List of Puerto Ricans
Hello i would like to let you know I have listed the two sources regarding the two names that I added. They were in regards to two NBA players. JMichael22 (talk) 05:09, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
Thank you JMichael22 (talk) 05:17, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
Puerto Rico Olympic Medallists
Hi, I don't understand the change from notes (which were only for the medallist representing USA that had Puerto Rican heritage) to these asterisks (for everybody). The notes looked better and were easier to identify (no need to count asterisks to know which note applies). Thanks for your consideration.--Coquidragon (talk) 00:36, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
Looked at Raúl G. Villaronga. What do you think about changing the infobox to embed the military service? .... as his notability is from being mayor, not for his military service. I'd like to embed the military person infobox into the person infobox. — ERcheck (talk) 00:35, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
- See the examples in my sandbox. (Ignore the references).
- I have the new example on top. The military person one at the bottom. Note that the military person box is wider and has a blue band at the top. Let me know if you are ok with the updates before I make the change. — ERcheck (talk) 05:03, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
- Found some inconsistencies between the articled dates (see Mayor & City Council) and what is in what appears to be his Linkedin page: https://www.linkedin.com/in/raul-villaronga-683a8b39
- I think it needs some more detective work

A couple of questions on Trinidad Swilling
Hi Tony. I have a couple of questions about the Early years section. The second paragraph says:
- Arizona belonged to Mexico until the end of the Mexican-American War in 1848. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and the 1853 Gadsden Purchase clearly defined the U.S-Mexican boundaries and the Mexicans living within the boundaries of the new United States territory became American citizens.
How does this relate to Trinidad Swilling? She was born in 1849 - but from the article it does not appear that her birthplace was in the are of the Gadsden Purchase. Was it? If not, how does this relate to Trinidad Swilling's early years? Does it belong in another section? or in a different article? — ERcheck (talk) 17:00, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
- Per your explanation on my talk page, I recommend that you edit that section to make the point as clearly as you did on my talk page. — ERcheck (talk) 23:01, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
Carlos Betances Ramírez - see refs
Hi Tony. See Carlos Betances Ramírez. I made a change in formatting the references. I put them all in the reflist using the "refs=" formatting. For me, it seems to be easier to easily see all the references when editing and not have all of the details of the references crowding the article text.
What do you think?
— ERcheck (talk) 03:27, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- I think it looks great! Tony the Marine (talk) 04:39, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- Did some more research on the references and added more details. Was able to find "MK" details - Mervin Key, who edited some of the work originally authored by Bart Soto. — ERcheck (talk) 13:21, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
Elsa Miranda article
Tony - what a nicely, fully formed article on Elsa Miranda. — ERcheck (talk) 13:47, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- Looking at references in Discography section, it appears that the The Billboard review here[1] — is for two sides of a record, and it is the "I'll Never Love Again" side that Ms. Miranda is featured on, not the "Tia Juana". Do you agree? If so, then the bullet point should be revised. — ERcheck (talk) 14:06, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

Raúl G. Villaronga revisited
Hi Tony. Was looking at references in Raúl G. Villaronga — with the thought of adding more details. I found that the second reference "Bat" seems to be a dead link and I don't find it in archive.org. Can you provide more details on the reference? (title, date, updated/weblink, etc.??)

Ivonne Coll - for you to add
Tony. Take a look at the reference section in Ivonne Coll. See ref at the bottom - named "PRDayParade2015". This is an honor that I think you should add to the article. (I'm going to be away from my computer for a bit, so I'm leaving it in your court.)[1] — ERcheck (talk) 01:34, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

- Your explanation of your well intended edit is appreciated. The problem is that the edit was placed in the wrong section with the wrong format. I went ahead and placed the proper wikilink of the "O'Neills Dynasty" in the "See also" section of the article. Tony the Marine (talk) 04:24, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

