Hello Master of Puppets! I see you made an addition to the talkback template, I wondered if you'd noticed my post on it's talk page about adding instructions to insert one's username in the message that appears at top of talkpage to make it more obvious to editors encountering this for first time, I would've made the correction myself, but being a template I get nervous and need a second opinion ? Deletion

[edit]

Hey why did you delete my page ??????? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisv3193 (talkcontribs) 04:48, 2 October 2008

I guess it's cool for other web based internet radio stations to have a wiki and you say it's spam.. How are we going to explain what we are about if we don't add content and NEWS ARTICLES we've been in... I know I followed your rules and I didn't break them... I been trying for a year now to add it and I chenged it each time to make you people happy.. I bet if I threw a 100 dollar bill at wiki they would not have a problem... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisv3193 (talkcontribs) 04:56, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

--Chrisv3193 (talk) 05:01, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

so what am I to add to my page if i wanted I read the rules and I'm not spamming. I don't know any other way to talk about the station I added news articles and proof to what we are I don't see the problem..

this is a local show in Cleveland Ohio

I followed there template and I get deleted

I did add sources did you read it.. Rolling stones and other news articles we got in, how much more do I have to add.. I tell ya what you show me a outline to what you want and I will follow it once I have it done I will show you and you can decide if it will go on wiki.. --Chrisv3193 (talk) 05:20, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have it back up in my profile http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:Chrisv3193 --Chrisv3193 (talk) 05:21, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blake Lewis was on one of the show that runs on our network and that show got a mention on Fox news rolling stones and other news outlets.. The show is apart of our network...

look at the article it's from Fox News..

--Chrisv3193 (talk) 05:28, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the Internet radio show Maximum Threshold. this show is apart of our network... --Chrisv3193 (talk) 05:29, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok even if the show is on MSC RADIO NETWORK I can't put the shows we have or some of the guest that appeared on the shows.. Ok well can we add a wiki for each show on the network.. I was trying to make it easy and talk about the history of MSC RADIO NETWORK and the shows we have and the guest. We had guest that came on the shows which dropped bombshells.

Look I been trying for a year and I read and read all the rules I don't understand what you Wiki wants. I figure they wanted the history and what we are about and I think I nailed it... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisv3193 (talkcontribs) 05:42, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok well I want to make a page for one of the shows on the network Uncensored Net Noise and trust me I'll have so much info on that page can we set that up????

--Chrisv3193 (talk) 05:47, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll make it a point to put the page back up and send a e-mail to Wiki and show them what we have... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisv3193 (talkcontribs) 06:04, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could you fully protect Wikipedia:Today's featured article/October 2, 2008? It's transcluded to the main page and I shudder to think what vandals would do when they find out it isn't protected. Normally, it's protected by User:Raul654, but this time he forgot to. I saw in the recent changes as being one of the few admins on. Thanks, Cunard (talk) 05:50, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for protecting it! Cunard (talk) 05:53, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for protecting the page, but the template at the top is overkill. I'm not sure what the procedure normally is for such things. There really isn't a content dispute, there is a pack of sock puppets who have for two years trolled the page by putting in a few poorly-worded and unsourced sentences. You can read about it on the talk page and the thread at ANI. If there isn't some way to leave the page fully protected without the needless content dispute tag--as what is really going on is simple vandalism--then let me know and I'll put in an unprotect request. The "content dispute" tag is giving the trolls more gravitas than is necessary. Thanks! Katr67 (talk) 08:05, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I looked into this yesterday, after seeing the ANI thread, and I concur; it isn't an edit war, it's everyone else reverting someone with a dozen or so sockpuppets from including their silly prefered version, which appears to have been rejected by consensus on the talk page over two years ago. I think moving back to semiprotection is reasonable if were are more vigilant in blocking obvious sockpuppets after their first edit (I have it on my watchlist now, and everyone should feel free to report to AIV after 1 edit, rather than giving four new warnings to each sock). No real rush, so I won't be a unilateralist and unprotect, but that's my 2 cents. --barneca (talk) 13:06, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to the above link to the ANI case, see also Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Pioneercourthouse, which was a result of the multiple Beenturns## accounts that had been created in an effort to deal with further potential sleeper accounts and potentially the source IP. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 13:08, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

VeryKool Wiki Deleted???

[edit]

You deleted my entry of VeryKool today. I have followed every guideline set out by Wikipedia, so I am not sure why you deleted it. We are not advertising a specific product, we just created an entry so people could learn about our brand. If you allow Samsung, Nokia, etc. to have factual pages, why are we not allowed?

I expect an immediate response. --Noah82 (talk) 20:22, 2 October 2008 (UTC)—Preceding unsigned comment added by Noah82 (talkcontribs) 18:47, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chris Kanik

[edit]

I'm damn tired of trying to keep these cleanup tags on the Chris Kanik article. I'm trying to engage her/him in a discussion about good sources, but it isn't going anywhere.

In fact, I give up. Block him, or deal with him. I'm done. cOrneLlrOckEy (talk) 21:11, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for handling this person. I'm so close to losing my cool (its been like a year since I've lost my wikipedia cool, so wow, thanks random IP for making today less fun). I really think they need a nice cooling off period [ie, a block] but I'll leave it up to you or others to decide. Thank you, again, for attempting to deal with them. cOrneLlrOckEy (talk) 21:17, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chris Kanik

[edit]

Hello,

I don't know much about the wikipedia world or the "rules" of the wikipedia world. So i apologize if I have come off as threatening. I am just irritated by going back and forth on this.

Early this week, someone vandalized the Chris Kanik page, posting "Chris Kanik is an ass clown" and "Chris Kanik is the man who was pregnant". After this Cornellrockey began to tag it for deletion and quetioning Chris Kanik's notability.

Granted, MySpace may not be "credible" - however, you can not dispute the actual footage. Watch it. It's credible. What about it is not? It's film of a tour he did that was completely done on the internet through websites like Youtube and MySpace. The only proof of this is on the sites. before you question the validity, take the time to actually look through the links. Cornell rockey posted that he visited the MTv site and that it didn't mention Chris. Then after a message I sent him, he said all it did was mention his last name and nothing else - it is irritating because he needs to actually look through this stuff. The South Africa show has an independent website as well as a wikipedia page. As for bamboozle - i own a t-shirt which has Chris' name on it along with the other performers.

I have messages Chris, who just doesn't want people vandalizing his site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.222.140.4 (talk) 21:36, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

mtv

[edit]

There's no article for the MTv thing. The website is all that exists - and the footage from the actual episode Chris was on - which, again, is on his Youtube, but not considered reliable because it's on youtube. In terms of notability, Real World is the first reality tv show it has been on for nearly 20 years. Chris' profile is located under the heading "Finalist." This was also the first time MTV used an online casting to get housemates. That's what makes this notable.

Outside of that - Carmen Sandiego was one of the most popular PBS shows. Chris was on that. there are no "articles" just footage to prove it. Additionally, for a comic to be asked to perform at Giants Stadium is pretty notable. It's not everyday that a young comic is asked to perform in front of thousands and thousands of people.

I think in the circumstance of Chris - there is no way to get outside references. The footage is the proof. he is a young comic who has made a name for himself on myspace and youtube. he has a fanbase of over 30K. is that not notable enough? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.222.140.4 (talk) 21:56, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Brooklyn?

