Disambiguation link notification for July 22
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of motor yachts by length, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sea Stallion. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 20:10, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
List of motor yachts
[edit]Hi, back in July you made a series of 5 edits that made changes to numerous entries on this list. Today, after noting some issues, I went through all your changes and ended up correcting, undoing and/or sourcing a large majority of them. Sourcing in particular was a big issue. On list articles, entries without a linked parent article must be sourced. If there is a parent article, the you need to ensure it has sufficient sourcing for everything you add or change in an entry. For changes you made to entries with a parent article, I checked it as well but often found the sourcing needed wasn't there. In some cases I also found you made page moves when you really shouldn't have.
This was a lot of work, and as such I would ask that you take some time to review the policies and guidelines that must be followed when editing. I don't mean to sound harsh, I know you're new to the project (as we all were) and there is a lot to learn. I also note that you have a welcome template at the top of your page, and if you haven't already, I would strongly encourage you to read through all the links it contains as this is extremely beneficial to new users (though, when I welcome new users, this is the template I use, I find it provides a great deal more information). Everything we do here is guided by policy, and you will find that in most discussions, people often cite policy (with shortform wiki-speak, that takes a while to learn as well). For example, new users should refrain from moving articles until they are more knowledgable about it. In the meantime, if you believe a page should be moved, you can make a request at WP:RM. (<-and that is an example of the shortcuts you'll often see cited on talk pages).
Anyway, this is now longer than I intended, so I'll end it here. If you have any questions, let me know. - wolf 05:11, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, wolfchild !
- Excuse me, but you made many mistakes, like the inversion of the names of Emir / O'Mega. For HBC / C2, my revisions were also the right thing (please accept my apologies for my approximative English language, I'm just a poor frenchie !), so please check yourself my sayings and revert your changes. I won't do it on my own, cause I don't want to occure any edition war but it's a pity for me to consider my work went down this way.
- Best regards from France. Mitchosaure (talk) 08:41, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- This is how the C2 article looked as you had left it, can you point to the ref that states C2 was renamed HBC? As for O'Mega, refs state it was sold and renamed Emir. Is that incorrect, or referring to the wrong boat? - wolf 14:15, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- Please accept my apologies, Emir is the actual name of the ship. For HBC, you can check it here : https://www.charterworld.com/index.html?sub=yacht-charter&charter=motor-yacht-c-ex-ann-project-blue-sky-7214
- Or here:

- Hoping that everything is correct. Mitchosaure (talk) 15:00, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- Ah, well... comme ci, comme ça. Feel free to change C2/HBC back without fear of edit warring. - wolf 21:53, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- Monsieur est trop bon ! 😁
- Peaceful night here in Paris beneath the towers of Notre-Dame. May this peace be with you ! Mitchosaure (talk) 21:58, 7 December 2024 (UTC)

Ace/Eye
[edit]Not sure why you're suddenly sniping at me, in edit summaries no less, about an issue from a month ago. If I reverted an edit or page move, it was as I said in the summary: it appearred to be unsupported. It seems you've now added a source - great, but that doesn't change the fact the that last month you made a numerous changes (dozens if I recall) and almost all of them had to be corrected, which was a good deal of unnecessary work that you created, and others (in this case mostly me) had to clean up.
And now, again, out of the blue you're starting with this? Well, happy new year to you as well. The comments were unnecessary, especially in an edit summary, and even moreso when there is this very recent discussion on the subject right here on your talk page, (where discussions belong). In the furtue, if you really feel it necessary to bring an edit to my attention like this, then use a talk page... that is what they're here for. That said, I must ask, why didn't you add the sourcing when you first moved the page last month?
And on the subject of page moves, since there were issues with several of the moves you previously made, wouldn't it be a good idea to use WP:RM...? (as was suggested to you already) That is what it's there for, and it certainly helps to ensure that page moves are being done correctly. And speaking of doing things correctly, I note that even though you moved the page, added a ref, brought my attention to it all by pinging me with a snarky summary, you still left the article with a number of errors on it, despite it only being a sub. That really shouldn't happen.
And finally, after adding the source, you then had to make a series of edits just to continually correct it. That shouldn't happen either. This is why we have the WP:PREVIEW function, so that you can ensure your edit, and indeed the article (when it's a sub) is correct before saving your changes. When you neglect to do this, and then end up making addtional edits, that adds to both the page history, which can make article management more difficult, and it also blows up all the watchlists and notifications for editors watching the article.
In the future, please try to be more collaborative and less combative, use talk pages instead of summaries to send messages, ensure all your changes are correct and supported, consider using RM for moves, and definitely use page preview before saving, and even then review the article to see if you've left any errors or other issues, basically try to leave it better than you found it. Thank you - wolf 15:19, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, wolfchild and please let me start with sending you my best wishes too for this new year. For the rest, please accept my apologies and don't regard my blink as a combative attitude. As you noticed, I'm not very comfortable with the method so I will try to observe every point you told in the future. Mitchosaure (talk) 15:53, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
