Important notices

I just recently changed my username, from Bigtop (which is some circus-related stuff, eh?) to Minna Sora no Shita (みんな空の下, Everyone Under the Sky), to reflect my current J-pop interests.

At time of posting, I'm in Victoria, British Columbia, so once I get back home, I'll start to change usernames on other twenty Wikimedia projects (see WP:Unify). I will also try to change my user pages, as it seems outdated.

As a result, my signature has changed; I'm thinking about using the Japanese variant of the username for the Japanese Wikipedia. みんな空の下 (トーク) 14:58, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Quite an important notice, so I've decided to keep this until further notice. --みんな空の下 (トーク)

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 05:16, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Re:Total Armor

Total Armor was an arcade game existed in Hong Kong during 2009 and now it is not avaliable anymore. You can find some info of this game on www.game3talk.com (http://www.game3talk.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=20043&extra=page%3D1) I write the article as it forms part the history of arcade game, even it is not very popular. Also, please note that this article is still work in process.

Lastly, to decide whether an article notable/have to be deleted or not basing on the search results of google is silly. In fact, the info of Total Armor can be found on internet is not much, so I start writing an article on wiki in order to make it more informative.

I always welcome opinions and proposals, but please be constructive. Thanks you very much.

You did not respond on my talk page User talk:67.51.67.202 so I thought I would leave a comment here as well. On what premise do you assess my edit to not be constructive? It is bad enough to make an edit without comment but even worse to revert without comment (because then you invite confrontation so at least post your reason). 67.51.67.202 (talk) 19:40, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Your request for rollback

Hi Minna Sora no Shita/Archive 1. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Tiptoety talk 04:46, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Your signature

Hi, I don't know if you're aware, but the second half of your username (ie. not "Bigtop") is completely unreadable to me. I had to higlight what looked like a white space to see something there. I'm on a mac, I don't know if that makes a difference. :) --BelovedFreak 21:58, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

I'm also on a Mac (don't thin it makes a difference) in Google Chrome (that might make a difference) and came here for the same reason. It's really a small thing, but yea, your sig is bright to the point it's unreadable. Nice to meet you, BTW. Airplaneman 04:04, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Page blanked by author

Hi. Though page blanking is usually vandalism and needs to be reverted, you need to look first at the page history, because quite often the author has blanked his/her own page after it is speedy tagged, as with Chris Williams (student) just now. In those cases the thing to do is to tag it {{db-author}}. It is confusing for an author who realises his page is inappropriate and blanks it, if the page is at once restored and he is accused of vandalism for the blanking and told it was unconstructive. It was made worse in this case because the same mistake was made by Dashbot (for which I have submitted a false positive) and also by another human editor, so that the unfortunate newbie ended up with a #3 warning and threats of blocking. (I have deleted the warnings and apologised profusely.) Regards, JohnCD (talk) 17:35, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Yet another unhelpful and useless moderator

Do you have any Doraemon episodes? No? Well I do.I have the first 300 0dd episodes on DVD and I have been filling the details in since No.1 (someone removed the first ten then replaced them with their own longer versions). If you bothered looking at the discussion, you would see that someone complained that the wrong Japanese words have been used for the English titles. My Doraemon episodes have English and Japanese titles and none of them match up with what are used on the Doraemon page. I did change a fair number of the earlier ones but it is so much effort for someone unfamiliar with Japanese writing that I gave up. Especially since the Japanese titles of many were not even on the Doraemon page so I could not move them to their correct place as I had done with others.

I have removed the Japanese titles because they are WRONG. Do you understand the English word WRONG? You have VANDALISED my work by removing the synopsis of episodes I have added. Are you a moderator or a wrecker who has found their way here? Please do not interfere in something you do not have a clue about. If you want to be helpful and understand English and Japanese, then put in the correct Japanese titles. The wrong ones make wikipedia look like a laughing stock to Japanese people.

