects for episode 6 of Red Dwarf season X, were created using blender.[47] The episode screened in 2012." I have visited the cited reference and found no direct mention the company used Blender on the associated production, not to say they did not, I am positive they did but can find no proof yet. Can you provide this information? If unable, the edit may need be removed as it is unable to be confirmed without statement from the publisher/production and at which point would become an opinion, not fact. Unfortunately, this is subject to WP:YESPOV and classified as opinion until a fact is presented. I will reword it as a suspision until a firm reference is cited.Kevintampa5 (talk) 02:27, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
Blender Contribution 2
[edit]That appears to be more appropriate, as well as the link I will post below, which leads to Ben Simonds blog page where he mentions this himself. If you would like to add to what is there, that is good. Otherwise I will do so when I get a little more free time.
- "Hi Kevin,
- This might be a more appropriate link: http://www.blendernation.com/2012/10/11/blender-used-for-red-dwarf/ Let me know on my talk page if possible."
http://bensimonds.com/tag/blender/ is Ben's portfolio blog. On a small side note, might I suggest making your edits in a chronological fashion. The newest entries usually are applied toward the bottom of the section it is being added. Yours was placed originally in between tags for 2010 and Blender's origin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevintampa5 (talk • contribs) 00:56, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for June 29
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Unparliamentary language, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page SNP (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Speedy deletion nomination of Meshroom
[edit]Hello Pluke,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Meshroom for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.
Govvy (talk) 13:57, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Meshroom until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.
Govvy (talk) 14:37, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
An article you recently created, Meshroom, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. – AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 02:53, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Meshroom
[edit]Hello, Pluke. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Meshroom".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 05:41, 1 October 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Re this. You need to look up original research on Wikipedia. Emails to Wikipedia editors are not reliable sources. There are several other problems with your revert, including the reinstatement of self-published sources for claims of a living person, in contravention of WP:BLPRS, and citing a source that has nothing to do with what it purportedly 'cites'. Urve (talk) 18:12, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Urve some of the references can be culled, maybe, but is anyone seriously questioning whether Chomsky appeared in episode 10?. The removal of this section seems a bit overkill. Could we focus on trimming the refs? Pluke (talk) 18:22, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- I have no particular reason to doubt Chomsky was there. Presumably one can just cite the actual episode instead of citing random Facebook posts and emails to Wikipedia editors and sources that don't even mention the subject. I have zero familiarity with the show so I won't be doing that; I edited the article for the sole purpose of removing its terrible sourcing, but my efforts were reverted. Urve (talk) 18:41, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Urve I've tried to tidy things up a bit. You're right, the sourcing was rather innappropriate, maybe flagging with Failed_verification or similar would be easier than dropping a whole section? Pluke (talk) 20:21, 16 March 2024 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Teachfirst.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Teachfirst.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:27, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
