An Invite to join the Highways WikiProject

[edit]
- - - - - - - - - - - - WikiProject Highways - - - - - - - - - - - -
Hi, Onur, you are graciously extended an invitation to join the International Highways WikiProject and its new regional taskforces! The Highways WikiProject is an evolving and expanding WikiProject. We are a group of editors who are dedicated to creating, revising, and expanding articles, lists, categories, and Wikiprojects, or anything related to International Roads. This includes supporting existing regional road WikiProjects and fostering the development of new international highway WikiProjects. We have recently created five regional task forces focused on Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and Latin America.

To improve road and highway articles, here are guidelines for B class criteria. Please add any higher GA, FA quality articles to the international roads portal. Also, please help out by inviting new or unfamiliar editors with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Highways/New articles/Invite template.

We look forward to welcoming you to the project!

Turkish lira

[edit]

From my talk page:

Do you think any official cites about TL "use" the pound sign? As from Turkey, WE DON'T USE IT! OnurT

Yeah, but not recent ones. If you didn't already, I'll edit it out and make a note on the talk page. If you can find any official source, that would be great, although obviously it's an informal practice and the banks use the three-letter codes. — LlywelynII 01:43, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging

[edit]

Hi Ont, you have tagged Datça Mersin highway for merging . But the article State road D400 (Turkey) is not tagged and I couln't find your rationale in the discussion pages of both articles. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 11:33, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Of course it is possible to merge two articles. But there must be consensus on the merge. Without a mutual understanding, the articles can't be merged. In this case, the two articles are not identical, while article State road D400 (Turkey) deals with the total highway from Datça to Esendere , Datça Mersin highway deals with the portion only up to Motorway. On the other hand, while Datça Mersin highway gives the distances from both ends in km and miles, State road D400 gives only km distances from Datça. (Please note that most of the English speaking world uses miles.) That is to say they don't cover each other and deleting one of the articles results in loss of information. (By the way in an English encyclopaedia it is preferable to communicate in English and please avoid using the pronoun sen even if you prefer Turkish.) Happy editting . Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 06:45, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ont. Because you participated in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of YouTube celebrities (4th nomination), your input is sought at Talk:List of YouTube personalities#RfC: The criteria for inclusion on List of YouTube personalities. There are disputes over who should be and who shouldn't be included in the list. Cunard (talk) 23:19, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Turkish Power Wrestling has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't meet WP:CORP.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nikki311 05:06, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Turkish help needed

[edit]

Hello Ont, I'm contacting you because we need some Turkish translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on tr.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Turkish Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 22:44, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Mabel Matiz has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 22:54, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:Antalya Glass Pyramid at night Feb2007.JPG or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! [edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Antalya, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sakarya. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:26, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hello, Onur

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username DoubleGrazing, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Heart of Antalya, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|DoubleGrazing}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!