[edit]

It wasn't Real World Brooklyn. It was Real World - Hollywood, which aired this past spring. he was not on the show - he was a finalist on the show - However, last summer - MTV featured him on a Special. He then made it as a finalist. His popularity grew from being aired repeatedly on the special.

he is a notable comic and it would be a shame to have the account deleted. You don;t get to play Giants Stadium, do a nation wide tour of all the improvs, get featured on MTV and tour south africa if you are not a notable comic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.222.140.4 (talk) 23:16, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Master of Puppets, Thank you for your response. I am sending you the same response I sent to Dave 1185. Here are the facts: The Page already existed, I did not create it, I added some references. They decided out of no where to cancel it, then started accusing me be being a zealout and moking my ethinic ancestery. There are several other pages of copies and variants of the AKM and they are all there. I searched as best as what is available on the net to get references. The Egyptian Military Companies do not have that much of exposure as others do. due to their strange understanding of secrecy. Before coming to the USA, I served in the Egyptian Army so that I can immigrate in a legal manner. I had both Asssault Rifles in front of me. There are substantial differences on the outside, I am not sure how much on the inside. The Egyptian Military Production is considerably advanced and they made many improvements in other weapons such as Sakr Eye MANPADS. I was involved in severaltraining manouvres with other Military personnel, one of them was the Bright Star and due to the fact that I am tri-lingual, I was assigned as assistant to several Generals, as an interpreter with foreign Military Officials and I have seen and heard many of them at different occasions showing their admiration of the weapon in question and how different it is from the original one in many aspects, while they were trying it out in the field. Now, that was 18-19 years ago, I was younger and my grasp of technical information was not that developped and my interest in weaponery was more in statistics and capabilities of weapons in a comparitive way (distance, range, weight, speed and so on). I am saying this because I know that this weapon, however small and insignifigant it might be is deserving a page, which as I said was already created some time ago, before these two wikipedian decided to go on a mission to eradicate which does not conform with certain guidlines of Wikipedia. I am not interested in having a war with others, but in as much as there are many pages that are either copies or variants of other weapons and these pages are allowed to exsist just because the variation is well established in different references from the net or a commonly known information for many is not just or fair. Orthopraxia (talk) 17:47, 4 October 2008 (UTC) Hey there; I noticed that you decided that neither Orthpraxia, or Koalorka has provided references, and sources for their claims apart from their own statements; the thing i am wondering of is why in the world was the MISR fireare deleted? XD Yes I know I should get an account but truth is besides my several edits just lately, I'm not here enough to merit getting one. That said, the OTHER IP, we were discussing on Glen Benton's page, has just violated 3RR with here silly MySpace-esque additions which I've warned her numerous times to keep to herself and stop littering Wikipedia with. She probably has a crush on the guy's son or something (I'm not psychic but the first time she edited, it just gave it away). Timmy edit summary

[edit]

Hi MoP. Your edit to the Timmy article was a bit on the pointy side. I believe you didn't change anything and only taunted another user in the edit summary. Reason for Rejecting unblock request for IP 79.74.34.863

[edit]

I wish to know why the unblock request was declined? The above IP is not a static IP, instead it is a dynamic IP assigned to users on a ad hoc basis depending on which particular range is free at the time the user logs on. So technically you are considering anyone who uses the IP the vandal despite the fact it could be someone quite different. Also, being that you are only 17, that gives me cause to restrain from using wkipedia. How can someone of such young age have the life experience and knowledge to administor a web site such as this? Yes you can glean information from the Web but, this information is vague at the best of times and quite random. 79.74.43.196 (talk) 18:02, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know that it isn't static. Regardless, I decided to let the block remain, primarily due to the vandal edits by the IP and subsequent requests for unblock. I realize that the IP could be used for both good and bad, but anyone who wished to contribute positively could simply create an account.
In terms of my age and the consequences it has on my abilities as an administrator, I don't think its an issue. I'm not sure what "life experience" is needed to administrate a site, but so far I think I'm holding my own. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 20:02, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD discussion on Saw films' traps

[edit]

Hey, you may not realise this, but your questioning of the Keep !votes in that AfD for the traps in the Saw films is starting to look a little like badgering. Just let people say their peace -- constantly questioning why people feel the way they do is not strengthening your argument for deletion (it is quite the opposite effect, actually). I hope all is well -- nice to see you online. Ecoleetage (talk) 17:50, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have a right to question, of course. But go easy -- by challenging almost everyone who disagrees with the proposed deletion, you're not helping your cause. You made a cogent point in the nomination -- let the other editors discuss this. Thanks. Ecoleetage (talk) 23:39, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I just saw your last comment to me on the AfD after I posted the above message and I switched my !vote to Strong Keep based on your most recent remark. While you have every right to feel passionate about killing that article, I really think you overplayed your hand and the result will be the saving of the article. Ecoleetage (talk) 23:52, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think we're in parallel conversations. I enjoy a debate and an exchange of opinions, but I respect when people have views that differ from mine. But I have never begun an AfD discussion where I am constantly badgering everyone who disagrees with me -- in fact, I've given Rescue from Deletion Barnstars to people who confounded my attempts to get an article deleted! Just leave the AfD alone -- I am sure the closing admin can separate the wisdom from the muck and make the proper decision. Thanks and be well. Ecoleetage (talk) 00:14, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, you may want to investigate the latest Keep !vote: User:Jigsaw23, who literally showed up with this discussion as his very first Wiki input. There may be some socking going on, which would help your cause. Thanks. Ecoleetage (talk) 00:39, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Final word: The constant badgering of people who disagree with you in a blatant attempt to sway the opinion of an AfD closing admin is actually closer to "obnoxious" rather than "productive." Please don't do this again. Thanks. Ecoleetage (talk) 10:34, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
First post-final word message: This is actually a message for any potential TPSs who stumble upon this exchange -- MoP and I have known each other for a while and he "adopted" me when I started to become an active editor. We are able to have a mature exchange of opinions without acrimony, and our disagreements are in the spirit of friendship. I am posting this particular message to prevent a reprise of a previous situation where an earlier disagreement I had on this Talk Page was yanked completely out of context and used for utterly malicious purposes. And now, as a special treat for the impressionable young lads and jaded middle-aged men in the Wiki audience...here's Raquel Welch: [2]. Ecoleetage (talk) 12:38, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Second post-final word message: As per your comment "That's why I'm questioning some keep votes (and delete votes too, mind you); to encourage some discussion" -- unless I missed something, you never questioned any of the delete votes in that particular AfD. And speaking of articles -- do you ever write any articles? I don't recall seeing any articles written by you. Thanks. Ecoleetage (talk) 16:38, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ItsLassieTime

[edit]

