Misunderstanding
I would like to apologise for my editing of William Hung. I could have sworn that I read from a legitimate site that he played a mentally retarded character. Unfortunately, as the website changes constantly, I could not find the source. Thank you for your time.
Mr. E 01 17:40, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- At first when I spotted "dim-witted" I did not see the context you were using it in however, it could have been a mistake on my part :P...there are occassions where I have made mistakes unfortunately. However, that edit might sound a bit point-of-viewish but it was not vandalism at all, so my apologies.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 17:44, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

non admin rollback and warning tools
With all the great work you do I thought I'd make like a lot easier for ya - so, I have added non admin rollback and warning tools for you. They really rock!
So, can you please clear your cache (hit CTRL-R) and then when you see some vandalism use the RED rollback link. This should rollback the edit but also open the vandals talk page (turn popups off if it doesnt) and, whats best is there you should see an extra tab at the top next to history and one press and they are warned! (you still get to choose the warning) - see if that works :) Let me know if you like! Glen 23:53, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- PS: If not your thing just say the word and Ill remove immediately... but that'll definitely not happen! :)' Enjoy!
- Oh, and you can also report to AIV with one click too :) If you like you'll have to come hang in #vandalism-en-wp now as well! :) Glen 00:13, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- lol just got your message - "This should rollback the edit but also open the vandals talk page (turn popups off if it doesnt)" - yes turn off popups for this site, will make like waaaaay easier! (and customises the warnings with the page name too) Glen 00:15, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- I apologise - I thought you meant browser popups (not lupins popups). So, popups are gone, but lupins vandalism tool remains (as you had that originally). And, of course, if you dont like just say the word (I wont be offended honest!) :) Glen 00:29, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- PS; you'll need to CTRL-R again —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Glen S (talk • contribs) 00:30, 17 December 2006 (UTC).
- Oh trust me I love it! I just want to make sure I'm aware of how to use it! The only problem that I am running into is that the user talk page does not appear automatically. It successfully displays a screen which shows various messages of how it is reverting the edit and then it shows the article once more. I had to go through the article history and press on the IP/username manually and press the tabs at the side to issue a warning. Anything that I might be doing wrong?¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 00:31, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, now thats what I meant when I was first talking about Popups - see Popups#Pop-up blocking. If you use the red rollback you should see a bar at the top of the window saying Pop-up blocked or whatever. Go into your preferences, and under content there should be an exception button (this is for Firefox but same for most others) and put wikipedia.org in (or click the link on the bar itself and do it from there). Does this make sense at all? Glen 00:37, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Dont apologise I was the goofball who gave you all these wee issues :) More than happy to help!! Now, are you sure you're looking at the latest diff? It normally only does that when looking at old ones (you can only rollback the latest) Glen 00:50, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- I think I caught problem, thanks for all your help!¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 00:54, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Small words of encouragment
Watching your vandal fighting efforts, and watching out for people's pages, and your civility makes me smile. Too often, when I'm vandal fighting, I get short tempered and leave snarky comments. Too often, in personal situations, I get upset and sarcastic. People aren't givng you barnstars and saying you're doing a great job to be polite...it's because you are. wat were you talking about. I didnt violate anything an the quran artcile page that isnt true. Critics do look at the quran to find wrong in it, they are so determined that they miss read and understand thngs.70.128.139.196 01:51, 21 December 2006 (UTC)wikiemedian
- Let me explain to you, your edit contained an unverifiable point of view. Wikipedia is a neutral point of view encyclopedia and you cannot edit in a point of view that the critics "look at the quran in the wrong way" when it is both unverifiable and is not a significant point of view. Each article must contain a fair balance of the significant point of views and not personal interpretations. Hope this helps.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 01:57, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi...I'm new here!
Hi! My name is Lavender and I'm new here. I like your page a lot. It's cool. I'm not really sure how to work this stuff here so I was wondering if you could help me out? Well thanks! --Lavender Potter 06:23, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- Sure I would be happy to help. I overlooked your contributions and would suggest that you take a look at some of the cont policy pages or How to edit a page. Try to avoid adding things that are original research and as far as your new page contributions, make sure that you are not duplicating articles which already exists as you did with Magical powers and Mortals (which were soon redirected to the appropriate articles). In response to your Help Desk question on how to "protect" a page from editing, regular contributors cannot protect pages on Wikipedia, only Administrators can. They are only protected in special cases, such as heavy vandalism or edit wars. If you have any other questions regarding editing Wikipedia feel free to leave another message.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 06:46, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Why do u say my article is advertising? Its my first f**ckn article and I just tried to explain what a gated community in south san diego was and who lived there and u 2 minutes later try to speedy delete it? thanks very much but check it and think.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Auburnknight (talk • contribs)
- The article is written in a very promotional tone, see Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. If you have any other questions feel free to leave another message. By the way it is not exactly a beneficial edit to your article to write: "Well persian girl I dont know why u say its advertising but Im only trying to explain what rolling hills ranch is and who live there. Thanks! :D". Do so on its talk page.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 20:32, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