Tony, See Olga E. Custodio — I added some items to the "Further Reading" section. Don't know if anything there might be useful to further expand the article. I'm leaving it in your hands. — ERcheck (talk) 03:48, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
John (Jack) Swilling Rock House
Hi ... You recently added the John (Jack) Swilling Rock House to National Register of Historic Places listings in Yavapai County, Arizona, but I don't find it listed in the NRHP database. I undid your edit but am happy to restore it if you can give me a source that indicates it's currently listed. If this is your source, it's unreliable because it doesn't distinguish between sites that are currently listed from those that have been removed or were approved by the NPS but never officially listed for any number of reasons (e.g., owner objection is a pretty common one). That site is just a dump of everything in the NPS aw database without regard to the status of the nomination. If you find evidence that this site was once listed but has been removed, it may be included in the "Former listings" table at the bottom of the page. Litchfield Cemetery
Hi, i noticed new disambiguation page Litchfield Cemetery and I edited it towards bringing it into compliance with disambiguation page rules. However, it only has one entry having a wikipedia article, so it is disputable whether the disambigation page is necessary. Do you intend to create articles soon about any of the other items? There is a rule that there needs to be one (and only one) bluelink for each item. For items where the main link is red, by MOS:DABRL there should be a supporting bluelink showing the redlink in context elsewhere, i.e. establishing/asserting that there should be coverage of the item eventually. --Doncram (talk) 22:36, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
- There is always the possibility that someone else may want to write an article about one of the other Litchfield Cemeteries, since there are quite a few, however if you believe that redirect would be better suited in this case, then I no objection and trust your judgement. Tony the Marine (talk) 22:49, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
Hassayampa Bridge
Hi, in general I would be very glad to have your help in developing coverage about NRHP-listed and other bona fide historic sites in Arizona. Yesterday I created Hassayampa River Bridge, addressing what was a redlink in National Register of Historic Places listings in Maricopa County, Arizona, and used a photo you had supplied which was in the list-article. Based on comparison to photos in Historic American Engineering Record, and a statement that the bridge was slated for demolition in 1983, I was concluding that the photo was not of the 1929 bridge but rather of a 1983 replacement. Today I find that there was already a Hassayampa Bridge article created in 2016, and I will merge the newer article's material to there, per my usual practice for when there are duplicate articles, which happens (like when there is a new article about historic sites in Jerome, and there is a longer-existing Jerome Historic District article).
About the Hassayampa Bridge, it was your December 2017 edit which added that "The historic Hassayampa Bridge bridge was modified and repaired in 1993." Do you have any source for that? It seems more likely to me that the 1929 bridge was demolished entirely and replaced, yet the bridge remained NRHP-listed because no one noticed it should have been delisted, which happens sometimes (for 7 other examples in Arizona, see wp:NRIS info issues AZ). But I don't know for sure that some portion of the 1929 bridge was retained somehow, though the supporting pillars and the sides seem entirely different, at least. I just tend to believe there is no value provided by retaining a small amount of old material for the sake of history (and there apparently are no historic markers/interpretive signs pointing out what historical was saved, or you would have photographed them I surmise), and it is cheaper to tear something down entirely and built anew, if you have to go that far already.
Also your edit added three photos with two asserting that they were of the "modified historic" bridge, and one interesting one asserting that a pile of rubble was "Remains of some of the original sections which were removed from the Hassayampa Bridge". I wonder if you had a conversation with someone who knew, or what is your source for the latter. Can you share, please? --Doncram (talk) 14:10, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
- I went to the site where the bridge is located in 2015 and took the photos. Now, I agree with you that it would have been much cheaper to demolish the old bridge and rebuilt a new one, which may have been the case. I can't find now a specific source as to what was the exact fate of the bridge, with the exception that this source states that it was replaced in 1993. [2]. The thing is that I do not remember any media mention of the bridge being demolished in 1993. The rubble that is pictured is no longer there either. However, when the base of the bridge in the photos (1929 and 2015) are compared there are no similarities. Now, if a new bridge replaced the old bridge then I believe that The NRHP should be notified and have it delisted. My age and health issues are getting the better part of me, but I would be honored to help you in any way that I can with NRHP-listed and other bona fide historic sites in Arizona. Hi the COI template is not for you but someone who has been contributing to the above article who seems to work for the Ramón Rivero foundation and as such should not be editing this article as they have a clear conflict of interest. Dom from Paris (talk) 17:37, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
- Your reasoning is well understood. Plus I believe that all additions without the citation of a reliable verifiable source should be removed. Keep up the good work. Tony the Marine (talk) 19:35, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Tony, you may want to weigh in on the talk page as Mr Orbi seems to have misunderstood what he can and cannot decide about this article and I think he holds you in respect and will listen to your point of view. cheers Dom from Paris (talk) 14:38, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
===Tony, I have no idea if this will reach you but I hope it does. I'm glad the tag is off the RR page. However, edits were made to the page that are incorrect. Ramon Rivero did not debut in the Tremendo Hotel on TV. El Tremendo Hotel was a radio show only. Ramon Rivero made his debut on TV in Puerto Rico when he produced, wrote and starred in La Taberna India, the first comedy/variety show in Puerto Rican TV history. Miriam Colón made her "professional acting debut" in Los Peloteros.
Many thanks, and I understand you're living in PR. Is it allowed in WKP to tell you to contact me? :) All the best... J — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcquicker (talk • contribs) 22:19, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
Hola Tony... re. Beatriz del Cueto
Hola Tony, Hope you are doing well. I'm sorry. Since Beatriz del Cueto already has documented/referenced entries in both English and Spanish attesting to her notability, I thought that the link would suffice. Although born in Cuba, she has been in Puerto Rico for over 50 years and all her notable projects have been in the island. un abrazo cordial Nonza (talk) 15:19, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- Gracias for your message. Beatriz reminds of Tony Coratto, who was more Puerto Rican then many who were born there. Anyhow, add her name with a source and that is it. Take care. Tony the Marine (talk) 22:40, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