User:ItsLassieTime is once again edit warring over at Timmy Martin (television character). I made valid changes to bring the article inline with the TV MoS for characters, but she doesn't like it and so keeps reverting it and claiming ownership of the article yet again, and falsely claiming I have made 3 reverts. I made the fix in four back to back edits.[3] She reverted because she doesn't like it[4], and I restored[5] having also left notes on her talk page that she is completely ignoring. She reverted again, as have I, which makes 2 reverts each. Since she ignores anyone who is not an admin attempting to talk to her, can you have a word with her about her continued claims of ownership over articles and refusal to follow existing, consensus backed guidelines. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 05:22, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please LOCK articles Lassie (1954 TV series), Paul Martin (television character), and Ruth Martin (television character). Collectonian recently nominated two of them for deletion and consensus weighed strongly against such deletion. Collectonian has followed me from one Lassie article to the next vexatiously reverting my work time and again. In MHO, she hasn't added anything of significance to any of the articles but is simply positioning herself as "owner" and antagonist. I believe she has a collie and feels some sort of need to "own" and "protect" anything mentioning said dogs at WP. She hasn't touched the Lassie articles in months and as soon as I made a recent attempt to edit, she zipped in with her reverts. I have strongly considered registering a "stalking" and "harassment" complaint with the administration but I don't know the procedure. Her conduct is extremely vexatious and unwarranted. I would appreciate any advice in how to cope with this editor. Thank you! ItsLassieTime (talk) 05:58, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, I do not "have" (or own) a collie, thanks for the accusation (and considering your user name, such questions about my neutrality are rather humorous...). Anyone looking at the history of the Lassie article can easily see I was there long before you were and its been noted before on my user page as a topic of interest. I visited the Paul and Ruth Martin articles while going through my to do list. If you want to make such a serious accusation as claiming I'm stalking or harassing you, I suggest you back it up very quickly with some actual evidence or strike those remarks. I've been wikistalked, thanks, so trust me, I know your remarks are beyond unfounded and extremely uncivil. I also demand evidence to back up your beyond false claim that I am "following" you around and "vexatiously reverting" your edits. So far in the last week, you have falsely accused me of sockpupptry, of collusion, of lacking neutrality, and now stalking and harassment. Frankly, I'm getting very tired of your slandering remarks. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 06:14, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You haven't touched the Lassie articles in months. I left months ago rather than deal with the incessant reverts and malicious destruction of sourced and carefully researched information for nothing more than putting your oar forth and saying, "This is my article! Touch it if you dare!" Now I come back to edit (hoping you're not lurking about and hoping you've taken the articles off your watchlist) but nope! there you are again with the incessant reverts and edit conflicts. There is absolutely nothing wrong with good work that warrants the incessant reverts. Your reverts are frivolous and vexatious. I notice on your talk page and archives that you have a knack for antagonizing other editors. I do think an adminstrator should moderate the Lassie articles because your incessant reverts and nominations for deletion are damaging, negative, and counterproductive. ItsLassieTime (talk) 06:36, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not the one who has reverted MULTIPLE editors attempting to edit the article. Let's see...FIVE reverts on the image removal from the Timmy article. Nor do I run around demanding people leave your articles alone and attempt to "protect" them by throwing UC tags on them then just leaving them there. You won't allow anyone to work "with" you on the articles, but make it clear that you will only be happy if you are left alone to do whatever you like. When others disagree, you make a glut of personal attacks, as is clearly shown on the talk page of the Timmy article. Another editor supported the image removal, and you slandered him and me by calling us socks. A third supported, you called it collusion and ganging up on you. I'm not the one being antagonizing and contentious here. You have extreme ownership issues and refuse to even acknowledge your many inappropriate actions and words here. And sorry, but nominating articles of characters that appear to be unnotable for deletion and attempting to apply standards to articles is neither damaging, negative, nor counterproductive. Your ridiculous and wild accusations and constant personal attacks, however, are. My talk page and archives also show I work with far more editors than I "antagonize". I've been editing a long time and have over 30,000 edits under my belt. Admins have a lot of the same sort of complaints when they deal with issues, so I guess they are also "damaging, negative, and counterproductive." And at least I didn't run around AfDing notable characters out of some weird retribution over two character articles you like being AfDed. And despite your constant nasty attitude, I have not made false accusations against you, as you have repeatedly done with me. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 06:45, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Your incessant reverts and nominations for deletion are frivolous, vexatious, time-consuming, negative, counterproductive, and IMO damgaing to WP and its goals. Rearranging the Timmy article into various sections with a hard-nosed "This is according to guideleines" ignores the spirit of WP while applying its "Letter of the Law".

"When creating an article on a single character of a television show, note that the section headers below are not >>>>>> mandatory, and several featured articles on fictional characters have different section headers (and placement) than one another.<<<<<<< Find the structure that works best for the article in question; regardless of whether you use these headers, the information that they discuss is important to establishing an article with real world context."

You should discuss your intentions of radically altering sections and headers on the Talk Page before frivolously and vexatiously reverting, creating edit conflicts, and destroying forever carefully researched and valuable material and information. Hold on a sec, guys. Don't focus on who reverted who or what you think the other guy is trying to do by reverting you. Let's leave the past where it belongs and just focus on the now; why, with plenty of explanation and citing of policy, should your way come through, Lassie? And you, Collectonian? Remember, don't comment on each others' editing style - I'll handle that if anyone steps out of line. Focus on the issue at hand. Thanks! Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 00:18, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry...after all the personal attacks, false accusations, slandering of my editing ethics, and rather over the top reactions to what are normally considered fairly basic and standard edits, its hard to continue retaining civility with this editor. I also left a note on my user page in response to your last remarks there. Didn't know if you caught those or not. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 01:45, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, in case you weren't aware, here is the discussion I started at the TV project regarding which version is best, but alas, it has gotten derailed. Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television#Lassie headaches, and despite your request here, ItsLassieTime has posted new personal attacks there. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 02:16, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I've tried being civil and avoid responding to ItsLassieTimes continuing personal attacks and stick with the issues, but she is still at it and nothing is being done about it. That doesn't seem fair to me, but I've learned long ago that Wikipedia isn't very fair at times. Hopefully someone in the project will pick up the slack and help fix the articles, but probably not. One reason I stopped being so active in the project. Anime/Manga and Film seem to be far more proactive about conflicts and issues. If I agree to walk away from all of the Lassie television articles (i.e. the series articles and the Martin character/actor articles), do you think she might agree to do the same regarding the film articles. Then, perhaps, we won't have any more clashes? -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 15:34, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a poke to see if you can you ask ItsLassieTime to consider or respond to my idea that I will avoid the Lassie television articles if she avoids the film articles and therefore we won't have anymore clashes. I really do not feel like having to go through this regularly. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 04:45, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah well, too late. I corrected some errors she made in editing Courage of Lassie (an article I've had on my watch list since April when I edited it), and she immediately went all hysterical and renewed her threats to report me for "stalking and harassement".[6] Any advice? I can't imagine the way she responses to this stuff is acceptable, nor her seeming intention to not allow me to edit any Lassie article if she has edited it as well? -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 05:23, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AribaWeb deletion

[edit]

I am not sure why this article has been flagged for speedy deletion. AribaWeb is a open source java web development framework (not a website, blog, ...), much like the hundreds of such frameworks documented on Wikipedia (and listed here: http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/List_of_web_application_frameworks).

As I've attempted to highlight in the article text, AribaWeb is more notable than many of the other frameworks already covered on Wikipedia because it 1) is one of the first frameworks of its kind, 2) has been proven in real world deployment (millions of user desktops, hundred of thousands of companies, hundreds of billions of dollars of commerce), and 3) has a number of technically novel capabilities. In that sense it seems at least as worth of coverage as these other frameworks already listed on wikipedia:

SmartClient Click Framework Reasonable Server Faces Aranea framework RIFE

I am not a member of the company that originally developed this product (Ariba) nor am I a member of the open source AribaWeb development team. However, I have been an observer of the recent developments in the Java web application development space and I believe that AribaWeb merits coverage in Wikipedia. If there is something procedurally that I have done incorrectly please let me know. Thank you! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.200.223.179 (talk) 01:30, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am back and forth to the UK a lot. Several treks into Europe. South Asia, Australia, NZ. Back and forth from Detroit to the west coast. It's really been quite a blur. For all the guitars I own I am on a quest to find the "perfect" Tele. I thought I had a good candidate in Northern California. It was a mid 60s burst. But it had a couple of issues and the seller wanted way too much money. So my quest rolls on. No rush on the userpage. I will be around, off and on, as long as Wiki is still here to be around for. Maybe next year, haha! Maybe 2011. I will probably still be lurking somewhere. Cheers! Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 01:57, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
HA! Do you REALLY want to know what I think about PRS guitars? I have never owned one. Nor do I plan to ever own one. I do not hate them. And, yes, they are extremely well crafted machines. Almost pieces of art in some ways. But the price on them does not reflect what they really are. And, for some reason, every time I've played one I just felt they were kind-of "cold". But that's just me. From the very first time I saw a PRS I thought... "hmmm that really looks like a Hamer"... And if you've ever played a Hamer you'll know that they are just as nice (if not nicer) than a PRS and they cost half as much. [7] My thoughts anyways. Cheers MoP! [edit]

