My RfA

Hi David. I wanted to thank you for taking the time to consider my RfA, which passed this morning. If you see me doing anything wrong, with or without admin powers, please don't hesitate to let me know. Also, if there's ever anything I can help you with, just ask; you know where to find me. By the way, I fell for your joke. It was cruel, but not particularly unusual. ×Meegs 05:21, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Oh, it said someone deleted all your talk page, and it was reverted to my last chat to you. Well, ok:) Just checkin:)--Slipknot222 01:38, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

  • No, I didn't delete or vandalize with the intent of vandalizing; some admin came along and mistook my archiving for vandalizing without actually READING my comment of "I'm archiving". - nathanrdotcom (TCW) 01:49, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

No, it works perfectly, hence the barnstar ;) --M o P 05:02, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't know why I put that in there; I've just been addressed many a time with it. I was working tech crew today at a rock concert, and some parent tripped over the snake feeding half of the aux. and the talk box; he blamed this on me (I was performing maintenance on the amp bank nearby) because he "had to get by me," and then the snot-nosed punk thing happened. From this experience I drew the conclusion that either I'm a bad person or that some people aren't very friendly. --M o P 05:13, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the kind words! I'm an optimist; you'd never guess that from my taste in music, but I don't believe that life should be filled with misery. So the cup is not half empty; all people are nice, except for a select few baddies. It helps brighten the day :) Anyway, I will award you a talk box as soon as I can take the picture of it. Hours of fun. --M o P 05:22, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

My RFA

Thank you for your recent vote on my RFA. While the nomination failed, I was rather expecting it due to the big lapse between registration and recent edits. RfA Question

Moe, can you please respond to my comments at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Adrian Buehlmann? Thanks. --M@thwiz2020 20:54, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi Moe, thanks for your note. I actually did understand what God of War was saying, but my post was unclear. I meant that both the pro-traditional-marriage (anti-gay marriage) box and the pro-queer-rights (anti-traditional-marriage) box should be treated the same way. I think they should both stay deleted. I also think it is hypocritical to vote differently on the two boxes, and that there should be a unified vote rather than a seperate vote on both boxes. I have gone back and (hopefully) clarified my post. Thanks, Johntex\talk 23:02, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm banging my head on the desk trying to figure out why it's not working for me as it does for you or MoP. :| I copied the necessary info to monobook.css and created the /Status template. Yes, I did a hard-refresh of my browser. grrr. - nathanrdotcom (TCW) 02:07, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Spanish Translation

Greetings, Moe Epsilon, and thanks for joining the Spanish Translation of the Week! I'm glad you've joined us, but I have a sneaking suspicion that you may have used a machine translation to finish the last few ([1] [2] [3] [4]) Spanish passages in the La Seo Cathedral article. My suspicion is based upon the fact that these passages are obviously unnatural in English, while each individual word is an exact translation of its counterpart in the Spanish source text. If you really do have a basic grasp of Spanish as your userboxes suggest, be bold and put it to use, but do not machine-translate because your heart is not in it and the resulting text is unnatural. I understand the urge to push the translation to completion, but replacing source text with machined gibberish slows and complicates the process of accurate translation. Thanks again for joining, and forgive me if my suppositions are wrong. - Draeco 07:39, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Hello Moe Epsilon, it is my apologies to bring you that I've withdrawn my RFA. Due to the lack of experience, I would go under admin coaching first before trying again later. I would thank you for your vote in this RFA whether you voted support, oppose or neutral for me. My RFA

Current WWE roster

I like the changes you made. I always thought the contracted and non-contracted developmental talent should be seperated. I made few small changes: Brian Myers and Brett Matthews state in their WWE.com interviews that they are headed to DSW, Danny Inferno was transfered to DSW when Ryan Reeves was transfered to OVW a couple weeks ago, and according to OVWrestling.com, Compton is actually known as Domino Cliff Compton, not Dice Domino. Also, even though his profile says it, I'm not sure that Lash LeRoux is under WWE contract. I'll try to confirm it and make the change when/if I do, unless someone beats me to it. Otherwise, two thumbs up. --JFred 18:16, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I like the changes you've made to the article. It's good to now have a list of anyone working with them, not just under contract. I'll let you know if I think of any more suggestions for it. tv316 22:45, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

LOL, now check it out.--Slipknot222 00:41, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm curious why you felt a qualifier ("lumberjack") was necessary for the Paul Bunyan (lumberjack) article. Most of the links on the Paul Bunyan (disambiguation) page are red, and the link to Paul Wright could have been handled on the Paul Bunyan page itself. Considering that, even if those redlinked articles get created, all of the links on the disambiguation page are references to Paul Bunyan (lumberjack), then it makes sense for that to be the main page, I think. Powers 03:16, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

Well, I'm not suggesting a disambiguation page is unnecessary. =) It almost certainly is. But I still think Paul Bunyan should be the "lumberjack" article instead of simply redirecting to the disambiguation page. That's the way it's done for most articles where it's reasonably obvious what someone is searching for. I'll post a note on the talk page for Paul Bunyan (lumberjack) to get some more input. Powers 12:29, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

Hey, i saw yall talkin about...

Paul Bunion. Isn't he just a myth?--Slipknot222 21:50, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

Ya know what...I might go on a wikibreak. I'd post it but, i just feel like that since i'm not too established and that i am not too high up as people like you or like celestianpower, that it wouldnt be a big deal. I've never felt so much pressure and so many problems at once in my life ya know. Its bad.--Slipknot222 21:56, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

Your right. Not only should i not feel discouraged but, nothing last for ever, not even Love. Thats one of my main problems that i am having.--Slipknot222 22:08, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

Beat ya

Sorry for beating ya. :-) Moe ε 22:32, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Yes, you most certainly did ;). I was thinking maybe we—you and I, or a bunch of people—could create a WP:BITE-conforming talk message to leave for new users who nominate themselves that wouldn't be overly harsh, but get the point across. I've spoken to three users recently about waiting a little while before trying to run for Adminship. If you want to start a draft, or if you want me to, just let me know, and we'll work from there. Thanks and see ya around. -Mysekurity 22:42, 24 March 2006 (UTC) (my message was longer, though ;-P)

P.S. Why is your talk page semi'd? It's been almost two weeks... do you want to try without it?

Sure, I would be happy to work with you (and others if needed) to send new users about adminship requirements. When do you want to get started?
Yes, your message was longer and more informative than mine :-( *egotistically* I could do better than if I wanted. :-D Yeah, so much vandalism to both my user page and talk page landed it with the semi-protection. After two weeks, I'm ready to take on the onslaught of comments now. :-) Moe ε 22:50, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
Responding to one thing at a time; I'm heading out in a little while, so maybe we could work on something tomorrow, or if you want to get it started tonight, go for it. Check out my response at Code Napoleon's page, and I'll send you an e-mail that I think worked pretty well. I think the key is to be polite and humerous, but still convey the point. In any event, I'll work on it tomorrow, and send something off to ya. As for the semi-protection, as a sysop, just say the word and I'll turn it off or something. I have my page move-protected so that nobody can put me "ON WHEELS!" or the like. If you continue to recieve vandalism, drop me a line and I'll re-protect it. Happy editing, Mysekurity 23:08, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm not seeing what made my comment vandalism. It was not a test, I commented on the discussion page under the heading "First to appoint an openly gay man" saying that I thought "Bush is the first Republican President to appoint an openly gay man to his administration." needed some indication of who this openly gay man is. It may be common knowledge or not, but I personally have never heard of who it is.
