Hi, I've been following your work on the article and I'm very impressed with the clarity that you are bringing to a complex subject. I hope you don't mind my disturbing this very peaceful page. Best wishes. Graham. GrahamColmTalk
- Thanks for the compliment! It's great to know my work is appreciated! Livitup (talk) 13:35, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- I was wondering if you'd finished the copyedit work on the article - I'm doing my best to reduce the backlog of WP:LOCE/R and trying to track down articles still on the list which have already been done so I can close them. If you haven't finished, that's no problem. The changes you've made look like great work. Adacore (talk) 05:27, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Sigh. This is turning out to be a lot of work. I am not done, but I had been on a bit of hiatus from it. I'm going to upload a bunch of stuff today and hopefully have it finished soon. I'm *usually* pretty good at updating the LOCE page when I do finish something. :) Livitup (talk) 18:43, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Copy editing
Hello, I saw your name on the volunteers list, and I would like to ask you if you could CE McGill University. It is a GA that has gone through two peer reviews. However, it is quite long, and two issues I would like for you to look out for is:
And don't be afraid to make harsh comments. Thank you, and take your time, --Sunsetsunrise (talk) 16:02, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- I will be happy to. I'm finishing a rather involved CE on another large, "important" article. I'll try to finish that this week, then I'll start in on McGill. It will be a neat assignment, because my mom actually graduated from McGill, though she never told me much about it. :) Livitup (talk) 17:34, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Rollback
I have given you the rollback feature. Please ensure that it is used solely for vandalism. Even if the content belongs to WP:NOT, you still need to use the UNDO button and explain the changes. OhanaUnitedTalk page 16:16, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Qiy AfDs
If you put "nomination withdrawn", on the AfD, we can avoid a lot of people typing to no result. A shortcut to finding sources is {{find|MIKE SHE}} which produces Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL. (The scholar results are impressive.) Phlegm Rooster (talk) 18:31, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for the mild trouting. And thanks x2 for the find template info. I've got to ask your opinion/advice on something though. I really think these articles are just spam. Even the pages for the software products that are notable are still written like marketing brochures. Total spam, IMO, and it annoys me that it is there. What can be done? I've killed the AfD and updated all the article pages for now. Livitup (talk) 19:14, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- They annoyed me too, I put speedy tags on a couple. This Qiy dude is a newbie, and I think just a convinced geologist rather than a spammer. If he is a member of the software company, he is less spammy than most, and seems to be acting in good faith, even if he breaks rules. I say nominate the weakest software packages one at a time, then once they are deleted, address the spam issues. Phlegm Rooster (talk) 19:32, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. I'll add it to my (growing) list of things to do. :) Livitup (talk) 19:49, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Pacific Energy
I just started this company, it is a large multinational oil and mining company. You deleated the thing even before I got to add the information. So in the future be patient I have been Wikipedia for a long time and have created a lot of articles which people are now editing.
So dont delete this
trueblood (talk) 02:13, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Why could you not wait a few days until the article is completed, it is improper to delete without having all the information. Once I am done than one can judge not before. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Trueblood786 (talk • contribs) 22:13, 2 July 2008
- Great to see another experienced editor, nice to meet you! :) I'm sure you know that only administrators have the ability to actually delete articles. I am not an adminstrator, so I can assure you I didn't actually delete the article you are referring to. So if you want to take this up with the admin that deleted the article, you'll need to contact Discospinster (talk). What I did do was tag your article for speedy deletion, which brought it to the notice of the admins. I don't remember the contents of this specific article, but I do know that I recommended it be deleted because it appeared that the article didn't (and couldn't) meet Wikipedia's requirements for notability for corporations. If you check that link, you'll see that the company needs to be documented in multiple secondary sources. Press releases and other self published material can't be used as a source. Being large and multinational are great, but they don't eliminate the need for sources.
- You are free to recreate the article, and if you choose to do so I would suggest that you make sure you have your sources lined up beforehand and ready to load into the article. As long as the article is well sourced and not spam, I'll never suggest it be deleted. Good luck, and have fun! Livitup (talk) 13:08, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, as you know it takes a long time to create a good article and I dont always have time to put all the information until months of hard work.