(same message to three deleting admins) Hello all. Just letting you know that I have restored the article Speedometors which all three of you speedy deleted (two A7s and one A3). I don't object to submitting the article for deletion but clearly there was a claim of notability and 1970s bands that anyone still cares about probably is notable enough by the fairly generous standards of the en.wiki! I'll try to solidify the article with a few references. Pascal.Tesson (talk) 17:26, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Life Church South Korea

[edit]

Dear Master of Puppets,

Thanks for your hard work at Wikipedia. I would just like to mention to you that I was the one who wrote the article for Life Church South Korea. I noticed that you had it deleted almost immediately. I fully agree with the policies of Wikipedia and your hard work of examining the article.

However, I do want to highlight that I was still in the process of creating that article. What I did not write, since when I returned to finish the article it was already deleted, was that:

1) Life Church is significant because it is one of the very few international congregations in Korea which are not run by larger Korean church leadership. Many mega churches in Korea have their own international services in different languages, but due to purely Korean perspective of leadership and lack of global understanding, international congregations are usually told what to do by their greater Korean leadership. This gives them very little freedom and limits their potentials as truly international congregations. It is almost like attending worship services in English and other languages but at the same time being forced to fit into Korean culture unnecessarily. In this regard, Life Church is unique because it is not attached to any Korean congregation. In fact, it caters for Korean Christians by providing live translation of the English service into Korean language. In other words, while most international ministries in Korea are really "Korean ministries engaging in other languages", Life Church is like "an international congregation accommodating all cultures and languages including Korean". This is a very new concept in Korea.

2) Life Church in South Korea is significant because it serves as the Asian headquarters of a Christian mission agency called "Christ for the World" (http://c4w.org/) which is heavily involved in mission works in the Himalayas (northern India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, etc.) This too is very unique in Korea, where most churches are engaged in foreign missions as a means to expand their own church network and missions is usually a small subset of many activities the churches undertake. But Life Church exists for missions. Barely 2 years old, the church has gone on missions trips four times to the Himalayas and a few times to the North Korea / China border. Life Church gives more than 10% of all its budget directly to overseas missions, mostly for supporting children's home in Nepal and frontier missionaries in Northern India where there are very few Christians.

These are just two of many reasons I thought that Life Church deserves an article on Wikipedia.

I am willing and ready to comply with your policies if you so decide that Life Church should not be listed on Wikipedia, but it is my sincere hope that Wikipedia carries an article on Life Church because many Christians in Korea will certainly agree that Life Church is quite unique in many ways.

Thanks. Hope to hear from you soon.

Lassie Articles

[edit]

Another go-around with Collectonian. I recently went to Courage of Lassie to edit. After my first edit I was ambushed by Collectonian who (as in the recent past) reverted all of my work with a "I own this article" stance. Collectonian hasn't touched Courage of Lassie since April and is suddenly descended on the article only because I am. It is extremely scary to have one person following you about at Wikipedia and continually reverting your work and then threatening you with being blocked because you correct her errors! ItsLassieTime (talk) 08:40, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Coll is repeatedly stating I'm making a factual error in the plot section of Courage of Lassie and deletes the information. I am not making an error. The dog is swept away in a torrent in the film and then shot. Coll has not seen the film, or is recalling something seen years ago, or is watching an edited version. I am sick of having to replace this information time after time because she insists it's an error. I am watching the film at this moment. ItsLassieTime (talk) 09:18, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I have to say, I'm not 100% happy with your closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Saw: The Ride. Of course, I !voted keep, so I'm glad it was kept, but your reason perplexes me: "The result was speedy keep, given that this exists." - I exist, but I'm not notable enough for an article on Wikipedia :P. I'd much rather that this AfD had been kept open and allowed to run it's course, than to be closed early with this (in my opinion) poor reason. Could I ask why you closed the AfD early? Bob Griffin

[edit]

I saw that you speedily deleted Bob Griffin. I'm not sure about the detail. Did the article you delete include any of that? Thanks. Americasroof (talk) 23:07, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please be careful with removing backlinks to names of speedy deleted articles? With a common name like this, you're removing links to many people who had nothing to do with the subject of the deleted article - which in this case was just pure vandalism, and had nothing to do with notability anyway. Hi, Just wanted to ask you what solid proof you have that Tupac was born in Harlem and not Brooklyn and if you have not got the proof then why would you object to putting a reference to both areas in his biography. Also Tupac was born Lesane Parish Crooks and his mother Alice Faye Crooks, could you not have that as his birth name seeing as that is what it is? And I am new to wikipedia and not sure how it works, I though anyone could make a contribution to a page??? Could you please explain why you are controlling Tupacs page why can't I control it or someone else? There are a few things I would like to change, for example the picture. How does wikipedia work??!!

I also feel that the introductory for his page is misleading as to who he was. Having rape, suge and prison at the beginning of his biography is unfair and quite frankly, lazy. Obviously you have to have a reference to his murder but I feel the page could be better written and organised. There doesn't seem to be any mention of his girlfriends either?? Could you let me know how wikipedia is working because I would really like to contribute to his page and I don't think it's fair that you aren't allowing me to.

Assuming we're discussing the suicide bombings, I can see room in trimming the background a bit after the addition of the Jenin related data. [edit]

Hey there. Rather than leave one of those tacky templates, I thought I would alert you via personalized message that I put the stub about the University of Central Arkansas shootings up for AfD: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2008 University of Central Arkansas shootings. I tried to expand it into a worthy article, and I kept monitoring the story all day. But, unfortunately, it appears to be little more than a local crime story and not something of long-lasting historic encyclopedic value. I don't see the point in merging it, since it appears to be an isolated incident. You are welcome to Speedy Delete it, rather than allow it to take up space. Hope all is well with you. When I last checked, they had two suspects in custody and were seeking two others. I can't say that I see anything unusual, let alone encyclopedic, happening there. It was a worthwhile endeavour...but, sadly, the U.S. has become so violent that this type of happening barely cracks a whimper of concern outside of the community where it takes place. Hi.