Shall I continue correcting the Doraemon page or do you intend to continue vandalising it? An answer would be helpful. All comments on the discussion page under Correct Titles are mine. (Cyberia3 (talk) 16:59, 18 August 2010 (UTC))

Dont be a vandal please

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to the page Benny Morris. Such edits constitute vandalism and are reverted. Please do not continue to make unconstructive edits to pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you.67.169.68.203 (talk) 21:35, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

recent AIV reports

Several of your AIV reports have been for editors that appear to be editing in good faith. Their edits may be misguided, or malformed, or perhaps inappropriate, but that does not make them vandalism. Please review WP:VAND before leaving templated messages on their talk pages OR reporting them at AIV. It is much more helpful to engage misguided users in real conversation, especially regarding edits which are in good faith. --Jayron32 06:21, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

No problem. I understand how you can get into a "rhythm" during vandal fighting, especially when using an automated package (Huggle, Twinkle, etc) to do so. However, please take extra care when doing so, to avoid problems like this. Keep up the good fight! --Jayron32 06:25, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
You are still doing it [1]. This really is not vandalism. Also here: [2] - the edit seems helpful to me, can you explain in edit summaries/talk pages what the problem is rather than using the default edit summaries and these canned warnings? ErikHaugen (talk) 07:17, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Also this one [3]. It is very discouraging and frustrating for a new editor to see these kinds of warnings after making good faith - and in many cases perfectly fine - edits. Please consider the damage that this is doing and figure out what you need to do to stop doing it. I hope orientation goes well, ErikHaugen (talk) 16:09, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
re my talk page: I don't really have any tips, I'm not much of a vandal fighter myself. I find that sometimes something that I see that at first appears to be vandalism turns out to be not vandalism, so yeah like you suggest maybe going slower and at least for cases that are not blanking or gibberish really reading them over a few times to make sure that they are vandalism. Sometimes looking at the page history or the suspected vandal's earlier contributions is helpful for me. Thanks for all the work you do here! ErikHaugen (talk) 17:23, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
And like I mentioned above, edit summaries can go a long way toward resolving conflict, I think. You should probably use them in cases that are not 110% obvious. Certainly use them if you are edit-warring. thanks, ErikHaugen (talk) 17:49, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Another tip is to not use combative language when responding to suspected vandals, eg: [4]. Just assume good faith and respond to the substance, going out of your way to be civil. If this IP editor really was a vandal, then your language here would have been feeding the troll, so to speak. In this case of course the IP was not a vandal and was not trolling, I'm just saying that in either situation the combative language is not useful. ErikHaugen (talk) 18:25, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Doraemon

Can I start again on the Doraemon lists? I do not know where the Japanese titles came from but they are all wrong. All of them. I have changed some of them where possible but it is an incredibly slow job as the Japanese language is totally alien to me.

Sorry about coming on so strong before but I have had a number of wrong decisions from moderators and instead of just friendly advice, there is often instead the threat of banning me from the wikipedia. It is a bad attitude that needs to be changed as it is often an uncalled for threat. If someone is unintentionally doing wrong on the wikipedia, they will stop it. No need to threaten them.(Cyberia3 (talk) 08:27, 19 August 2010 (UTC))

"Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit that you made to the page Saraswati Vandana Mantra has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive."

Well i don't see how a harmless english translation of a mantra can be termed "unconstructive"...the translation was faithful to the original text.I do not see why you should rv my changes without sufficient reason.Thanks..

btw, i have re-edited the page, and if you revert it again, i'll take this matter up.

Before you undo any further changes. I suggest you check the IP origination of the change. I assure it will trace back to the Pacific Palisades, CA. Home of both the Palisades Tennis Center and The Ski Channel Headquarters among Steve's other businesses. Perhaps the data is valid because it is being posted by someone who heard it first hand in a room full of Steve's employees who can corroborate its accuracy.

