Unspecified source for Image:Westcotpainting.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Westcotpainting.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:55, 19 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 17:55, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Request for participation in Asperger FARC :
As a member of Wiki Aspergians, I hope you'll comment on the Asperger's FARC. I am voting to de-list, as I believe the article has taken a drastic POV shift toward pure pathology and away from the dual nature - talent+disability - articulated by the leading RS's of the field. I hope you'll vote whether you agree or not with my assessment :

Problem with your title template
Because of the donate message I think, all user pages have some white space between the pagename and the top of the page. As a result, your title template isn't working correctly anymore. I think this should be fixed untill the white space is removed again. Would you like to do it, or should I do it? Cheers, Face 11:40, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Westcotpainting.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Westcotpainting.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 08:35, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Remove speedy delete tag for James Adomian
This is a request for you undo the speedy delete for James Adomian. He is a notable comedian and Bush impressionist referenced on several other pages as such. The article you deleted in August 07 appears to be a good start that could benefit from other eyes at WikiProject Comedy. What say you? At least re-open vfd from 05? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blortock (talk • contribs) 01:25, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- I've undeleted the article. G4 requires that the article be pretty much the same as the version deleted at AFD - the version deleted last August was not even close. For this to be deleted again, it will have to meet another speedy criteria or have another AFD. Mr.Z-man 03:22, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
One, I see that you are an administrator and a member of the Nickelodeon project. I'm looking for an interested party who can reassess Blue's Clues, other than myself, who can reassess it. I've just completed re-vamping it, since it was Pretty Bad before I got my hands on it. As a matter of fact, it was So Bad, someone downgraded it to Start. Ouch! The current version, which I'm pretty much responsible for, is now (I believe) more deserving of a higher grade, at least a B. Could you please look at it and reassess it, if you feel so moved? Thank you for your assistance, and Happy Holidays. --Figureskatingfan (talk) 07:32, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for blocking Downwards
I think I speak for the whole basketball wiki community when I thank you for getting rid of him for a while. I understand he was a hard working editor, but he was a real jerk to people who were working in good faith. He obviously had some kind of inferiority complex where he had to impose his will on others. It was the condescending remarks that really got to me, his idea that he was the only one whose opinion mattered and even if he was wrong he should be held to a different standard than everyone else. I hope that the time off gives him a chance to mature and when he comes back he'll be grown up enough to act responsibly. Take care, happy new years KatoABJV (talk) 00:54, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I was going to oppose the block, since I don't see anything in his recent contributions to merit a six-month ban. You can't just ban someone out of the blue for things he did several months ago. I know Downwards can be stubborn about certain issues, but I think his tenacious vandal-fighting compensates for any edit-wars he might have participated in. Zagalejo^^^ 06:28, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- That's true, he is a hard working editor but look at his talk page. People constantly have problems with him and he does not address their concerns in a reasonable way. Usually just a surly comment as if he's the only one that knows the rules. If he's wrong he never apologizes and generally comes off as spiteful. I'm guessing you never had him accuse you of posting "rubbish" and summarily delete your work after posting a good-faith edit. I'm prettygood about citing things, but I notice that he would delete people's work demanding citations when a 2 second google search would vindicate the original posting. If he really cared about making wiki a better place he'd simply add in those citations. I think he just liked to delete people's work for the fun of it, why else would he get into these constant revert wars that led to his blocking? This is not the sign of a good or decent person. I hope when he comes back he can channel his energy in the right ways because all the time he spends on wiki could really be helpful.KatoABJV (talk) 18:12, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Halliburton logo.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:Halliburton logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 21:33, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Smlogo.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Smlogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:31, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Image for deletion
Hi, I've been looking through betacommands collection of images to be deleted (deadline tuesday) saving a few images of coins, banknotes, logos, stamps etc from destruction. I Don't have time for computer games & films but I used to play A-Train so I put a rudimentary fair use rationale here Image:ATrain-original-box-cover.jpg, I had a look at your talk and it seems BCB didn't notify you. I've commented about this type of thing on the bot talkpage on a couple of occasions only to be fobbed off or ignored. On Feb 12 the bot tagged 20+ of my images without notifying me. Just thought I'd let you know. Regards English peasant 00:46, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Tim Shell
An editor has nominated Tim Shell, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tim Shell (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 18:01, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Peace and Freedom Party.png
Thank you for uploading Image:Peace and Freedom Party.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. No worries
Hi One, You left an apology on my Talk page. Not necessary. You were right. I can't believe I did that. I know how it is when you are established in a cyber-place and you try to be nice to the newbies but sometimes you just snap. No worries, seriously. Sorry to hear your career is "winding down." Wikipedia needs all the help it can get.