[edit]

On your indef block of Bp1288 (whom I had given a final warning) I thought I would point out that the reason you could only see only vandalism on their contribution history was that their attempt to write two articles had failed speedy delete for advertisement (I did the speedy deletes). That isn't to say your block was wrong or that attempting to write two articles is enough sign of a positive contribution to mean we should welcome them but I thought I would let you know, cos making some positive attempt would be part of the calculation and I wouldn't have picked up deleted articles. Since then I think the legal threat thing also qualifies for an indef block so its only of academic interest. --BozMo talk 20:15, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Right ok, well I still don't understand because I changed the location of Tupac's birth from being East Harlem to Brooklyn or East Harlem because no one is entirely sure. Then I got a message from you saying "Please don't change Tupac's location of birth without discussing it on the talk page first"?? I thought anyone could contribute and I'm getting tired of wikipedia. It seems everytime I try to conribute something it is deleted as if one person created and therefore owns that page! You know, I am absolutely certain this guy is a returning vandal. I've seen those image violations on Filipino actresses before, not to mention the edit warring. Help

[edit]

Hey, remember me? Recently, one of the pages I've been watching is currently in the middle of an edit war. User:90.196.3.218 on the Islam and Sikhism and Talk:Islam and Sikhism pages. He's been deleting stuff because he says it insults Islam. Other users and I have tried to talk to him and start a discussion. Whenever we prove him wrong though, he just starts a new topic, and accuses us all of being sock/meat puppets. We all have told him to stop deleting the information, as it's valuable information, and just accuses us all of trying to convert people to Sikhism (though I'm Atheist). Are these good enough reasons to try to get a block on him? Deavenger (talk) 22:15, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for Replying. Um, the potential superpower article is good so far. Goingoveredge stopped posting, and later when I looked, he was banned because he was another confirmed sockpuppet of Hkelar or something like that. Which is good, as I'm trying to finish up the subsection for China, though I'm reading some more books on the subject so I can add more. Though I don't expect it to stay safe for long, as the potential superpower and superpower pages are huge POV magnets for everybody, either wanting to add their own country, or trying to use non-academic sources (news sources written by people who aren't considered experts in the field). I even checked with the Reliable Sources notice board to see if News sources written by people who don't have a polisci, IR, Geopolitic degree should be accepted, and they agreed with us when saying that the authors should have a degree in polisci, IR, or Geopolitics. But, from what I understand from the other users, many of the articles, Superpower, Potential Superpower, Regional Power, etc. have always been controversal. But I'm hoping, once I'm done with the subsections for Potential Superpower, I can nominate it for a Good article. Deavenger (talk) 06:24, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. The IP is under a new thing similar. I told him that you already warned him in a way. And he's still doing it.Deavenger (talk) 21:56, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yeah, about the IP accusing me of being a Sikh, the article he was talking about Khalistan get's plenty of attention from both Sikh and Hindu Fundamentals. And there have been plenty of times that Sikh fundamentals have accused me of being a Hindu fanatic, though I'm just keeping the article at consencus. Multiple ID's

[edit]

WRT Islam & Sikhsim page, could you kindly check the multiple ID's for Ajjay aka Shalimer aka Beetle CT aka Irek Biernat (claims now to be Polish ???!) as if ? The dates left and joined would indicate; also there seems to be a concerted effort by certain Sikhs to associate their faith with Islam when in fact they are two distinct faiths and the subtle expressions used to degrade Muslims (which is ignored in discussion) - Thanks

The user Deavenger claims not to be a Sikh but I've noticed lots of posts related to Sikh Extremism ?? Makes you wander ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.3.246 (talkcontribs) 22:18, 30 October 2008

Just because someone is interested in a subject doesn't mean they are fanatical about it. If I edit a lot of Nazi articles that doesn't make me a Nazi.
Now, in terms of your accusation of the editors being sockpuppets; I don't think so. They joined at completely different times; User:Sikh-history September 2006, User:Deavenger July 2007, User:Irek Biernat October 2008. If they are sockpuppets they're incredibly talented at editing in completely opposing and different matters.
Now, on to your editing; I've had to lock the Islam and Sikhism page due to your constant revisions. Please discuss this on the talk page; if your edits are against consensus, do not keep editing. Otherwise you will end up rangeblocked, and that won't help at all. Thank you for cooperating, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 03:07, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I accept your argument, it is valid, from an outside the box view if I may say so but as someone who in his 40's has been observing religious fundamentalism with specific agendas, then its not difficult to spot traits of users who are vehemently vocal to disappear only to see a new user with the same traits carrying on the same arguments.

The users above you mention are not the same user I have pointed out on many occasions you only have to see when they joined and when they stopped.

Wait, so you mean that they're not the same person but they're working together to deface articles about Islam? Do you have any "diffs" to support this? Otherwise, it seems quite far-fetched, especially seeing that I've observed Deavenger work before on completely unrelated topics in a similar manner (that is, he isn't focusing on Islamic articles and he's not being negative).
Also, while yes, some people may lie about their religion or lack thereof to further a goal, I don't believe this group of editors is doing so. If you believe they are pushing a point of view again, please provide a diff and I'll look into it and deal with it appropriately. Thank you, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 06:21, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, this user (Ajjay > Shalimer > Beetle CT > Irek Biernet) is the same user, please see the dates he joined and changed and see when the other left- it will be quite evident.

Now as for Sikh-History and our young friend, Deavenger, there is and as has been mentioned the issue of Sikh Theocratic Terrorism or Khalistan, the usual argument - one side said this and the other said that and so on... - if people want to use wikipedia for terrorist, political or fundamentalist fronts then I don't have a problem with that, although its not something I would do or promote but what I do think everyone expects is actual facts and not using this platform to propagate one religion over another or using religion or distorting religion in order to propagate political agendas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.3.246 (talk) 06:34, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll look into Ajjay and co. Meanwhile, if Deavenger can cite his sources then adding such information is perfectly acceptable and certainly not terrorism; any side's views are welcome to be represented if backed up by sourcing. Also, can you provide a link to this? For example, this links to your previous edit to this page. It is a diff. Could you provide one of Deavenger's alleged actions? Searching his contributions may help. Thanks, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 06:38, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi MOP, 90.196.3.246's own acts prove his extremist/fundamentalist idiology and his ruthless ways to suppress others voice. Please see section "Islam and Sikhism Vs 90.196.3.37 alias 90.196.3.246" in your talk page which I have dedicated to this respected user and his idiology only. --Singh6 (talk) 07:26, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, if you look at the discussion Islam & Sikhism, a (genuine Sikh) from Punjab mentioned it is unheard of that Sikhs eat Beef, I also noticed our young friend Deavenger contradicting this; its just another pathetic immature attempt to align Sikhism with Islam and distance itself from its roots. I cant care less about their daily dietary changes but I hope it gives you some insight into what I previously stated.

Many of the sources you will get from them will no doubt be biased and it wont be easy to differentiate the real from the propagated material unless you have researched from historical perspectives. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.3.246 (talk) 07:06, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If those sources are biased, what sources would you consider fair and neutral? Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 07:23, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • 90.196.3.246's point is wrong :: Sikhism does not prohibit Sikhs from eating Beef. The only prohibtion is about eating meat prepared in Kutha Halal[3] way. The reason it is not being consumed by most of the Sikhs in Punjab is its non-availability. Punjab (India) Govt does not allow slaughtering cows/buffalos so that it could maintain religious harmoney in the state, which I believe is totally justified. Succumbing to the Hindu community's pressure, Punjab Govt had even closed the only meat processing plant set up in Punjab[4]. We, Sikhs who live out of India do eat available Non-Halal meat of Lamb, chicken, pork or Beef etc.--Singh6 (talk) 07:17, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, MOP, the best academic (unbiased) would be Professor Mark Juergensmeyer, University of California, Santa Barbara, there is a brillinat thesis on Bhindranwale the Sikh equivalent of Osama Bin Laden.

Unfortunately many of our Theocratic friends have tried to erase him from Wikipedia.

Another brillinat award winning investigative journalist is Kim Bolan, unfortunately she's had quite a few death threats for exposing certain things.

You get the pic.