so now ur like warning me? sorry but thats what Wikipedia its all about, if someone writes something that isnt right, u can change it to the real things or whatever so u dont dare to tell me to dont change something because its ok the way it is, now that u got that, why are u trying to threaten me? please really dont take this very serious Ill continue writing articles and correcting the ones that arent accurate, cause thats what wikipedia is for...—Preceding unsigned comment added by Auburnknight (talk • contribs)

- Hi, there's presently some debate now over whether demanding users to change usernames who are using non-Latin characters (like this Arabic name) is a good idea. Please avoid warning such users, especiallly if you are unable to see the text. Thanks !! Bastiq▼e demandez 22:28, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

- Nice to see you're good humored. Seeing the actual template, I notice you substed it and added custom text. The template itself seems OK. Thank you very much for your time! :-) Kim Bruning 22:32, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- Heh glad to hear there was nothing else more serious! I just realized that you were in issue with the custom reasoning about "non-Latin characters" and not the base message.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 22:34, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- To be honest, Persian, the policy still says that we can warn users for it, and Bastique is speaking his position in the issue. However, it's perfectly well legal for you to warn users about this until the time that policy changes. Also, I do like the template. -Patstuarttalk|edits 02:44, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'll leave it up to the administrators with how they interpret the non-Latin character usernames as appropriate or not. At the time I thought the least that is allowable would be to warn the user. However, I see that it is an issue at the moment so I might avoid warning users with these kind of names. I do appreciate you leaving these comments though.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 02:49, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- Just as a response to Patstuart, wikipedia does not work on the basis of a legal system, it works on the basis of consensus. The policy pages always lag behind the current consensus on a matter. Since the current consensus is fluid, it'd be very unwise to still warn people. Can you point out where it is still written that it's ok to issue warnings on this matter? Let's correct that. Kim Bruning 15:44, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Please be advised that I have made necessary revisions. Thanks for pointing that out...You are correct there were some innacuracies but they were immediately corrected. The logo however, is a visual representation of the term and is not considered "Rights managed". The reason for the multiple revisions was to make the page look visually cohesive and moreover correcting innacuracies. It would be much appreciated to come to a resolution by your constant revising of the page. Moreover , this is not a "joke" as it has been put. It is an expression of a term that is widely known. vandalism...with a reason!
hey, first of all, you don't have to tell me twice that what I did was vandalism...I was told 15 seconds after I did it (and golie that guy deserves a medal of something). Secondly, the reason I was "angry" and used "foul" language the way i did ( :( ) is because i couldnt find out how to add a line in the box that has "name", "Height", etc...
so, good work but no thanks...
but you could tell me how I can add stuff to boxes, I won;t vandilize anymore :P :^) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 62.150.105.88 (talk) 20:20, 27 December box cont¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 20:33, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- It is only customary to warn someone in light of new vandalism. However I see that you have stopped, which is a good thing (by the way I would recommend leaving comments for Gwernol on his talk page rather than user page next time). Anyways, to answer your question, most boxes come with certain parameters. The box you were editing did not allow the parameters you were inputting. Beat me to the punch!
You've got mighty fast fingers there, Persian Poet Gal ;) I thought I got my "reverts" in on Red Dawn but yours showed up, not mine. Is there a template or easier way to do reverts than the method I've been using (open history link for revert-to date, click edit, paste comment with "revert edits by XX to last version by ZZ due to vandalism")? --Snicker|¥
- Heh thanks for the complement. Yep there certainly are easier ways. Research into some anti vandal tools at this page or take a look at my monobook.js and monobook.css. Click on the edit button and copy and paste the coding in both your monobooks (just change the url from User:Persian Poet Gal/monobook.js to User:Snicker/monobook.js and do the same for your .css). If you have Internet Explorer refresh your browser cache by hitting Crtl+F5 on both monobooks, if you have another browser type it will usually tell you how to refresh your cache on your monobook pages. After that you will have a bunch of anti vandal tools! When you see vandalism and access a diff page, all you need to do is click the red rollback (vandal) button and it will revert the vandalism and open up their user talk page (make sure you request your popup blocker to allow popups while using www.wiki.x.io). Once on their talk page you can press the warning tabs at the top (t for test 1, t2 for test 2, etc.) and it will include the page they vandalized on, click Save page and you're done. If you have anymore questions about how to use them just ask me :).¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 22:58, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Thank you
Thank you for reverting 71.252.157.25's insult and vandalism on my talk page. I am currently trying to compromise with the user behind the IP on some edits on Radiohead as you can see talk page. Your help will be appreciated there as well.