Very well written and complete, as well as well researched.
On another note, Captaincy General of Puerto Rico briefly mentions the colonial Spanish politico/military "rank" of Teniente a Guerra, yet the more complete article Military history of Puerto Rico does not even mention it. I found THIS, but not being a military guru, can't even start to translate it. Maybe you can sense of it. Take care, Mercy11 (talk) 06:37, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

Hope you are still photographing so I can look forward to more. And I hope there are not photos here that haven't been uploaded there. Thank you so much. Litchfield Cemetery
Hi Marine 69-71, I saw that you created Litchfield Cemetery as a redirect and then changed it to a disambiguation page. However, all of the links but one are red with no associated blue link, and I can't find any mention (in Wikipedia) of the other cemeteries. Wouldn't it be better to return the page to a redirect? Where did you get the information about Ursula Acosta's death? I'm not doubting it's true, but a reliable source (newspaper article or website, no social networks or blogs) is needed to edit her page. Thanks. --Folengo (talk) 14:34, 18 September 2018 (UTC)

Letter of appreciation
Hello Tony. On your User page, you link to the Unofficial Letter of Appreciation from Robert Lemiszki that you received. However, over on Wikisource, the page is in danger of deletion, since it is missing a source. Could you perhaps arrange for an upload of a scanned copy of the letter, e.g. as you did for File:Memorial Day (2008) Speech1.jpg? Hope this doesn't bother you, but I figured you were the most obvious person to ask. Thanks! --Azertus (talk) 22:25, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
Your sandbox page
Please read WP:USERNOCAT: user sandbox pages are not allowed to be filed in articlespace categories. This is not up to your personal discretion; it is strictly verboten, and there are never any valid exceptions for any reason. Your freedom to do what you want on your userpage comes with limits, such as that you're not allowed to let the page clutter up mainspace by adding it to article categories, and you're not allowed to ban other users on cleanup duty from editing the page to remove the categories. Bearcat (talk) 17:12, 24 September 2018 (UTC)
- I have written and worked on 739 articles, which included the corresponding categories, in my workshop pages before posting them in the mainspace. I write in my "workshop" because there I can work without any interference. This is the first time in my 14 years in Wikipedia that someone has complained about it and even removed them, a thing which I would have done myself. No big deal, let's let it go at that. Tony the Marine (talk) 18:38, 24 September 2018 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker)@Bearcat: I think there's a simple compromise: commenting out the categories in question (this is one of the options mentioned in USERNOCAT). Tony, I was bold and went in to make the edit, but I understand it's your userspace and do not intend to edit it again. It's technically correct that mainspace categories, are, well, for the mainspace, so I think commenting them out instead of removing them will solve the problem of accidental page categorization while preserving useful information. The categories can be unhidden once they are moved to the mainspace along with the content. Airplaneman ✈ 18:52, 24 September 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response. As I stated before, it's no big deal and not even worth making a big fuzz over. I like dealing in a civil way with good Wikipedians like you. I only wish there were more like you out there. Tony the Marine (talk) 19:41, 24 September 2018 (UTC)
- Better than commenting them out might be to use a leading colon. This at least links to the category, without placing the page into that category, against USERNOCAT.

Hi Tony, its been a while since we last spoke. I haven't been very active the last few years but I check in regularly on my contributions to see if they are ok. Sorry to bother you but since I haven't been active in the wiki community I don't know who ask for guidance. As you know the article I have most contributed to is Phi Sigma Alpha, in the last few years the part I have added the most content to is the Notable Members List. Using other Fraternity Notable Members List for guidance not all inclusions need have a Wikipedia article, as long as they are notable. Most of the names have been there for years, but in the last few days an editor has been erasing and re-erasing all persons on the list that don't have an article (and according to him then not notable because of lack of said article) would you mind taking a look? regards, El Johnson (talk) 20:27, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hey, long time no see. Glad to hear from you. You are absolutely right. Just because a person does not have an article does not mean that that individual is not notable. There are hundreds of people out there who are notable and do not have an article in Wikipedia. If I were you I would add sources, which indicate the person's notability, to some of the names which do not have one. Tony the Marine (talk) 01:47, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