Hi Mop, glad you agree, answer is I have many times, but the fundamentalist mentality is a not a compromising one, but certainly a very deceptive one, its a problem nevertheless as you see below. I'll carry on the discussion on the Islam and Sikhism page, as this is your talk page. Regds —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.3.246 (talk) 23:21, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Funny, that you of all people are calling me a fundamentalist. If I really wanted to be a fundamentalist, I would start deleting large tracts of info because I think it insults my personal belief, alot like you do. Strange how fundamentalists work eh. One final note. I love how you really accuse me of immature. After all, I remove large tracts of information because I consider it insultful, despite the fact other Muslims in the page didn't find it insultful. Whenever someone tries to discuss this issue with me, I just call them sockpuppets and just go one saying how it's an insult to Islam. And after 3 times of someone trying to discuss with me, I keep on deleting info, but when they revert my edits, I call them a sockpuppet, and then say discuss. I also call everybody who disagrees with me a fundamentalist.Deavenger (talk) 23:44, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Okay. 1. Like MOP said, he does lots of edits about nazis. Does that make him a nazi. No, he just knows a lot about them. Same about Khalistan. I disagree with Khalistan, and if you look at the majority of my edits on the Khalistan page, it's reverting POV put there by Khalistanis.
  • You said that I was able to say that Sikhs can be vegetarian or meat eaters, despite the fact I said I was atheist. Hmm, I know that Hindus can't eat beef, Muslims and Jews can't eat pork, and Jains can't eat meat. according to you, tha tmeans I'm a Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Jew, and Jain. Or it's simply that I know some stuff about each religion.
  • You also accuse me and Sikh history of being sockpuppets because we both worked on the same article of Khalistan. hmm, Khalistan would fall under the category of Sikh history, and I know about some of the stuff of the Khalistan ideal or whatever. Me and MOP worked on 2008 Assam bombings and Superpower page. Does that make us sockpuppets? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Deavenger (talkcontribs) 18:30, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • About the guy who was a 'genuine sikh'. No, he never said he was Sikh. He said he was from Punjab. Which Punjab is a Sikh majority, there are plenty of Hindus. And guess what, in all of India, you don't find many beef meals. In fact, go to the subways and mcdonalds there, you don't see anything beef on the menu. Plus, if you look at the Sikh holy book or what the gurus said, they said Sikhs could eat meat. Just do 10 minutes of research. If someone goes, "hey, it says that muslims are supposed to make a journey to mecca, but I know many muslims who don't do that." Then some other guy goes "in the Koran, it says that Muslims should make a pilgrimage to mecca atleast once in their lifetime." Is that just a immature attempt at making Islam like some other religion that says you should make a pilgrimage?
  • There's a whole page to dedictated the criticism of Islam and Christianity. Are you going to go to those pages deleting everything saying how this is a push by extremisits. Everything you were deleting on the Islam and Sikhism page was valuable information, as it was Sikhs view on Islam from the Sikh holy book. Because Sikhism is basically a mix of Hinduism and Islam, there's plenty of verses talking about Muslims. If the time Sikhism and Islam switched places on which religion came first, The Koran would have lots of verses talking about Sikhs. If you don't like that, fine. If you think it insults Islam, too bad. I don't think those verses insulted any religion, and there's always going to be stuff that insults one religion or another. It's not that we're posting "hahaha, ________ (insert religion here) are evil, our religion of ________ is better" we're posting what one of the religions holy book says about another religion. Wikipedia is not to be censored for one religion. Hell, some of the Khalistanis, when there were too many Hindus and Sikhs reverting their edits, they left wikipedia to another wiki thing and started to have their own propanda there.
  • You said that you wouldn't promote political or fundamental or other fronts, you would never do that? That's all you've been doing. You deleted large amounts of information because you thought it was an insult to Islam. There are plenty of information on wikipedia that insults Hindus (my former belief), Atheists, etc. But I don't go deleting all those unless they're just plain insulting like fuck hindus or kill all sikhs. We have tried 3 times to discuss this with you. 3 TIMES. And I even said in one of my earlier edits, that no more editing until all the editors have discussed this issue. You still didn't join in the discussion. In fact, when people started discussing the issue with you, you just accused them of being sockpuppets, and saying it's further insulting Islam. It wasn't until I started reverting your edits like other users that you said to discuss, despite the fact that me and other users have tried to discuss this three times. So don't expect me to start treating you with respect. We have tried to discuss the issue with you multiple times, and you just keep calling us sockpuppets or fundamentalists. If someone like MOP did the same thing, even if they were admins, I would not have any respect for them either. Deavenger (talk) 18:19, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Deletion Question

[edit]

Hi; I need to know why you deleted the logo for Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue. You said the image was not free, bla, bla. I find it odd that you deleted that logo, but not the logos for the Volunteer Battalion, or Pipes and Drums. I'm not upset... I'm just wanting to know. I've never had an issue with this logo being anywhere, let alone an informative page about the department I work with. Myself, and a Captain in the department are the ones that edit and validate the information on that page, and use only the logos given to us as employees/volunteers of the department to use. Please let me know if you see a reason why I shouldn't upload the same logo, to the same place, again, to replace the deleted image.

Thank You! Aaron M. Lang (talk) 22:07, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Respected Sir/Madam, I hate mentioning that respected User talk:90.196.3.246 alias User Talk: 90.196.3.37 is not trustworthy and 'is using wrong means to force his extremist ideaology in Islam and Sikhism– Proofs:

  • He openely lied. He deleted the contents from an editor's talk page by himself at 19:55, 24 October 2008 and then lied immediately afterwards at 19:57, 24 October 2008. It appears that he can go to any extent to achieve his targets.
  • Editors tried to engage him in discussions but he kept running away from giving reasonable answers and kept shouting “Insult to Islam” – “Insult to Islam” to further his/her goals.
  • I (a 2nd editor) tried to pacify him but he still could not come up with any proof and kept his hyperbole
1 Gurudwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur
2 Guru Nanak's Grave (where his muslim followers burried half of his shawl)
3 Guru Nanak's Samadhi (where his Non-Muslim followers cremated the remaining half of his shawl).

then instead of putting any positive replies/arguments, 90.196.3.218 started shouting “Further Insults to Islam and Muslims” and “multiple IDs”. Even though the provided proofs exist inside a Muslim Country “Pakistan”, but this user again vandalized the article. How would you prove when this respected user is adamant to further his extremist idiology.

  • When editors tried to engage him in discussions, he opposed our constructive opposition to his vandalism by calling all the opposition as "Sockpuppets". The only hyperbole he used to kill/delete legitimate references was his repeated slogan "Insult to Islam" - "Insult to Islam". He is talking about extremism but in reality this respected editor's own edits are proving his extremist nature. I have never edited any Islamic article other than this one and I have even great respect for this great religion. His/Her attitude is in no way different than destroying Budha's statues in Bamyan, Afghanistan because some extremists thought that those were against their Islamic principles.

Hi MOP, how's it going?

There's lot of hypocracy going on here for example my talk page has an anonymous 117.96.160.243 user demanding I have a user ID ? Weird dont you think, anyway its nothing new, you just cant tell a fundamentalist(s) he's wrong.

Anyway I will try to answer the various points.

About the Insult to Islam on the blocked page in question.

How can a Muslim ie a folower of Prophet Mohammed be a follower of Sikhism's founder ? By definition he would be a Sikh, now to refer to their 'Bhai Mardana' as a 'Muslim' is simply insulting to Islam, by definition a follower of Sikhism's founder may be classed as a Sikh or even a Sufi (many Sufis would even disagree to that even as Nanak is not mentioned on any Islamic portal) as the Sufi movement was prevalent in Medieval India and represented the symbiosis or synergy of esoteric Islam & Bhaktism. Labelling this guy as a 'Muslim' is very misleading and IS simply being used to leave the impression to the reader that Muslims converted to Nanak's Sikhism, which is utterly false as Nanaks travels to Islamic coutries will testify as to why his mission failed there. (something you wont find many so called Sikh-Historians admitting too, although they might throw in a twist or two on Wiki)

Many of the fundamentalists complaining I'm some kind of extremist ?