The user behind the IP User:71.252.157.25 has a continuous jab against me, going and reverting my work and spoiling in my opinion nice edits, without explanation. He also use personal attacks against me, calling me "disgraceful blot on human race". I am writing a personal message to him, to restrain himself, but if this doesn't help, what can be done?

- I understand what you are saying but Wikipedia has guidelines to inclusion. Your website/podcast fails those because it is considered not notable enough to merit it a Wikipedia article. As far as testing how to create/edit things on Wikipedia consider taking a look at guidelines to writing your first article and testing your edits in the sandbox.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 21:42, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Please require users to read WP:BLP
When you warn a user about negative unsourced information in an article were WP:BLP applies, please use a BLP template like {{blp0}} so they see that requirement. Will (Talk - contribs) 22:26, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for recommending that template however I must differ with you in the cases of the Bill O'Reilly vandals. The very first one was obvious vandalism in my opinion if you take a look at the diff. The second one was still in my opinion blatant vandalism but I guess you could argue it to be in within the lines of the template you provided. I rarily revert information which is not indisputable vandalism (with the exceptions of RC patrol mistakes), I do however appreciate you signifying a template that might come in handy though. (from 24.8.75.101)
I recently added an external link to the Cat page for the origins of the cat. The article added was a paid work for hire by a professional writer and the pictures of the cat fossils on the page were taken at the Washington D.C history of natural museum. There is _nothing_ being sold on the page and the article is purely informative and provides facts not available on the main page. Based on your reason for removal, no articles college sites could be linked to either as the college is attempting to "sell" education.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.8.75.101 (talk • contribs)
- The link appeared somewhat questionable to me when I viewed the product tabs on the website (which are usually things you want to avoid adding as an external link). College websites are an exception if they are placed on an article about the college or website. However I recommend that you first request the addition of the link on Talk:Cat. If most editors agree that there is no problem with the link then by all means re-add it to the article. Hope this helps.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 20:14, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Quick Question
Hello, I've been RC patrolling recently, and have seen quite a few people removing warning templates. If they do, is there a template that will tell them not to do it? Should I report them to WP:AIV? Thanks for your help. --Tlim7882 00:40, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- If they have been blatant enough a vandal then it would not hurt to go ahead and report them. However its better to warn them the first time with a template like: {{subst:removewarn}}. If they continue to blank the warnings then request an administrator to semi-protect or fully protect their talk page depending on whether IPs or user accounts are blanking the page.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 00:47, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your guidance. This advice will come in handy, and I appreciate it. Tlim7882 00:49, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

