- Wow. What the hell. I would have never seen this coming... thanks for letting me know. I'll definitely pinch in tomorrow.
- If the images are deleted, do you know if we'll be able to add them again using another rationale like I used HERE? Thanks again for notifying me. ComputerJA (talk) 04:32, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- CJA, the short answer is YES. Commons has stricter rules than English Wikipedia. However there are obvious advantages to listing in Commons, such as reusing the same photos in the Spanish Wikipedia without having to re-upload them again. However, as a precaution, we must grab the photos NOW, before/if they are deleted from Commons. Once they are gone from Commons, they will be a lot more work to find them again and to re-gather the source information, dates, etc etc., all over again. (I will try to do that tomorrow.) Also, we might be able to relist the same images under the PD rationale in the English Wikipedia; this is because Commons has stricter, much stricter rules. However, doing so could put the images back in Commons (a Bot does this) and the same delete nomination problem could re-appear again some days or maybe some months or years down the road...
- Just in case you have not debated in Commons before, they have their own rules there. *ENGLISH WIKIPEDIA RULES DON'T MEAN ANYTHING THERE.* Another thing, if you have not logged in there before, the best way (IMO) is to edit your Preferences (in English Wikipedia) and under the User Profile tab, ensure that your "Global Acount Status" reads "All in Order!" or similar, and that the value is something like "Your account is active on 2 [OR MORE!!!]project sites." (2 = English + Commons). If not, click on "Manage your global account" underneath the "Status" line and update the settings as appropriate. The idea is to login to both English and Commons with the same password (it's easier that way). Regards, Mercy11 (talk) 04:58, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- El Chapo's picture was erased because it was taken in Puente Grande, Jalisco. I added this one. Hope you're fine with it. ComputerJA (talk) 02:39, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
- Great! Uploading another one for every one they erase...Way to go!!! Thx, Mercy11 (talk) 00:29, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
DYK for Adrián Silva Moreno
On 5 February 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Adrián Silva Moreno, which you created or substantially expanded. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Adrián Silva Moreno. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Replaceable fair use File:Gustavogonzalezcastro.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Gustavogonzalezcastro.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. LightGreenApple talk to me 08:10, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

OK! Go ahead and throw in some information. My major concern is that the sources don't seem to agree whether or not this guy is death or alive (a fugitive). It leaves room for the specualtion if his alleged death is just an Internet hoax to deviate public attention from seeking, identifying, and reporting this guy to the authorities...
In any event, you might also be interested in knowing that several new photos of Mexico mob bosses continue to be under attack:

- There is a mandatory 7 day waiting period, then --if there is no discussion ongoing-- the deletionists can do their lovely thing. The 7-day waiting period is not always observed: Some deletionists are quite trigger-happy and know their keyboards and mice better than the days of their week!!! I have been busy with other WP projects so not always get time to refute the refutable images. Keep the faith though...and we shall overcome! Mercy11 (talk) 20:16, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