Now, I'd like to see where I have anything to do with that. However, I could show a huge crossover of Sikh terrorism, or Sikh terrorist groups and their supporters that edit much of the stuff on Wiki. But thats not going to be done in one day, I don't promote extremism, I refute it. (Its pretty obvious) I don't know where he got the Bamiyan reference regarding me, I'd like to see where my IP is used WRT Bamiyan ??? (Hypothetical accusations)

As you notice, lot of these editors are pro-fundamentalist although as I said before many try to hide behind the veil of 'atheism' or 'Patriots' or whatever; you do begin to notice a pattern, for example the same types who say flight 182 was an inside Job ie not bombed by Sikh fundamentalists (Khalistanis) but by The Canadian or Indian Governments, and as I mentioned before journalists like Kim Bolan have been targets for death threats for exposing these fundamentalists, and I don't see my case as any different.

As I said, if these people (who clearly have ideological objectives) want to use wiki to promote their new terrorist ideas via religious output, then thats their problem.

I will side on the likes of Kim Bolan, moderation, balance and investigative journalism for exposing the truth and reality, who Like myself has also been classed as some kind of extremist Ideologist and received death threats by the same people with the same ideology. (Please see her article and history deletions) you will get the pic.

http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Kim_Bolan&action=history

And I repeat many of our theocratic friends will go under various patriotic guises or call themselves atheists.

I was accused of editing the discussion page but no one said anything when a fundamentalist deletes it including his own talk page which had warnings but when Beetle CT (Sockpuppet) did it, the silence was deafening!

see this:

http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User_talk:Beetle_CT

Beetle CT ceased editing on here on Oct 21st and suddenly

see this http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Special:Contributions/Irek_Biernat he becomes a Polish migrant to India, its hilarious.

Even Jeff G spotted it

http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Jeff_G.&diff=prev&oldid=248661549

If I was to start a thread Sikh women converting to Islam, there would be an outcry

Also I noticed that both the Islam and Sikhsim pages are also blocked for pretty much the same reasons, until Sikhs can differentiate between Sufism and Islam there shouldn't be a problem

Again, back to the issue I think its obvious that a follower of Nanak is a Sikh and should be labelled correctly as so not as a Muslim. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.3.246 (talk) 15:09, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I did not join wikipedia on Oct 21st or afterwards, so stop lying. . Remember, article Islam and Sikhism is blocked from editing only for un-established editors like you. You are destroying "Wikipedia", a free educational source with your acts. Also, please look at your edit summaries, how can you even think of using word idiot on Wikipedia. I think it will be better for you to defend your self, discuss your your own history and answer all the issues raised by several editors --Irek Biernat (talk) 19:37, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great respect to the Master!

[edit]

Some few weeks ago, you deleted an encyclopedia entry related to an over aspiring 'film maker' (ie. Los Angeles F-list non celebrity) by the name of http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Bart_Hendrikx.

He has slithered his way back into your encyclopedia and again, self-authored his article. Please delete this again as it is a detriment to the Wiki foundation when a nowbody uses the forum for self promotion and, as stated earlier, this is a con man who took me for >US$10000 and one who uses his irrelevent wiki profile to boost his credibility on and off line.

Be certain that there is no company registed as Venswich or similar registered in California nor the Netherlands. All of the references in the article are again authored by Bart and those that are not are of such little significance they do not warrant inclusion.

Much abliged and keep up the good work! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.201.61.206 (talk) 19:09, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The only problem is that the page is fully cited; I'm not going to delete an article with factual information. It didn't prove notability before, but the references added now seem to qualify Hendrikx for at least a stub. Thank you for wanting to improve Wikipedia, though! :) Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 04:06, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism by user 'Sikh History'

[edit]

Islam and Sikhsim page

This guy says Hajj is a crucial part of Islam ??

I wanted to point out that Hajj is the Fifth Pillar of Islam, these and other continued distortions by this user is unfair, his edits should be reversed.

Pillars of Islam

Hi MOP, this has been reverted.

I wouldnt worry too much about these fundamentalists, the person who shouts the loudest is usually in the wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.3.246 (talk) 10:28, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

query posted to wrong editor's talk page re: Battle of Goma

[edit]

Hi, you have posted a query to the wrong editor, which your link on the edit diff will show to you. Copy below of the mis-placed item.

Battle of Goma
Hi! You stated that the reference didn't say anything like that, when this is what it says; "Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts intensified to find a peaceful, long-term solution to the current conflict.

The top U.S. diplomat for Africa, Assistant Secretary of State Jendayi Frazer, was to meet with Congo President Joseph Kabila in Kinshasa Thursday, and may travel to Rwanda to see President Paul Kagame, Deputy State Department spokesman Robert Wood told reporters in Washington.
Wood said Frazer, who is accompanied by a senior researcher from the National Security Council, will try to "get all of the parties to agree to respect international law and human rights."
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice also spoke with Kagame and was in touch with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, Wood said."

It states that diplomatic efforts intensified; then, after saying who spoke to Kagame about peace, says "... Rice also spoke with Kagame."
See what I'm saying? Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 00:34, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yellowdesk (talk) 01:13, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey sorry man, for some reason when I read the article I thought it said that Rice may meet with the Congo prime minister...sorry again. I have found a lot of research and interviews pointing to the U.S as the instigator for this attack because of Congo's trade deals with China. The U.S has always meddled in Congo affairs i.e assasinating president Lumumubu in 1960 and causing massive civl wars, so if you find anything please lemme know I'm trying to add a section to it with all of the interviews. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PlasticJesus341 (talkcontribs) 04:36, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The first link is not from a credible website, but they quote an interview that took place on the BBC with a U.N representative and he points out that the U.S may be an instigator in this conflict http://ww4report.com/node/6255. Here's a financial times editorial in which they quote another policy maker talking about U.S influence over Rwanda, http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/02b2c8c2-a5f4-11dd-9d26-000077b07658.html. Also, http://www.democracynow.org/2008/10/27/kambale_musavuli_on_the_forgotten_war. Keep in mind that the U.S is definately angry over a Congo deal with China that took place days before the new rebel attacks. The deal allowed China access to Congo's vast mineral resources in exchange for 8 billion dollars. The U.S usually intervenes or tries to punish any country that makes deals with its economic competitors.PlasticJesus341 (talk) 19:19, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ip 90.196.3.246 (Talk)

[edit]

Hiya MOP :) i am here to give you an input on the ip 90.196.3.246 (Talk). Well i have come across how he claims to be Muslim and cries insults to Islam when

  • 1. He has never edited a Single article on Islam except one article, Islam and Sikhism.
  • 2. He during his entire editing history has only edited articles relating to Sikhism.
  • He claims to be a secular fighting for world peace but please take a look at the following observance by him [10]. This is a clear pointer about who is the black sheep here.
  • He is crying hoarse about there being no mention of Judaic or Christian mentions in Sikhism but look what he adds here [11].
  • Now take a look how he treats edits of other editors here [12] and here [13]
  • Now see how he manipulates, distorts and misleads here [14]
  • He asks for quotes from scriptures from other editors but himself is above as such [15].
  • Now take a look how he gives two fingers to respected admins who are defenders of core wiki policies here [16] [17] and again here [18] overcoming this edit [19] He also, quite contrary to his claims is busy adding similarities between Islam and Sikhism by adding "Waheguru is the distinctive name of the Supreme Being in the Sikh dispensation, like Yahweh in Judaism and Allah in Islam."
  • Now please see how he removes a reference here [20] and adds fact tag and terms it second hand reference. And here again [21] he adds some dubious source by removing a well established historical work.
  • Take a look at his distasteful display of hatred for Sikhism [22] [23].
  • And his display of his editing abilities [24] go un-checked. And the immediate lie afterwards in edit summary [25].
  • He does not even shies away from twisting tags [26].
  • He defines a rule (Wikipedia does not endorse other wiki references) here [27] but shamelessly ignores it in another article [28].
  • Here he was crying for inclusion of this particular website as a reference for a fact here [29] but gives two hoots to the same website as a reference in another article here [30].
  • His actions speak louder than his words about his intentions and nature and his ideology. Due to time constraints i have only been able to gather only this much about him but if you spend some time on his histroy you will be surprised. And he is not a Muslim as he claims as is evident from his confessions much as he would like us to believe here [31].

