OSU College of Dentistry Seal & Logo
Dear Mabdul,
The OSU College of Dentistry Seal.png upload request was denied because you said it was a duplicate. Although I did accidentally send a duplicate of the OSU College of Dentistry Logo.jpg, please note that the OSU College of Dentistry Seal.png is a completely different image that will be used for the same purposes on the same article. Thank you.

Gerber format revert
Dear Mabdul,
I am puzzled that you reverted my adding the Gerber format to the Image File formats article. It is a genuine vector format, and the de-facto standard in the electronics manufacturing industry. It was properly referenced. Why did you revert this?
I am even more puzzled that you reverted adding the See also to "Comparison of image file formats". This is very related. (Actually I think both articles would best be merged, and I intended to propose this when I have more time.

- Well referenced? You gave only the link to http://www.ucamco.com . That is not well referenced. If I go to this URL I don't get the information that this is a image format. On the other side is this link also in the description of the "under-section" and thus not being ok with WP:MOS, WP:EL (and maybe per WP:LISTS - not so familiar with). The article about the "gerber format" doesn't really discuss what this format is or what the format is technically build up. So I can't understand - by reading only the Wikipedia article - that this file format is/should be a image / vector format... mabdul 20:44, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- Dear Mabdul
- Thanks for the quick response.
- With the reference I meant: "RS-274X Extended Gerber Format[1]" The link to Ucamco is not about to format, but to provide info about the developer of the format.
- I am not thoroughly familiar with these WP guidelines you mention related to "under-section". Can you explain what the problem is? I can then adapt my edit accordingly.
- The article about "Gerber format". Indeed, re-reading it I agree with your criticism it is not obvious from the article that it is a vector format. If I have some time, I may try to improve the article. However, there is a reference to the spec, and it is a vector format. Widely used. Therefore, IMHO, it deserves an entry in the article on image file formats.

- OK. I looked at the article. Looks better now. I fixed some stylish... Can you provide more references? Maybe some other articles/news/books of other sites (3rd party...) otherwise this page wouldn't survive a afd (articles for deletion) nomination... I will help you (if you want) to get this article to a better... mabdul 08:09, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the style improvements. References. I have a 1996 book from Gerber, but I doubt it is still available, and it adds nothing to the latest format pdf. It does contain a list of publications on the Gerber format. I will maybe use it to review the history section. (Later, in the coming month I will have little time.) Websites. There are plentey of websites with introductions to Gerber. However, the www.artwork.com website contains a very good introduction and tutorial; all others I know of are much more limited and do not contribute anything that is not done equally good or better on artwork. I do not think we help anybody by adding links to the other sites than artwork. wkr. Karloman — Preceding unsigned comment added by Karloman2 (talk • contribs) 08:35, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi Mabdul. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for Anikkattilammakshethram, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers and review the criteria for speedy deletion. Particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion, proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. Want to help?
Hi. I just created an article and I was wondering if you wanted to help with it. I used the Page History Statistics tool to find you based on your past edits.
Hello, Mabdul. How do you do?
I apologize because I know I had to contact you much earlier but it somehow went off my mind. So, here it is: You added a {{primarysources}} tag to ImDisk article, right? Well, WP:TAGBOMB says when there is a tag that perform the function of two or three, use that tag instead of the other two or three. In this case, the article already had a {{Notability}} tag which does the job of {{primarysources}}
. So, I deleted {{primarysources}}
.
Again, I apologize for the delay in notifying you. Fleet Command (talk) 04:47, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, ok. Didn't know that. Thanks. mabdul 08:16, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

I marked it as ibid here because "[p169]", "[p170-2]", and "[p287]" are not complete references. Frietjes (talk) 15:19, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Welcome to Files for upload
Hi there. I'm there ti welcome you to WP:FFU, it's great to have you aboard.A few quick things.
- Files for upload is part of the Articles for Creation group, and tracks uploads performed through FFU by using the {{WPAFC}} banner. If you upload a file than please add {{subst:WPAFCF}} to the talk page of the file.
- Secondly, it's worth pointing out that we are a first contact point for many new users. I see that you use the templates for explaining fair use and licensing in submissions. That's a good thing. Keep up the good work, and don't be afraid to personalize the messages if necessary.
- Thirdly, there is a template to notify user about their request. ({{ffu talk}}) If you have questions about an upload you can use
{{subst:ffu talk|?}}
. - Finally, if you ever need anything or have any questions, feel free to ask me. I can be reached on my talk page or e-mail (on my userpage). Anything I can do to help, I will.
Thanks again, Armbrust Talk to me Contribs 11:20, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

