A7 Deletions

Hi Michael. The 'A7' is shorthand for one of the criteria for speedy deletion (see Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion). In particular, A7 is "Unremarkable people or groups. An article about a real person, group of people, band or club that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. If the assertion is disputed or controversial, it should be taken to AFD instead".

If I deleted a page which you feel did not deserve to be deleted, please let me know, and restore it, and, if neccessary, put it up for AFD. Hope this helps. cheers. Cnwb 23:59, 1 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored the article (Kathleen Elsie Waddle). I would argue that she isn't quite notable enough, but I don't want to discourage you, seeing as you're relatively new, and have been doing some good solid work on New Zealand education articles. As the article currently stands, I don't know if it would make it through an AFD (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion), but I'm not going to nominate it, because I want you to have a chance to improve it first. A tag has been placed on Kathleen Elsie Waddle, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Hello, MichaelFreeman. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