Regards, —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.96.145.76 (talk) 05:19, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can you tell me who I called an idiot ? I said any idiot can be born into a faith. Please don't misquote, if I am not a Muslim what am I ? I know I'm not pretending to be Polish person LOL —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.3.246 (talk) 10:26, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I want to answer the main points by talk which is probably the same person who asked me to sign in with a user ID !!
You say I have a hatred of Sikhs ?? here
"Take a look at his distasteful display of hatred for Sikhism [32] [33]."
thats false, I do admit to having a dislike for concerted fundamentalists or terrorists which may or may not emanate from religious ideology and have a dislike for free speech.
Freedom of speech is a choice all people should have including pro-terrorists as long as its honest.
Here's a good example of fundamentalists trying to close free speech
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article404969.ece
I hope the above link doesn't also make me a hater- its simply a news article from the Times
Now you say I hate Sikhs because I refuse to accept that Muslims worship Nanak. The truth is that Muslims do NOT worship Nanak, that doesn't make Muslims hate Sikhs does it ?
So you mean this edit is secular in nature [34]. This single edit is enough to explain your ideology and the career you are pursuing on wiki. And it is pretty evident that your behaviour remains pampered by the Admins. Why would someone who claims to be in his forties and a history student who, in his own words, "I'm not really a wiki expert, but I hope I have a good knowledge base and can contribute positively" displays total lack where his edits are concerned. Well Done. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.96.171.222 (talk) 15:05, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
MOP, Please Decide.
MOP, It’s really too much. I never knew that some person/organization could attack Wikipedia articles to such an extent to further its extremist crazyness. Editors discuss points; provide references but the kind of hate/attitude this IP has shown is un-believable. Otherwise, the vandalism/Sock puppet/Blocking history of this person we have seen so far really require a full time Wikipedia job to chase this IP and protect articles from it.
  • His Biography has already been presented to you.
  • His lies and un-ethical practices have been caught.
  • He could not give satisfactory answers to any of the 11 points raised in Section – Islam and Sikhism Vs 90.196.3.37 alias 90.196.3.246 in your talk page.
  • 117.96.145.76 has already exposed his true history in section - ip 90.196.3.246 (Talk) in your talk page. 90.196.3.37 alias 90.196.3.246 could not challenge this shocking news either.
  • He could not answer all 7 points raised by Deavenger in your talk page.
  • Several editors had to oppose 90.196.3.37 alias 90.196.3.246's vandalism to save valuable articles on wikipedia. God knows how many other articles he might have destroyed with his IPs so far which we could not notice.
  • You have already warned him in two of its IPs, i.e. 90.196.3.37 and 90.196.3.246.
Kindly act so that he could not use these IPs to destroy Wikipedia articles any more.--Singh6 (talk) 08:05, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sikh Fanaticism

[edit]

Hi Mop, there's a tendency of Sikh Extremism which has been overlooked and allowed free reign on Wiki. I have spoken to one of the other Snr Admins on creating an article on Sikh Fundamentalism. I don't think its been allowed to exist on Wikipedia until now? Bud I wouldn't be cowed in by some people preventing us from doing so as there was a serious case a few years ago when Sikh extremists tried to stop a Theatre play, please see Behzti

I think this case is very similar in point - Thanks.

Interesting, It appears that you, I mean User talk:90.192.59.43 have thought to add following NPOV sentence into Behzti: (Although uncommon, rape & murder have actually occurred in Sikh places of worship) but then changed your mind and your new sentence shows your association with User Talk: 90.196.3.246 as well. Respected Sir, PLEASE think positively. Please come out of the shell you have created around yourself and please leave this hate behind and move forward. --Irek Biernat (talk) 02:08, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't changed my mind. These things have actually occurred in Sikh places of worship, I can site various references but felt this didn't have much to do with the issue of freedom of speech which was the main issue here but was suppressed by extremists as usual. As I pointed out before, journalists like Kim Bolan have had death threats for exposing these extremists, and artists involved in Behzti also had death threats.

Hi, MOP, I'm not disrupting anything but simply highlighting Sikh Fanatcism - when you expose these things you naturally get a large number of rebuttals, accusations and abuse. I'd still like to know and go ahead with the article ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.192.59.43 (talk) 11:17, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So, He did not listen, He has created article Sikh extremism immediately after creating his wiki editor account with name User Talk: Satanoid . Even the very name of this article, i.e. Sikh extremism is an abusive word against an entire religion. --Singh6 (talk) 09:37, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Even Admin User talk:DJ Clayworth has called this article an Insult to Wikipedia.--Singh6 (talk) 09:12, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually admin DJ Clayworth actually contributed to the article, so trying to bully admin- it will get you nowhere!

Hi there, regarding this dispute, hopefully the issues can be sorted out on the article's talk page. Your input would be much appreciated --Flewis(talk) 13:02, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

This article might need cleanup due to duplicate entries. PLEASE HELP! Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 07:24, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The IP user has 8 reverts and counting. My comments and reverting of his vandalism on the talk page does not affect that he has and continues to remorselessly violate the 3RR rule. Would I be allowed to revert the same edit 8 times in a matter of hours? This is against the spirit of Wikipedia. He is going against the established consensus of other editors and pushing his version through with brute force. AzureFury (talk | contribs) 07:41, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Scratch that, I see you've restored the material. AzureFury (talk | contribs) 07:44, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll report the vandal earlier next time rather than edit war with him. I don't think trying to handle him myself makes me "wrong." AzureFury (talk | contribs) 07:49, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am not a vandal. I am removing information that should not be there. 96.232.251.177 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 07:56, 7 November 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Not the result that I was hoping for, but thanks for taking the time to have a look at the 3RR report that I filed, it was frustrating to see all the other reports dealt with, but mine sitting in limbo forever (well at least a couple of days) cheers Sennen goroshi (talk) 13:57, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Template:Airliner accident

[edit]

All the articles without that parameter (which is virtuously all of them) displayed the images in the infoboxes at full size. For example, on TWA Flight 800 the image (Image:TWA800reconstruction.jpg) was displayed at 747 × 528 pixels. If you still think the infobox needs an image size parameters, I suggest that you keep the default size and make the image size parameter optional. That way infoboxes without the parameter will not have huge images. – Zntrip 20:13, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

May I ask on what grounds you think this user is a sockpuppet. I've been here a few months and watched User:Secretaria. He is a experienced editor who knows the rules from what I've seen. User:Secreatarian on the other hand is very arrogant, in my opinion, who doesn't care. I don't see anything linking them besides their name which would be a little dumb for User:Secretaria to want to make a sock and have nearly the same name.--WillC 01:51, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