- Aww, I just noticed that Michaelas10 had already given you the very same barnstar for the very same reason (and a long time ago, yikes). Well, I guess a second one won't harm. :-/ --Húsönd 03:00, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- First or second barnstar makes no difference, that is just very nice of you Husond :)! As far as what image editing software I use, I can't help but be a fan of good 'ol Adobe Photoshop. I'm lucky enough to have the Creative Suite version, one of the more premium versions offered by Adobe. Their more basic versions, like Adobe Photoshop Elements for example, are pretty well rounded but lack many of the goodies Creative Suite offers. In those cases a better value might be Paint Shop Pro but I hardly ever worked with it. Now I bet you others might chime about way more sophisticated software in terms of image editing; and to tell you the truth I'm not so much a tech junkie more like an artist who knows how to use her computer :P...but honestly I've always been satisfied with Adobe Photoshop over the years and wouldn't really trade it at the moment.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 05:15, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Reporting vandals
Hi. I was wandering about on User_talk:HighInBC - I was going to award a da Vinci Barnstar for the AIV bot but found you'd got there already so I took a look at your userpage when I saw the da Vinci award from you. Thus is Wikipedia … I saw your "How do I report vandalism?" link and wondered what you thought of this, which seems to say the same thing but in more detail. It seems I've already been linked to the German Wikipedia!
I tend to use it when I see good-faith reports of vandalism on WP:AIV that haven't been warned, or that are reports of IPs that haven't edited for a couple of weeks. What do you think? Might it be worth putting on a WP: namespace page somewhere? Tonywalton | Talk 22:25, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- Though WP:VANDAL#Dealing with vandalism and WP:CUV supposedly covers this area, your subpage gives some helpful nutshells of advice. Most likely the content merits a good WP essay. However before creating such an essay my only suggestions would be to expand it and add to its content in what that section of WP:VANDAL or WP:CUV lacks. If you create a real well thought out essay about the process in way that will help walk newbies through catching, dealing, and reporting vandalism; it would be a very nice addition to the namespace.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 23:40, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestions. Tonywalton | Talk 11:00, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

- Yes I believe it needs more time however, administrator Husond is encouraging a nomination by February. I am certainly honored by the support and may attempt the run for candidacy by then. I'm not really seeking the position but I feel that it would not hurt to oblige a nomination at least by then. I appreciate your good luck wishes and thank you for the comments.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 05:06, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Not going to accept? Oh well, may be better for you based on your schedule, I definitely would've supported you. I was atually going to nominate you myself but I'm busy with another rfa. Yeah, random comment, Just gve it due thought and apply when you're ready. --Wizardman 05:44, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- That is very kind of you I appreciate that :).¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 05:45, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Adoption
Yes, I would like to be adopted, if your RL or internet life won't interfere with it. --Umalee 23:12, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sure I wouldn't mind helping you out here and there :). If you have any questions feel free to contact, I'd be glad to help.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 05:07, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Vandal fighting
Would you like some tools to use for vandal fighting? Have a nice week and god bless. --Sir James Paul, La gloria è a dio 19:30, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well I do have both VandalProof (which is currently not working for me at the moment) and monobook tools so I'm still patrolling recent changes just fine. However I wouldn't mind to hear what you would suggest ;)...¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 19:32, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Great job vandal fighting!
Keep up the great work fighting off vandals! Be sure to remember to check the vandal's other recent contributions since they often vandalize more than one page at a time. Go get 'em! :) —Wknight94 (talk) 21:14, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the compliments, I'll try to keep up as best as I can.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 21:16, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Thank you!
Since you already have 6 RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstars (assuming I counted correctly) I thought you might enjoy one of these instead. Now you can travel in style, and it's filled with inert gas so you won't have to worry about this. Thank you for your hard work in fighting vandals, and especially for reporting them to WP:AIV before I was able to. Je via sano, Dar-Ape 21:17, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Wow a Zeppelin! I've never ridden in one of those before! Thank you ever so much...¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 21:19, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
So
So It will not be rendered accessible editing me of article "World War II"?? You know about perfectly it that it is made without no bases, So, editing of this article must be render accessible for me.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Mahal11 (talk • contribs)
- Let me explain Wikipedia's protection policy/semi protection policy to you. Any article is entirely warrented to be protected during periods of anonymous IP vandalism or heated edit wars. Threatening legal action in regards to anything on Wikipedia is not allowed and strictly prohibited. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 22:51, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Vandalism
I've just started my own anti-vandalism crusade after visiting your userpage...thanks for all the good work. Grillo7 23:43, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Glad I inspired you to do something good :)...¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 23:44, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

