Help me!

[edit]

Please help me - I think that these two pages (below) should be combined, with the first one as the main page, and the second one redirecting to it.

  • Is it OK if I combine the text on the second page into the first so that the second one is empty except for a redirect?
  • After I've done that, am I able to do a redirect by just adding the first page as a hyperlink below the second (superseded) page title, is that how you do it? It is important to still have the second page.

These are two transliterations of the name of one Aboriginal tribe. The one starting with 'p' seems to be more modern and have official approval: http://glottolog.org/resource/reference/id/500712

1. http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Paakantyi

2. http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Barkindji

Let me know anything I should do. Sorry I'm so ignorant. Many thanks.

Merging the pages seems good to me. You should probably note in an edit summary where the content you add to the Paakantyi article is coming from. See WP:Redirect for help on redirects; in short, the code is #REDIRECT [[Paakantyi]]. You can also add the {{r from merge}} template to the redirect page to sort it; other than that and the redirect code itself it should be empty. Huon (talk) 09:31, 19 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