Question

What's the deal with the IP that is posting on my talk page. Was he making a personal attack on someone when you rv'd him? Tyrol5 [Talk] 19:28, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

"The deal" is that this IP tagged a user talk page with an autobio user warning, then a sockpuppeteer tag, which is somehow being treated as vandalism. Bad edits on both your parts. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 19:30, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
I apologize for any inconveniences, but I simply reverted because Minna Sora did (it looked a lot like an edit war) Tyrol5 [Talk] 19:32, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Which is why you should look at whatever edits you're reverting. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 19:34, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

I don't get this idea about what he is saying; is he saying in bad faith or what? I don't understand this. Bigtop みんな空の下 (トーク) 19:40, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
I don't ever touch the reviewer status; I'm not real fond of the disenfranchisement that represents. But you've clearly abused rollback here, so I've removed that for now. Tags on 79.82.233.12's talk page

In this edit you added a tag accusing the editor of committing vandalism. The editor did not. The edit was unsourced and maybe OR but it was not vandalism. Please do not use the word "vandalize" unless it is vandalism. Please don't bite the newcomers - instead of a tag consider explaining what was problematic about the edits. The goal is to help the new editors more effectively contribute, not to smack them down and make them feel like they are being accused. ErikHaugen (talk) 21:32, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

It seems that I am going a bit too "agressive". Maybe should I loosen that up? Bigtop みんな空の下 (トーク) 21:49, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Well, I don't know about loosening up or being less aggressive. You do a lot of good work and revert a lot of vandalism, and that is great. But for good faith edits like the ones by 79.82.233.12, it might be helpful for you to approach it with the mindset of "how can I encourage and educate this new user?" instead of the mindset you normally use for obvious bad faith vandals. ErikHaugen (talk) 21:54, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Oops, it's 79.82.233.126's talk page, not 79.82.233.12. ErikHaugen (talk) 21:58, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi MSnS- we've just edit-conflicted over the above article! I'm not that experienced in CSD but, when looking through the categories for this one, wasn't sure that "no context" would strictly apply (as it does seem to clearly identify and then state the point it wishes to make). Am I being too literal with "context"? Anyway, my thought was to tag it as vandalism but I having seen your edit, I've left it alone. August 2010

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on User talk:86.160.191.107. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Guoguo12--Talk--  23:42, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

News Corporation Donation To Republican Governors Association

First of all, I do not work for nor am at all involved with DailyKOS nor any of its writers and contributors. I am not a vandal either. I merely wanted it to be on record that News Corporation, Fox News Parent Company, had recently donated $1 million to the Republican Governors Association. The New York Times reported the story on August 17th, despite other news sources reluctance to do so. I made no reference to Rupert Murdoch. I cited my source from the New York Times own website. You moved the notation to a different (and I would AGREE) more relevant section of the Fox News page. Then Soxwon deleted it. Twice. I put it back. You've deleted it again. The fact of this donation is not in dispute. Why should we have to 'discuss' facts that are not in dispute? Please don't give me the standard 'Wikipedia is a community' defense. The whole point of an encyclopedia is to record human history. ALL OF IT. Coountless millenia of human history both great and minute is lost because no one wrote it down. If you are going to remove something, I believe you owe all of us who read and care about the future of Wikipedia and the free and transparent communication of facts and knowledge an explanation for this deletion. While I agree that the continued vandalism of Wikipedia by both sides of the aisle is counterproductive, I disagree that anyone should remove simple statements of facts because they think them unimportant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DarkSummoner (talkcontribs) 04:08, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of Wikipedia Page titled Deos

Hello - I am responding to your recent "speedy deletion" of a page I created called Deos. This page was created as a supporting page to two product listings currently being maintained on Wikipedia... 1) List of "Real-time Operating Systems" 2) List of "Operating Systems". This is a product that should be explained, similar to others in these lists such as VxWorks. This OS has been used extensively in avionics for over 15 years. I tried to follow Wikipedia guidelines for the entry by keeping the information factual as well as providing external links to various industry related references. I welcome any feedback on adjusting the page as needed so Wikipedia readers can click on the Deos entry in the OS and RTOS list and get more information on what Deos is.