Conflicts in Ming Dynasty
Hi, One. Could you please have a look at the article Ming Dynasty? I pasted a map, ming_1443.png, drawn by Sinomap Press, ISBN 7503103841. However there are some guys who don't agree with the position of Tibet in the map, even though I cited plenty of sources to prove that Tibet was in Ming China at that period. WikiProject Baseball Newsletter
The Baseball WikiProject Newsletter Issue I – July 2008 | |
This month's newsletter was designed and written by Wizardman, jj137, and Blackngold29. If you would like to contribute to future newsletters, please contact the Baseball WP outreach dept. |
Baseball has a history unlike any other sport. It has been played in countless countries throughout the decades, and it will undoubtedly continue play for many more. On this eve, some the finest players the sport has to offer will take the field at the Yankee Stadium. Four popes spoke there, Pelé scored goals there, "The Greatest [football] Game Ever Played" was battled out there, John Philip Sousa lead a band there, George Costanza worked there; but what do all these events have in common? They fail to reach the level of greatness that the baseball that was played there did. In 1923, a man named Babe Ruth decided to build a new house, and over the years, that house was a home to some of the greatest baseball ever played. If I were to list out all of these great moments, it would be longer than the bill for the New Yankee Stadium. So I'll sum it up by saying that we can remember these great moments by adding them to this place we've gathered at for future generations to read about, to learn about, to dream about; but more importantly we can watch tonight and we can remember how baseball is unlike anything else that we will encounter in our lives. — Blackngold29 |

WikiProject Nickelodeon Newsletter - September 2008
Nicktropolis a GA candidate The article Nicktropolis is currently a GA candidate. It was nominated on August 14, 2008, and, as of press, is still pending a review. You can review the article, just be neutral when you do. Here's the important links: |
New look You may have noticed some changes around the home page (and the newsletter). WP:NICK is getting a face lift, and so are most aspects of it. Jonathan and Macy are working on this so far, but we'd love your help! If our code has an issue, or you think a new bit of code will make it look better, feel free to work with it! |
Collaboration of the Month Our next collaboration depends on the pending GA review of Nicktropolis.
|
Archives We made a new page just so we can archive these newsletters. Go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Nickelodeon/Newsletter. I felt that was a bit lengthy, so I made a shortcut just for it. It's WP:NICK/NEWS. I created that so, if our delivery boy fails, you can still access the newsletter. |
Editor's note on the hiatus The newsletter went on hiatus for around 3 months because I took a wikibreak to get away from all the drama on Wikipedia. Let me tell you, though: I'm back, and I feel better than ever. So don't expect me to put the newsletter on hiatus for a long while. |
Kudos

WP:NICK Newsletter — October 2008
New homepage! We've redesigned the home page for (hopefully) the last time for a while. If you don't like the new design, the old page is archived here. To match the new design, the newsletter's format has also been redesigned. I hope you like it!
As the member list seems to have gone basically stale, I have removed all members from the list and moved the member list to a page that is transcluded onto the home page. Please DO NOT add your name to the homepage! Thanks! |
Sorry this issue is a bit late... Personal obligations have overtaken my Wikipedia time, and I haven't exactly had time to send out this issue. November's issue is coming soon. I promise. :-)
Every month, I choose an article that I think needs help, or is just plain interesting. This month's article is Nickelodeon Magazine. Nickelodeon Magazine's article needs help. There are no sources. I know, for this page, it's practically impossible to get it to a FA, but let's imagine we're trying to get it to FA status. That will be a motive for us to add sources, improve the writing, etc. Let's work on this article for the wellness of it! </pep talk>