There was a conviction this week in the Regina Martínez case. I didn't know if you had heard, and so I added the BBC citation to the article and adjusted the lead. You might want to take a look at this when you have some time. The issue of impunity is especially important in her case. It boils down to this conflict: 1) The government wants to show it can bring perpetrators to justice and 2) the journalists want the right person caught and convicted. I've always thought she was important. She was very well connected with sources and she networked with the other crime reporters in the Veracruz area. Crtew (talk) 07:39, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the update. Proceso wrote an article stating that the alleged perpetrator was supposedly tortured and forced to admit his culpability for her assassination. Other smaller newspapers have talked about "inconsistencies" in the conviction. [1] [2] ComputerJA (talk) 09:09, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- I'll give it an eye in the next week, and I'll be updating the article. Her case is quite important. Thanks! ComputerJA (talk) 09:11, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- The reporter that has been covering the investigation behind Martinez's assassination allegedly received threats from several officials in the Veracruz government. [3] [4] I'm sure more info will pop up in English by tomorrow. Cheers! ComputerJA (talk) 03:40, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
- I wonder if sometime there might be articles prepared for regions, like Veracruz. Found this in the press as I was browsing.[InfoNews] Your list is more complete. Crtew (talk) 20:46, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah. I'm pretty sure there are some other journalists missing in the list... especially the ones killed before the 90s. ComputerJA (talk) 05:03, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
- Here's a recent report from CPJ. [5] It's on threat. ComputerJA (talk) 17:40, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Marco Antonio Solís personal life section.
Hello sir, down below are the sources to Marco Antonio Solís' personal life the section was deleted by a wikpedia user and I tried to source but it didn't work out. I would like to have the section restored but the user has not responded to fix the section. Marco Antonio was married to Beatriz Adriana and had a daughter named Beatriz Adriana and later divorced. and met his current wife Christian Salas when she was the main love interest in a music video for a aquella by Los Bukis. he has two daughters with her and their names are Alison and Marla Solis. His daughter Beatriz Adriana also gave birth to her first son named Leonardo making Marco Antonio Solís a grandfather. I am a big fan of him and I thank you for your help.
http://enplenovuelomx.es.tl/Christian-Salas.htm this is an interview with Beatriz Adriana his ex wife on Marco making amends with his daughter and meeting his grandson Leonardo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fX6g7OcOsks this is his daughter Beatriz Adriana she performs under the name B.A. Solis. She is named after her mother. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aczAKC_EEsk and these are his daughters with Christian they filmed a got milk commercial their names are Alison and Marla Solis. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPxD0dWlVMk and here's the article. please restore his personal life. thank you. http://entretenimiento.univision.com/fotos/populares/slideshow/2011-07-21/marco-antonio-solis-buki-got-milk-2011 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.254.65.116 (talk) 07:38, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- Sure. Can you write the information here and tell me where the sources should go? I'll fix them myself and post them on the article once you do that. BTW, the first source is probably not a reliable one. You might want to take a look into WP:RS. I'm sure a newspaper might have covered some of the information you want to add. Cheers, ComputerJA (talk) 23:07, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
hello, and thanx the section can be found on his view history page everything is there you just need to add the links I posted for you. if you are looking for articles they are hard to find. but im sure the links will be able to keep the section in place please see the Marco Antonio Solís page and you will see his section then add the links for the sources. if you need articles let me know and I will do my best to find them thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.254.65.116 (talk) 04:54, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
- Done. I did some minor trimming to the paragraph. Feel free to fix any changes you disagree with. Take care! ComputerJA (talk) 13:56, 23 April 2013 (UTC)

Climate Data for Various Mexican Cities
Since I have added/modified most of the major climate data for major cities in Mexico, does it matter whether the colours are the standard ones as the ones as of now or if the colours are pastel for temperatures and green for precipitation? Even if this looks like I am doing it on a mass scale and may be controversial (change the standard), does it matter which colours should it be? Just need outside option.Ssbbplayer (talk) 14:35, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, Ssbbplayer. I'm guessing that you'll have to seek consensus with other users on the colors you are allowed to use for the weather boxes. I already took a look at the discussion at Template talk:Weather box#RfC - Colours to be used in the weather box; you'll just have to wait for the moment and see what the agreement is. Ping me if need help on anything else--unfortunately, I don't think there's much I can do for the moment. ComputerJA (talk) 22:44, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- I believe that more editors are needed to comment on this, even though if they have never edited the climate section before because using this way, it avoids making the discussion focused on a narrow set of opinions from only a few users.Ssbbplayer (talk) 21:20, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- RIP, laptop. -- Khazar2 (talk) 23:43, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know :/ I get on with the desktops at the school library but it's not the same... ComputerJA (talk) 01:03, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- A vote is going to decide which colours will be used. No arguments or discussion is required because it seems like the arguments are just going back and forth with no progress. Ssbbplayer (talk) 15:25, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, that can usually happen. I hope you find some concensus. Just bare with it. Sorry for not being of much help. ComputerJA (talk) 00:05, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
- Okay. I understand what you are saying It might be unfavourable or favourable but the main thing was that I was able to add a lot of information to the cities (sunshine and reliable climate data was practically non-existent a couple of months ago, especially in Latin American cities. Yes, I just have to bare with it and try to move on. Ssbbplayer (talk) 19:47, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
- I agree. The climate boxes are, by far, one of most underrepresented areas of Wikipedia articles about cities. Don't let a color debate stop you from editing here--your work has been great since you started editing. Keep up the good work, cheers, ComputerJA (talk) 20:45, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
- Agree. I will continue to keep up the good work. Ssbbplayer (talk) 21:15, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