FFU
Hi Mabdul, thanks for finishing off my FFU uploads while I was eating my dinner! I crossed off your response at MTV Undressed TV Series.jpg because if fair use applies no copyright needs to be proved. But we do need the fair use rationale. We can ask for it to be filled in, but I am not so happy with our templated message, as the typical new person will have no idea about fair use. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:06, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- mmh, then maybe fill it in by yourself? You were right striking my comment. I didn't recognized it correctly... mabdul 19:21, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- How the templates happened was that we collected several responses that people had posted and made them into templates. It made it much quicker to respond, but they may not have been the best ones for our requestors. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:50, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- Most of the time they even respond at all! That's the problem. We can tweak the template saying that we are willing to help them in filling out the template. mabdul 21:57, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- You are right there is not much feedback after we ask for more information. On the speedy delete tags there is not a button to contest the delete. This has got a lot of response, so perhaps we can place a button to press on the ffu hold templates, simpler than clicking edit and typing something meaningful in the template. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Vchslogo.png
A tag has been placed on File:Vchslogo.png, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:27, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Nutrition guides
Hello, this is the guy developing the List of nutrition guides page. I like Germany, and I like the 5 A Day program, but the 5 A Day program is more of an individual campaign as part of a larger food guide, rather than a complete food guide itself. I found that the German government actually uses a food pyramid developed by state-funded Aid Infodienst, which I added to the list. I also included a food circle by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ernährung in the non-governmental guides, and added Five A Day to the See Also section.
But regarding images, another editor is interpreting WP:NFLISTS as an outright ban on non-free images in lists, rather than a guide on their use, so I've created a discussion on the talk page. We may compromise on only showing stylistically unique food guides, rather than a dozen pyramids, for example.
As for getting an account, I had one, but I was getting too "into" Wikipedia, developing a positive reputation, gaining barnstars, getting social with other users, gaining permissions, etc. I wanted to be able to start fresh instead of having years of history. So now I'm anonymous.
PS: Would you be willing create nutrition guide, nutrition guides, dietary guide, dietary guides, food guide and food guides and redirect them to the list? 76.105.176.44 (talk) 05:23, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Buckswood International School - Tbilisi
Dear Mabdul,
You have recently reviewed and denied the submission of the article on Buckswood International School - Tbilisi due to the reason that submission is unsourced or contains only unreliable sources. As I am new to Wikipedia community can you please assist me in improving the article so that it meets Wikipedia criteria. Information provided in the article is genuine. It is hard to provide any other evidences and/or references as this School is a Georgian School and therefore all the information and data about the school is in Georgian language. We have provided two links: one is our school link another is the link of our partner school - Buckswood School that has an active article on Wikipedia: http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Buckswood_School
We would also like to have the similar article explaining the life of Buckswood School in Tbilisi. What is that we can do? Can you please assist. Thank you for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Levanuna (talk • contribs) 04:20, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
- The references don't have to be in English, but since the article already exists (I didn't recognized, would be another reason to decline) you can safely merge your content from your submission to the actual article. The problem is with your submission AND the actual article, that every fact has to be verifiable by the reader and without references this is not possible. For your second article I don't see any chance since this doesn't belong into an encyclopedia. Maybe the official page is useful for such a purpose. mabdul 13:22, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Phoenix Legend.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Phoenix Legend.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sir Armbrust Talk to me Contribs 09:26, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Question regarding references
Dear Mabdul,
Please can you be more specific regarding which area needs better references? I have removed the information about the Daily Telegraph award as you rightly pointed out that the article was written by FINE+RARE. However, I have since added a new independent reference from Decanter to the comment about the company being up for sale. What else am I missing? This is my first article on Wikipedia so I need a little more help.
Best wishes, Alex
AlexHowardWine (talk) 10:58, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
- Sry for the late response. You were talking about this draft: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/FINE+RARE. I tagged the article with some [citation needed] for statements/claims/facts I want to have some references. At the moment, I don't see why this company is notable and it is a bit written like an advertisement. (e.g. Offices normally don't interest a reader of an encyclopedia) Maybe that helps. If you need more information, ask me again ;) mabdul 14:46, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

- Sry, but I really don't understand. If you do not see the actual version, you have to clear your cache by pressing [F5] or use the secure server. mabdul 14:37, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/ESys.net
Those confence papers looks like reasonable sources. Could you expand on the decission?©Geni 14:33, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
- Okay. Let us start. I reviewed this revision since all changes after that were (of course) later happened. (see the [[WP:HISTORY|history for more explanations).
- the later added references #1 is used, but this is not in the citation. if it is, please add a page and/or a direct quote to the reference, since I don't find Esys.net in the full document (and other searchterms!).
- I just added that reference to refer to the original SystemC (which doesn't contain any specs about ESys.net) and to backup the statement that it's widely used, as the document does prove it to be an ANSI standard. I do see your case of the .net port not being part of it and have removed that reference and the "well-established" statement. Gnobb (talk) 08:19, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
- The two references you had already in the revision I was reviewing, are both primary sources (although published in magazines, written by directly involved people) and thus this project is not showing its notability for me as reviewer.
- Is the ".NET framework - a solution for the next generation tools for system-level modeling and simulation"-article somewhere online? Since I'm a student, I have widely access over my university to such articles. (I got also a copy of the ACM one).
- I got my copy from [2], but a Google Scholar search comes up with different places as well, some of which are direct links to the PDF and should be available publicly (e.g. [3] ) Gnobb (talk) 08:19, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, I see your case. I assumed that the usual reviewing process of scientific conferences and/or journals makes primary sources qualify as reliable ones. Does that book that I added as "further reading" add to the notability? Albeit I do see that the author of that book was involved in the project as well. Would scientific papers that reference this project that are just places in "further reading" as well add to the notability? Gnobb (talk) 08:19, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
- I have found some papers that reference the ESys.net framework (or rather the publications about it) (Chopard, B. et al (2006): "A Conservative Approach to SystemC Parallelization". Monteiro, M. et al (2008): "GUI GENERATION BASED ON LANGUAGE EXTENSIONS - A model to generate GUI, based on Source Code with Custom Attributes"). Still, while they mention it and emphasize some attribute they consider especially noteworthy, I do not think that they qualify for anything but backing up ESys.net's notability (i.e. I'm having difficulties coming up with something that justifies quoting these sources that is related to the project itself and not covered by the primary sources). How would you advise to proceed? Gnobb (talk) 08:59, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
