Laree slack
[edit]While i truly appreciate your reason for wanting this article here, and while i did in fact "vote" to keep it (seems notable to me), please understand that if we allow articles to exist SOLELY for purposes of memorializing or editorializing, no matter how universally accepted the sentiment is, we go down the slippery slope of having the entire encyclopedia project open to various rants and soapboxes, based on having enough people "voting" to keep articles they favor for their percieved social value, or removed for their lack of social value. its better this way. I utterly share your concern about society getting the message about loving vs religious, and how unimaginably hard it can be for some people to understand the difference, esp. in a highly religously charged society. good luck on any other advocacy for this, esp. if it doesnt survive afd. let me know what you do elsewhere, if you feel like it. i will tell a religious leader i know of this event, as they are active in trying to sort out issues like this and trying to give explication of their religion that doesnt fall into this kind of insanity.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 03:29, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- I just added a "See also" section to the page about Laree. I feel very, very sick. MementoLaree (talk) 23:30, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- "See also" sections are meant to point to wikipedia articles that arent directly linked in the article itself. these would be external links or refs. Im sorry you are feeling so sick. Please, take care of yourself. Sometimes what happens in this world is too much for a person to bear alone. dont let that happen to you.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 05:27, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
Please do not add to much meta commentary to that page - try to keep it to deletion discussion under Wikipedia policy if you can :) In terms of your concerns; no matter what the rights or wrongs Wikipedia is simply a record, not a place for soapboxing or writing about your concerns. Clearly these are terrible things to have happened - but Wikipedia is not the place for pushing that agenda. The community has decided to try and retain a strong neutrality and rigid policies of notability to allow it to be a realistic source of information. --Errant Tmorton166(Talk) 20:50, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
