Hello, I'm Philipnelson99. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Tongariro Alpine Crossing because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Hi Philip, how comes? Its relevant to the content, there is no external source for the Emerald Lakes. LuisDomenech (talk) 01:34, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, although you have not yet had a reply from Philipnelson99, my perspective is that the main issue with your edit is that Wikipedia policy is not to directly include external links in the body of an article. See WP:NOELBODY. Rather, citations of sources in the body of the text need to be in the standard citation templates such as cite web, cite book, cite news etc. See WP:CITE. There is a further issue about sources. The source you quoted appears to be some kind of blog. Wikipedia prefers "independent and reliable" sources. See WP:SOURCES. Usually, a blog does not make the grade, because it is often the view of a single person and is not peer-reviewed. I note that the blog article title has a mistake and the spelling of Emerald is incorrect. This is not a good sign. Having said that, if you can find good sources that provide significant and useful coverage of the Emerald lakes, please go ahead an improve the content about this aspect of the article. Just be sure to cite the source using the citation templates. In many cases, the automatic citation builder will work reasonably well, so it is not too difficult. I hope that helps. Get back to me if you want. Marshelec (talk) 08:01, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
