Speedy deletion of Moudodi

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Moudodi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TNX-Man 19:04, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Khwaja Abu Yusuf

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Khwaja Abu Yusuf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

New articles

[edit]

Hello and welcome. I have noticed many of the new articles that you have created but I am uncertain as to the notability of these subjects. It does not appear that the subjects meet the notability requirements set forth at WP:N. Without verifiable support for claims of notability, the articles may become candidates for deletion. Additionally, I see that you have been adding Muslim honorifics (R, A) to the articles. This practice is against Wikipedia policy laid out at MOS:ISLAM. Perhaps I could help to improve the articles if I understood why they are notable and what significance they have. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 16:47, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add Islamic honorifics like (R,A) to articles as you have done at Khwaja Qutubuddin. This is against Wikipedia policy and your edits will be reverted. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 17:43, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding Islamic honorifics to articles as you have done at Khwaja Qutubuddin. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked. If you don't understand these warnings, please ask. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 19:15, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To administrators of Wikipedia

[edit]

A few of my articles have been deleted,as a result the whole chain of my articles is disturbed. Please inform me on my user talk page prior to deletion about, any objections. All the articled are referenced fron authentic and relible sources and books , the names of which have been mentioned in the articles.Referece books are in urdu, english and persion. Please remove the objection from the article.

These articles are for the purpose of better understanding of the spread of Islam over the ages.If any one of them is deleted , it becomes very difficult for the reader to understand the rest. The people who have been described in these articles, are the corner stones of Islamic progression from one area to another But most of the literature about them is limited to the sub-continent,and is written by local authors. It is very difficult to find international books, particularly about the lesser known individuals(which in my opinion is no excuse to stop further research into a better understanding of their role in spread of Islam) Therefore, the books that have been used as references for these articles are mainly local books but complete information is provided about them in said articles.

It is difficult for a western author to understand asian culture, neither are there books availible in English about every aspect of it.Here a new language is spoken every 100 kilometers and it is not possible to find english translation of books in all these languages.Opinion about articles by asian authors should not be only taken from american or european authors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maqsoodshah01 (talkcontribs) 14:19, 9 February 2009

Hello. I am not an administrator, but since you left a similar message for me on my talk page (under the same heading), I will reply here. From my perspective, there are factors to consider when reviewing the notability of the subjects that you have written about. First is verifiability. It is not a requirement that the sources that you provide be in English, but it is recommended. It is my understanding though, that these saints are covered in the book Sufi Martyrs of Love: The Chishti Order in South Asia and Beyond Palgrave which is in English. I should have that book in my possession within a week so I will try to get some references out of it. Even with that reference and the ones you provide, I'm not sure if it meets WP:N. Second is relevance within the English Wikipedia. This is hard to pinpoint. IMO, and IMO only, if something doesn't have extensive coverage in English sources, it isn't relevant to the English Wikipedia - this is not policy, just makes sense to me. Judging by the current discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Khwaja Najamuddin Ahmed, it appears that the article is unlikely to be deleted. You should make a comment there too. I want to also point out that a deletion discussion is good because it draws attention to the topic and ultimately helps to improve articles that are considered notable. Authors tend to get a lot of help as a result of a deletion discussion. I think the best thing for you to do to ensure that your work doesn't get deleted is to ask for help in improving the articles at Wikipedia:WikiProject Islam. Something as simple as cleaning up the articles to comply with WP:MOS can do a lot to help. Another thing to consider is that perhaps you could write one article that tells the whole story. If these individuals are deemed to be non-notable individually, perhaps their story could be told as a whole in one article. Let me know if I can help with making your way around. Your willingness to contribute is appreciated and I'd hate to see you get discouraged. If you wish to reply to me, please do so here, so the conversation can stay together. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 15:18, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I undid your addition of color coding to Khwaja Najamuddin Ahmed because of concerns outlined in WP:COLOR. Also, it seems that you have forgotten that you cannot use Islamic honorifics like PBUH in articles. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 17:44, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral point of view

[edit]

Thank you for your recent article Khwaja Ibrahim Yukpasi. I have removed some information from the article. Wikipedia is a neutral encyclopedia, which means that all articles must be neutral. When you write that Khwaja Ibrahim Yukpasi guided "the seekers of truth on the path in accordance with traditions of their ancestors", you are basically saying that his views of islam are that truth. That is not for Wikipedia to decide. 94.212.31.237 (talk) 22:40, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Elders of Kirani Quetta..jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Elders of Kirani Quetta..jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:34, 26 November 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 19:34, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Abu Ahmed has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No real claim to notability, and certainly no sources to substantiate anything

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. GiantSnowman 22:10, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ibrahim Yukpasi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. MezzoMezzo (talk) 12:53, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:3d bird-1-.gif, which you've attributed to http://www.gifs.net/gif/. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. File permission problem with File:Islam .gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Islam .gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 22:00, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
