Eyemouth branch
I restored the Eyemouth branch because the focus should be (and mostly is) on the line not the company Rsloch (talk) 10:40, 23 January 2012 (UTC).
- No - I have put botth articles back I as have left them. I suggest you look at various Historic Scottish Railway Company articles - for example Killin Railway, Aberlady, Gullane and North Berwick Railway, and many others. The template at the bottom of these articles will link you to many others. The articles are titled by the company who built the relevant line. The only time the word Branch is used is when one of the pre-grouping companies built the line - for example Hamilton branch. You have also put back incorrect links (i.e. the link to the 1947 OS Map). --Stewart (talk | edits) 12:55, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
- Excluding the lines I have dealt with here's ten Monkland and Kirkintilloch Railway, Slamannan Railway, Ballochney Railway, Edinburgh and Dalkeith Railway, Edinburgh Suburban and Southside Junction Railway, Glasgow and Milngavie Junction Railway, Glasgow, Yoker and Clydebank Railway, Invergarry and Fort Augustus Railway, West Highland Railway, and Caledonian Main Line that suggest otherwise. It is also how it is generally done in England and Wales. Rsloch (talk) 13:07, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
- Best place for this is Talk:Eyemouth Railway Company. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:03, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Eyemouth Railway
I've drawn a simple diagram for this line but you will probably wish to change some of the details. As an abstract point of interest it's the Henley Branch Line diagram put through a wringer. Britmax (talk) 20:42, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for this, it prompted me to put it into a template and add some details. Feel free to enhance. --Stewart (talk | edits) 20:48, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Template:Macmerry and Gifford Lines
Hi - I see that you have edited this template. Are you able to address my concerns as mentioned on the article's talk page? I realise that for a system that runs West-East, a vertical layout is a compromise, but as the Gifford line runs to the South of the Macmerry branch, it should be to the right on the template. You have also "lost" the link which ran South-West from Smeaton to Hardengreen Junction (on the Waverley Line). Cheers. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:00, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 16:39, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Cumbernauld
Hi, I see that at Cumbernauld railway station, you altered |original=Scottish Central Railway
to |original=Caledonian Railway
. The thing is, the SCR opened in 1848 (as did Cumbernauld station), but the SCR wasn't absorbed by the Caley until 1865. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:45, 1 February 2012 (UTC).
- However the Scottish Central Railway did not go south of Castlecary (Awdry, page101), as you would expect Awdry (page64) on the Caledonian Railway talks about the branch to Castlecary. Butt (page 74) claims Cumbernauld was opened by the SCR. RAILSCOT in the chronology of the CR has
"Castlecary Branch opened from Gartsherrie North Junction to Greenhill Lower Junction to meet the Scottish Central Railway."
on 7 August 1848, agreeing with Awdry. Based on this it is my understanding that the CR opened Cumbernauld not the SCR. --Stewart (talk | edits) 21:48, 1 February 2012 (UTC)- Mmm. OK, I have found that bit in Awdry. Curious that Butt (p. 74) gives the original company as "SCent". --Redrose64 (talk) 22:23, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Borders
I was looking to add some minor data to the pages for Bentpath, Chapelknowe, Steele_Road (all near Dumfries) and Kirkbridge (near Carlise) but although these pages are linked to from various places, the pages don't exist yet. I see you're actively editing in this area. Are there any plans to create those pages? 79.70.225.247 (talk) 09:10, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
- Or can you suggest someone else? 79.70.228.203 (talk) 18:50, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
- Not my area of interest. No idea who can help you. --Stewart (talk | edits) 19:10, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Reston railway station and others
Hi Pencefn, I noticed the Reston station case taken to Scottish Parliament, but I don't wish to start the Reston railway station article myself; what do you think? Reply here, please.
By the way, I eventually found a reference for the North Mound Tunnels electrification; see my talk page for details. Tim PF (talk) 09:07, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
- Currently away, so do not have access to Butt, etc but will try to get a stub article done in the next day or so. --Stewart (talk | edits) 09:42, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
- Done by Redrose64 (talk · contribs). Thanks --Stewart (talk | edits) 22:09, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, both. Tim PF (talk) 15:27, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
- I also note that East Linton railway station is also mentioned here, and the 2008 ECML RUS appears to indicate it has a better business case to get a train service, with calls from existing Edinburgh to Dunbar ScotRail trains. Somewhere, there's a proposed stations template as well. Tim PF (talk) 16:15, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
- Created - my 100th new article. Since it was never a junction, there was a lot less to write about. Any more that you'd like? --Redrose64 (talk) 00:23, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
- Well, if you insist ;-) Transport Scotland looked into (and rejected) re-opening Symington railway station as a Park & Ride station for Biggar as well as Beattock railway station (but also then rejected reopening East Linton and Reston stations). I cannot find anything more positive about re-opening proposals at the moment, but as the junction station for the former Symington, Biggar and Broughton Railway, it should be worth an article. - Possibly the forthcoming Easter break will provide the time for work between Carstairs and Carlisle filling in the gaps - between us I am sure Redrose64 (talk · contribs) and myself can make some inroads. Will be dark by the time I go through this evening, so no photos this time. --Stewart (talk | edits) 17:23, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Then why do the ferry and bus links appear in the RDT? Useddenim (talk) 21:41, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
Alexandra Park railway station
No problem. Althoough I did think that the Wilbraham Road footnote might give you a similar misunderstanding to the one I encountered at Fazakerly, when someone removed a hatnote because they did not realise that the station started life as Aintree. Just a thought. Britmax (talk) 12:59, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi, re this edit and this revert, this has very broad implications (not just on this one article), so please comment at Template talk:Reflist#Which is preferable: forced column width or forced number of columns? --Redrose64 (talk) 20:12, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
