License tagging for Image:One Love-A.R.Rahman.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:One Love-A.R.Rahman.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:11, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Musical Trinity.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Musical Trinity.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:14, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Musical Trinity.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Musical Trinity.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 23:27, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Frog Pad Black Righty.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Frog Pad Black Righty.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Hi CommissarDoggo, I see that you have marked the page for speedy deletion. I am working on adding content about the Carnatic Music artists who have been recognized by our music community and yet they are not present in wikipedia. I am adding references and citations wherever possible. These artists are not alive now and do not need any publicity. Also, I am a mere music enthusiast and in no way associated with these artists. I would appreciate if you would take a moment to read the article before marking it for deletion. mccbala (talk) 17:17, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have started by adding pages for the artists from this award list - Sangita Kalanidhi. mccbala (talk) 17:18, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Mccbala I read both articles. Not to sound harsh, but without citations that are reliable, independent and significantly cover the subject, the article cannot be made. See WP:NMUSIC and WP:GNG. CommissarDoggoTalk? 17:21, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, agreed and I appreciate you for working towards the upkeep of wikipedia standards. However, by deleting the article, you are preventing the opportunity for improvement. More citations can be added only to the information that exists. This article can be marked as a stub and "requires citation". By all means, this is not a promotional article. I am editing the articles to remove the promotional language. mccbala (talk) 17:35, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Again, notability is a hard requirement for an article's inclusion on Wikipedia, which is seemingly not met on these articles at this time; this is the main problem with making articles instantly as full articles instead of as drafts, because they can be deleted and you can lose all your work if they aren't up to snuff.
All I can advise is that you make the pages as drafts so that you can add citations to them and prepare them for becoming articles, using the articles for creation system. CommissarDoggoTalk? 17:41, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@CommissarDoggo This was not an A7, and while the text was promotional, it was trivial for me to edit out promotional words, leaving something at least vaguely resembling the start of an article, meaning that this was not subject to speedy deletion.