In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

WP:NICK Newsletter — Holiday 2008
Holiday issue?! We know you're going to be busy this holiday seasons, from ordering iPods to unboxing them. So we've decided to combine two newsletters into one: the Nickelodeon WikiProject's Holiday Newsletter. Hope you enjoy it!
If you were a member of WP:NICK before the relaunch, please, please, please add your name to the member list! We need as much help as we can get! We currently have 5 members, down from a previous 40+. We know some of you are still here! |
Happy holidays! I hope all of you have a safe and fun holiday season, so get outside, enjoy the sunshine while it lasts! (in the Northern Hemisphere) For our Southern Hemisphere folks, get outside, and enjoy the sunshine, since it's spring/summer there!
We now have the answer on what to do with this long-lasting dispute. The community has decided to split the Nick.com section into its own article. For this reason, I have opened a sandbox here. Let's get moving so we can fix this quickly!
|
Slight layout changes We have made a few layout changes, some of which are temporary. You'll notice, compared to last month's issue, that there was an image in this column. It is now gone temporarily for the holiday (double) issue. Also, we have removed the box with the delivery notice to make it less flashy (and there were div issues, if you're techie).
Note: This is a double issue, so we will not have an article of the month this time around. Sorry! |
Brandt
Sorry about the whole Brandt mess. I failed your trust when I acted out of line. Yanksox (talk) 06:03, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Wikipedia:VAGINA listed at RfD
An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Wikipedia:VAGINA. Since you had some involvement with the Wikipedia:VAGINA redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Guyinblack25 talk 16:56, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Re: MyCoke
There was no significant benefit to keeping the article, how much impact did MyCoke have on the world? And how many people would go and look the article up for some inexplicable reason a day? The number of people using the thing is irrelevant, there are millions of people who watch television ads but we see no need for an article on each of them, they are inconsequential, much like MyCoke. If you feel we need the article, write it again and successfully assert some notability for it. Be bold, don't come to me crying over spilt milk. I'm sorry for the succinctness of my reply, I'm pressed for time right now, if you have any specific problems with my edits I'll reply to them when I get the chance. +Hexagon1 (t) 07:20, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
- All I was saying is that it really didn't deserve an article all to itself, a mention on a Coca-Cola page/subpage did the trick. I apologise if I was too forceful, but I really didn't know what you were after asking me such a question so much later. The prod was for me a way to give the article a little kick up the backside, to encourage improvement if there is any to be had and if there isn't, a way to put it out of its misery. Prods rarely succeed in deleting an article that is beyond simple non-sense, were I seriously committed to deleting the article, an AfD would have proven much more effective. A prod is a good way to test the receptiveness of the concerned editors to a proposed deletion. I don't even know what happened to the article, did my prod get it deleted or did it die later? +Hexagon1 (t) 15:36, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
I wanted to know what was your rationale behind closing the debate as keep. LeaveSleaves 12:51, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Lode Runner 2.png)
Thanks for uploading File:Lode Runner 2.png.
Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:06, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
CSD R3
Howdy! Just a quick note, I see that you used CSD R3 to delete a one year old redirect back in zippity zippity ought seven for Snout counting. Quick FYI, CSD R3 specifies recently created implausible redirects. Might be old news, just checking in. On an unrelated note, google the term sometime, it's not quite as implausible as ya might have thought. ;) Cheers, CHAIRBOY (☎) 06:01, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on T.J. Houshmandz, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you believe that there is a reason to keep the redirect, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
Chair
Of course! Now that you've been awarded a Chair, please also feel free to amend your signature to Prof. One. --Dweller (talk) 07:55, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Deletion of Doctor Steel article
First off I am attempting to get in contact with a user called User:1ne, who's link redirected here. If this is indeed that user then excellent if not then I apologize. Recently I was looking for information on a band/artist called Doctor Steel and I stumbled upon the deletion discussion of said article. Upon reviewing the discussion I noticed an overwhelming majority requested a keep with a small minority requesting a merge and a single request for a delete. Obviously I cannot myself see the article so I cannot speak to whether or not it was up to Wikipedia's standards and it did appear there was some skulduggery involved in the process but all in all it seems odd to me that the discussion resulted in a deletion of the article. It appeared to be an open and shut case of a consensus for keep. If this is indeed User:1ne then I would very much like to know the details in deeming this a deletion. At your earliest convenience please respond on my talk page. Also I noticed that you are currently a part-time editor so if a reasonable amount of time lapses without contact I will simply go to the Deletion:review, please do not take this as an offense. Thank you. Naufana : talk 01:18, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- Yes I thought it was implicitly obvious that I read your justification and by requesting further explanation what I am trying to say is that I didn't think, "The result was delete. Article is a major fair use violation, among other things." is sufficient. For example WP:FAIR is a guideline not a policy and only policy violations are worthy of a cut and dry deletion, hence WP:SPEEDY. Also as far as I know guideline violations require debate and consensus and in my opinion there was no consensus to delete the article. Again please respond on my talk page, thank you. Naufana : talk 19:33, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Sorry about that
I would have selected a different name.[1] At the time, I just wanted a name that wasn't easily googled. I didn't realize that such a long-time editor had already taken it. Cool Hand Luke 20:57, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm curious as to why you closed this as a keep. At best, it seems to be a "no consensus" which may default to keep but is not the same as an actual consensus to keep. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 02:11, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
