[edit]Hello, I'm Jochem van Hees. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Programmer have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 11:20, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
Hello Jocham van Hees, can you tell me how you think that I did promotional. I've respect your concern, but I also want to increase my knowledge regarding this matter, your reply would be appreciated. 182.189.4.104 (talk) 12:02, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
- I was guessing a bit, but the edit just seems really strange if it isn't an advertisement. It is completely unrelated to the rest of the section, and the bulk of the sentence was there just to link to an Amazon advertisement. ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 12:17, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, I've just also noticed that there was a amazon advertisement in the linked article, and it's fine if you think that it was unrelated to the topic, Peace out. Lotsofedits (talk) 12:20, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Computer animation. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 16:42, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did at Information security, you may be blocked from editing. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings.
