Marathi "moo"

Hello

if I'm not mistaken, you speak the Marathi language. Could you please check the Marathi translation of the noun "moo". It says "( हम्मा ??, hammaa ??)" since me and a friend of mine didn't know. Could you confirm/correct? Thank you Mallerd (talk) 20:58, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Tag & Assess 2008, an assessment drive initiated by the assessment department began on June 7, 2008 and will be running until July 2008. Many Wikipedians have started contributing to this mammoth task. This housekeeping activity will help manage articles in better way. You can also get involved!
  • Bot Assisted Assessment was successfully done using Bot0612 in May 2008. 1744 articles (18.5%) of all India unassessed articles were marked if they had been assessed by some other project.
  • What's Featured and Good?
  • IPL was hot on Wikipedia too!!! During the tournament, the article was among the most frequently edited articles. It is currently the only Indian article in top 100, occupying 58th spot.
  • Do you know of an article that is currently underrated? If so, please nominate the article at the Assessment Department's request for assessment. This will allow our project to get a better idea of the quality of our articles.

Devanagari

I am attempting to manipulate Devanagari text using Unicode strings in Tcl/Tk and HTML. I am seeing differing results on MacOS-X (10.4.*) versus WinXP. Can you tell me which Devanagari font is recommended? (I think that I am using Sanskrit98 or s2000) I see uninterpreted Unicode characters 0904, 0971, 0972,097b-097f in the Devanagari Unicode table on both my platforms.

There seems to be some lack of predictability in the way in which diacritical characters become positionally transposed with the characters they act upon when drawn in Tcl/Tk (ActiveState ActiveTcl 8.4.*) versus HTML. (Mozilla Firefox 3.0.6) Also, Browser -> View Selection Source does not help one deduce the coded values of the Biconsonantal conjuncts. So, I am currently composing Sanskrit the way one would type it instead of they way one would hand write it.

The most common font for unicode Devanagri is Mangal. If you want to type it using your keyboard (like type 'namaskar' and get नमस्कार as the output, I suggest using Google Indic Transliteration. ManishEarthTalk • Stalk 15:33, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

De-orphaning tool

Hey, just wanted to let you know the de-orphaning tool works great, and had a couple of suggestions:

  1. You could change the tab name from "de-orphan-complete" to "de-orphan" so it doesn't take up so much real estate on the tab list.
  2. Could you make the search only look for namespace = 0 articles? That's all we really care about when we're de-orphaning.

It does look for article namespaces only. It would take too long to filter out the namespaces, so it closes any window with a non article namespace. And I will change the tab. just purge your cache to see the changes. ManishEarthTalk • Stalk 20:11, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
