[edit]Not all deposit numbers within a given range are linked to deposits and some deposits don't contain material yet (and a tiny minority may never do). Won't it be better to add external links to deposits that do contain stuff at the moment? A link to an empty ELAR page is not of much use to readers and might get removed by overzealous editors. Cheers. Uanfala (talk) 21:54, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks Uanfala (talk), good point. I know the ELAR catalog has actually been static for the last year, but they've been adding materials behind the scenes and are waiting to launch a new front end - so some that appear to be empty at the moment actually have content. I'll talk to the ELAR people about whether there's a way to weed out 'zombie' archives for the editathons. Loztron (talk) 07:52, 4 December 2015 (UTC)
Loztron, you are invited to the Teahouse
[edit]Hi Loztron! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
Hello, Loztron. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Mary Laughren, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 08:31, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

- I have similar concerns about Janet Fletcher. I appreciate you trying to create these linguist article (I am a big fan of linguistics myself), but you really need to rewrite things in your own words. Copying and pasting what you find on the web and changing a few words doesn't work, nor does a close paraphrase. You need to rewrite things in your own words and style. (Your other contributions look good.) Let me know if you have nay questions. Also, let me apologize about all the deletion notifications you have received, most of which weren't warranted as the people in question are notable. --ThaddeusB (talk) 05:22, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
Hi! I would like to join Lingwiki, how to do it? --Lingveno (talk) 18:19, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- Dear Lingveno. We're thrilled you'd like to join! If you're in London you can email me at lg21@soas.ac.uk and I'll email you about the next event. If you can't make it to any of the physical events feel free to work on one of the projects [[1]] we've suggested - leave a note on the project talk page if you want some Wikipedia digital highfives for your work! Speedy deletion nomination of File:SotaroKitaImage.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:SotaroKitaImage.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