- Leaving? As in leaving Wikipedia? How come Sir james paul?¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 01:45, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
I'll stay
I'll stay but will not be as active. There still is a chance I will retire but not now. --Sir James Paul, La gloria è a dio 02:55, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Glad to hear that you will stick around...¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 03:01, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Help
Can you please join in the discussion on the following topics:
The reason I am asking you is that you are somehow related to the Mideast and probably know about the issues above. In Pakistan followers of Aga Khan are known as Aga Khanis but the followers apparently dont like the term. So I need input
trueblood 04:08, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I am not familiar with this term. I have a friend from Pakistan that I may be able to ask one of these days. Depending if she is not too busy with college and checks her email. If not, my apologies for not being to help.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 04:12, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Help
How about looking up Islamic Cults ?
trueblood 04:15, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Again, I must apologize but I really am not familiar with Islam unfortunately. I'm too Californianized for my own good. However as far as Persian culture, I might be able to help a bit more. But in regards to practicing the Muslim faith, I do not possess a strong enough knowledge of it.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 04:18, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, Gal!
That's a high honor coming from you:).NinaOdell | Talk 04:25, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Thank you
Thank you very much for reverting the vandalism to my user page! I didn't even see it before you caught it! Good job! J0lt C0la 17:45, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- No problem, glad to be of help...¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 17:46, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Help!
Salam!
During last month I worked on this article. I would like to invite you to see the article and comment on it, when you have time. Also a language check may be needed! I am not a native speaker and I want to bring the article to the level of a "good article" at least. Thanks in advance. Sina Kardar 19:37, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'll look over it to the best of my ability but I believe I brought this up to another user before that I unfortunately I'm not so familiar with Islam. When I have the time I will stop by and give it a read...¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 19:39, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- I just finished reading it and I believe it is excellently researched. The verbage however could use some fine tuning. The lead is a little pov-ish by saying "no understanding of historicity" maybe "does not adhere to the understanding of historicity" or something similar like that may be more neutral in tone. I also caught a few grammar and spelling errors, I corrected one but I'll leave the rest for you to peruse ;). All in all, the article is very elaborate and contains quite a bit of citations to back the content. You have my approval.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 19:56, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for reading the page. I have just corrected for the POV problem in the first paragraph. Thanks again :-) Sina Kardar 20:04, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Optimism
You said: "Though I am an optimistic person in real life...I practice none of it on Wikipedia, see this :P."
- Hey, the page survived 22 minutes and 38 seconds without being vandalised. Heh. If this keeps up, I'll probably semi-protect indefinitely. --Yamla 19:48, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Hey, I'm still kinda new to vandal fighting so I thought I'd ask you a question. Smallballs is the same user as Hellohoe...where exactly would I report this?--Mbc362 21:50, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well you could report it at WP:SSP however, his sockpuppetry seems minor at the moment and I would advise not to. What you can do is place the following tag on his page: {{sockpuppet|Hellohoe}} . The tag indicates that the user's contributions lead them to be suspected of sockpuppetry. If you have any other questions regarding the matter feel free to ask.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 21:54, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice.--Mbc362 21:59, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
(from Hemant1588)
I apologize. I was under the impression he had actually invented it. Thank you for the correction. I appreciate your dedication to the facts and only the facts. Austin!—Preceding unsigned comment added by Hemant1588 (talk • contribs)
- Just please discontinue the vandalism, thank you.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 22:27, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Re: your message
Thanks. I should be around for the next hour or two, so you can let me know if he comes back. Academic Challenger 23:09, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