PR request
Have you Peer Reviewed an earthquake article yet? I find it humiliating that there are only four earthquake-related GAs and only one earthquake-related FAs. I would like to make the number of FAs two, but being a major editor on 2008 Sichuan earthquake, I am quite helpless in catching errors (because I am biased), and my MoS skills aren't the best around. So if you have time, please consider leaving a peer review here. It would be very much appreciated. Thanks! --haha169 (talk) 18:37, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
battle of the harvest should be kept
i just created a full version of the correct way to put the wikipedia page.
Scary dragon atop the hill (talk) 23:27, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- I disagree, and have listed it for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Battle of the Harvest. Unfortunately the speedy deletion process doesn't cover albums, only bands, although I certainly wish it did since it would save a lot of time. Thanks for your input, if you choose to offer any. Accounting4Taste:talk 00:50, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- I disagree as well, and explained why at the AfD. Livitup (talk) 19:29, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Welcome!
Welcome Livitup/Archive 1
Thank you for joining the Law Enforcement Wikiproject on the English Wikipedia! As you would have guessed we are a group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to law enforcement
Since you now are a member you get to have our userbox or banner on your userpage! To add these use:
{{User WikiprojectPolice}}
-- our userbox, or{{Lawenforcementmember}}
-- our member banner.
Here are some more tips to get you started:
- Creating articles: See here for articles you can create, but don't forget to add [[Category:Law enforcement]] to the base of the article and our project banner to the talk page of the article using {{WPLE}}
- Participate on our talk page: It is highly recommended that you watchlist it. There are also a number of small projects on the talk page as well that may be of interest to you!
- Check the bulletin board: For news and information, please read the bulletin board regularly or add it to you user-page using:
{{Lawenforcementbulletinboard}}
- Improve an article: Click here to find all the really short articles, pick one from that list and improve it. When you are done go to the talk page of that article and removed {{WPLE| class=Stub}} the bit in bold and another editor will be along to see how well you have done and reassess the article to a much higher class.
All members are reminded:
- That this project aims for: No vandalism, no conflict and if particular articles in this project are suffering from vandalism, edit wars or talk-page abuse, please add it to the Article Watch List

RE:Protection of MOS and NAME
We have some vandals who find it funny to move high-profile pages to usually highly offensive titles, thus leaving a semi-permanent record in the log for the article. If these pages needed to be moved for some reason, than obviously consensus would need to be made first and the move would have to go to WP:RM anyway, so there is really no need to give editors the ability to move these pages. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk ♦ contribs) @ 08:42, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- Ooooookayyyyy... I know what move vanadalism is, but I went back over a year and I never saw the MOS vandalized. It was moved once, that I count, as part of an edit "war" where the move was reverted once and then discussed. Isn't page protection done on the same principle as blocks...not done preemptively. I don't know if this is totally normal practice, but I've never run across it before, and it just kinda rubbed me wrong. Livitup (talk) 14:35, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well it is a matter of opinion I guess. I chose those pages because I wanted to make sure that every page on {{Wikipedia policies and guidelines}} was protected from moving as they are highly visible pages that would make great "targets." I am sure you will see in the future many more "established" pages getting move protection, as a lot of admins are going around just protecting articles that have established names from moving. Hope that explains! « Gonzo fan2007 (talk ♦ contribs) @ 18:23, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello Livitup.
I just wanted to let you know that I moved Start an article right to User:Livitup/Start an article right, because essays should not be in the article space. Hopefully, I moved it to the name you were looking for. If not, just lemmeknow and I can fix it for you, or you can fix it yourself.
I wrote this so you know what happened to your page.

Hiya. I've declined to speedy the above, as the article does assert notability (awards, professorship, external references). I'd recommend WP:AFD. Pedro : Chat 07:43, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
- Don't worry - it was a copy-vio so deleted under G12! Pedro : Chat 07:53, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

- It was borderline A7 as well, to be honest, and I suspect wouldn't have survived an AFD but it's best to err on the side of caution. I do try to advise editors if a speedy is declined, but it doesn't always happen :( - It's a courtesy thing I guess. Thanks for the kind words! Pedro : Chat 08:01, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