Also, I can no longer see the Deos page because you have added a redirect to the page called DDC-I, Inc., which is now also marked for possible deletion. Please note this page was also created with the intent to provide supporting information. I welcome your input for changes to both of these pages. 4zehcnej8 (talk) 21:43, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

For arcane reasons the "speedy deletion" was incorrect, since the subject of the article was not a corporation, but in any case the speedy tag has been removed, so don't worry about that anymore. It wasn't minna that made the redirect, though, that was Ioeth. You can see the page by going here; essentially all content has been removed, so try clicking on "view history." 4zehcnej8, I would suggest glancing at the notability guidelines for corporations and the general notability guidelines, and using the guidelines there making a case at the deletion discussion. That can be a good place to discuss the fate of these articles and get input from other editors. ErikHaugen (talk) 22:08, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

I reverted this edit where you tagged the article as G7. Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, it appears that the editor you reported may not have engaged in vandalism, or the user was not sufficiently or appropriately warned. Please note there is a difference between vandalism and unhelpful or misguided edits made in good faith. If the user continues to vandalise after a recent final warning, please re-report it. Thank you! GorillaWarfare talk 06:17, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Your revert to Closer Than We Appear

I see you reverted User:Kevinkoultg's edit to Closer Than We Appear. Thanks for at least welcoming me :D

thanks you for welcoming me miss minna sora no shita i was wondering.... are u a bot because your reply speed is unreal just kidding though im new to wikipedia and i know you thought i was a vandal but i was actually just having fun with editing and reverting i still dont know how to edit though i think this reply to you right here on your talk page is a learning experience for me

i know it goes against wikipedia policy but let me tell u something about myself im robert people close ball me robby or bobby im 12 years old(13 in november YAY!) and i want to contribute to this amazing info site i mean llike who gives away info for free right when i was little i always had to buy books and it was always about a seperate subject but here on wikipedia you can search all the subjects its like an omnicyclopedia ive edited a few times as u may have known :P

i really want to contribute please excuse my immatureness for my assumed vandalism i was just joking around

im assuming that by writing this message u will assume im not a bot and i assume u also will know my english isnt perfect its just the writing though im a native speaker but its the only language i know though :( i ve only learned to type on the keyboard since i was 10 the reason i want an account isnt coz i just wanna edit ive decided now i saw your page and saw that you fight vandalism i know how fun vandalism can be but its wrong coz it interfiers with ppls knoledge ive decided now i wanna fight vandalism too i also wanna be able to edit protected pages i ve always admired this site for the last 2 years only now have i had the guts to actually edit an article

i also want to be able to edit semi protected articles i intend to be an admin in the future i dont care if its like mop duty coz it gives me something to do in my free time and it can help me fight vandalism even more

this is just an ip adress im afraid i might be blocked please miss help me i want to ask u this one request please ask ppl not to block me im really scared thats why i want an account please create me one post the username and pass word on my talk page ill change the password later but ill even give you my email adress if you want to know who i am please be my guide in wikipedia even if its only for a little while a day

im new to this and i intend to be a most ambitious editor/writer both in wiki and REAL life

im sorry if i disrupted your talk page but i promise ill improve i cant create accounts oon my own which is why ive asked u im glad i was able to get the attentious of someone as generous as u you must however realize that i am not able to create an account due to some computer connection technical stuff im not totally sure about

i intend ton staying with wiki till the rest of my life please coach me i will mighty appreciate it

im a crime commiter :(

you sounded harsh when u you said "NO YOU'RE NOT" giggles

im really sorry as u assumed it was done by this ip and yes it was all me so dont think it was another person

this might be a shared ip im not sure but yes i commited the crimes im sorry i hope that by confessing u this u will help me now i know the opposite is more likely to happen since i did a bad thing but please forgive me i didnt know it wud be that bad i only changed a teeny bit but still its goes everything i stand against i let my childishness get the best of me please forgive me please dont block me other ppl might block me too i really want an account an u are the only person capable of doing it right now if you could do it i promise ill i want do anything bad u can even check my account since u will be the one who creates it anyway

it was a learning experience for me u can even tell when i used reverting vandalism as an excuse it was funny and i knew it was a bad thing but did it anyway to satisfy my greed for fun i promise i will not do it again

i also wud like you to grade me and point out to me my mistake if i do an offense like this again it was nice of you to assume good faith but it wasnt good at all :( what i did

sigh i can only imagine this would only add weight for the reason not to give me an account but please if by some chance i got an account it would make me really happy

signed 216.75.55.137 (talk) 02:29, 15 September 2010 (UTC) Bob :(

im sorry miss

im terrible at this

im trying to take babysteps in this new thing typing like theres no tommorow really gives me a thrill but still....

dont be offended but please hear me

miss think of it from my point of view do u really think theres logic in me requesting u to create an account for me only to have u ask me to create an account for myself yes i too see logic in that but where i dont see logic is that i already asked u that im unable to do it myself it keeps asking me to refresh the page and try again and ive tried like 27 times to be exact im really bummed and its kinda past my bed time i hoped to become an OFFICIAL editor before the sun rises tommorow

but i guess thats not gonna be possible :(

please my wikifuture is in danger ill be blocked i might be blocked and im really scared

im learning to write in short paragraphs on your talk page so please be patient with me miss :)

i will honor the wiki code i promise an account will not only help me if u consider it from a logical point for example it would be easier to identify me through my wiki name than simple numbers so please while we still have time together please honor my request please create me an account for me and post the username and password on my talk page ill change the password for protection ive read the little thing at the end the says I WANNA CHANGE and i decided im 12 im growing up i wanna change too but more importantly i wanna change wikipedia for the greater good and i want you to help me too

i will learn i promise im just an amatuer compared to the others even worse than an amatuer considering the very first edits i did were bad :(

i really think wiki has a future 10 years from now we are all probably gonna be schooling from this marvelous web application id like to think so since its nothing like ive seen before

plase honor this request ill do anything i promise i will not disgrace your name or mine or wiki's ill learn ill learn everything whatever it takes to making it better i may not be capable now but you just watch everybody needs help at first and thats why i asked you come to think of it you are the first wikipedian EVER to talk to me :D

please do this for me and for wiki i promise ill be very different in time from the vandal u see now

User talk:Scottokelly granted, the article wasn't suitable, but tagging him for starting an account IN HIS OWN NAME??????? --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 02:30, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

I did not know about it, but maybe it's because of his Flickr... みんな空の下 (トーク | I wanna chAngE!) 03:43, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi Minna

I appreciate your work at WP:UAA, but please don't make any more "promotional" username reports for accounts that haven't edited yet, we almost never block those. (Obscene or disruptive names can be blocked without edits.) You can tell whether they have any deleted edits by clicking on "edit count" at the bottom of the user's contribs page ... but that shouldn't usually be necessary. Thanks. (Watching) - Dank (push to talk) 13:26, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

After reporting usernames to WP:UAA, could you please remember to either remove CAT:UAA from the talkpages of indefinitely blocked users? Or better yet, not place the template on them at all? Thanks. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 22:21, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

Japanese Album Reviews

I see that none of the Japanese albums (including Ayumi Hamasaki and Namie Amuro) has Professional Reviews except Allmusic and HMV. Is it okay to use HMV in the professional reviews column? I'm asking this because I see that you've contributed a lot to Japanese music (like Ayumi's new singles). Are there no Professional reviews for these except above mentioned two? If you can get some sources, please do provide them in the article. Thank You! Novice7 (talk) 11:52, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

I don't focus on that, sorry. I don't know about anything else with the reviews... みんな空の下 (トーク | I wanna chAngE!) 16:42, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Space updates

Please do not [6] give these launches Delta numbers (350, 351, etc) until they actually launch. There have been plenty of occurrences where it looks like one will go before another, but due to some issues the opposite occurs. Thanks, -MBK004 02:47, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

Otoshimono

No, I'm pretty sure Otoshimono (i.e. 落とし (dropped) 物 (thing) is not a ghost train. The lyrics would be the weirdest things ever, featuring such things as "Your cherished ghost train is flying off into the wind without you realising" and "Did you lose your cherished ghost train for me?" --Prosperosity (talk)
