I have come across a WP:FOUR article where the bulk of the creation was in userspace. What is the start date of the article in your opinion? I was thinking that we should do a history merge and use the very start of the development. However, a case could be made for the move date to article space.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:08, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
- I personally would use the date that the article was moved to mainspace (February 12), because that's what made it eligible for a DYK. It was just a userspace draft prior to then. (It looks like Black Kite (talk · contribs) already did a history merge, by the way.) LittleMountain5 22:57, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
I have moved the discussion to Wikipedia_talk:Four_Award#Starting_point_of_a_page_started_in_userspace.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 23:45, 26 May 2013 (UTC)

Hydronymy
Hallo, I am interested in hydronymy as it looks the language of prehistoric Europe is reflected therein. I left a message on the wikiproject rivers talkpage, just looking for editors with similar interests to exchange information. I have discovered the so called old european hydronymy is not limited to Europe but has many correspondences in Iran, India and furhter away so I think this disproves the current scholarly etymological interpretations. Presently I am trying to research Bengal and Burma. Thanks for reading.Aldrasto11 (talk) 11:24, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about European hydronymy, so I won't be of much help to you. But good luck! LittleMountain5 17:30, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Colorado River at FAC
DYK for Saint Joe River
On 23 July 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Saint Joe River, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the Saint Joe River has been described as the highest navigable river in the world? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Saint Joe River. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
DYK RfC
- As a listed DYK participant, you are invited to contribute to a formal Request for Comment on the question of whether Good Articles should appear in the Did You Know? slot in future. Please see the proposal on its subpage here, or on the main DYK talk page. To add the discussion to your watchlist, click this link. Thank you in advance. New rule
FYI, Wikipedia_talk:Four_Award#Impending_rule_change.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/WP:FOUR/WP:CHICAGO/WP:WAWARD) 06:23, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- Please confirm my assessment of Martin Keamy and Tropical Storm Brenda (1960).--TonyTheTiger (T/C/WP:FOUR/WP:CHICAGO/WP:WAWARD) 08:01, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- If I understand the new rule correctly, both should still be fine, because they were nominated at DYK before their GANs passed. LittleMountain5 16:01, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- I see Keamy GA pass time is 19:45, 2 July 2008 (UTC) at Talk:Martin Keamy/GA1. A mouseover pointed to this edit at 04:40, 3 July 2008. On closer inspection, I see that this earlier edit at 0:26, 29 June 2008 means we are all good.
- I see Brenda's GA pass time is 19:40, 9 January 2010 (UTC) at Talk:Tropical Storm Brenda (1960)/GA1 and Brenda's nom 21:39, 5 January 2010. I think when I did the mouseover on the preview button for this diff it looked like 9 January instead of 5.
- Apologies. Trying to rip through 75 of these, I took some shortcuts using mouseovers so I did not have to wait for pages to load. It looks like we won't lose any FOURs.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/WP:FOUR/WP:CHICAGO/WP:WAWARD) 20:45, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Collaborations
I am just realizing that some of my WP:CHICOTW work should have been evaluated for collaborators. I initially nominated them considering only my own work, but of course have never reviewed them myself. It is likely that reviewers did not evaluate possible collaborators for FOUR consideration at both Chicago Board of Trade Building and South Side, Chicago. The latter would just be for recordkeeping since it has been delisted.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/WP:FOUR/WP:CHICAGO/WP:WAWARD) 00:29, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- You never gave me your opinion of my collaborators on the above. Also, for the record, can you give me an opinion on whether involvement was heavy enough in No. 2 Operational Conversion Unit RAAF for FOUR recognition.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 17:23, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
- Chicago Board of Trade Building: LurkingInChicago (talk · contribs) should definitely receive FOUR credit, because he created the first encyclopedic content, wrote the vast majority of the article, and was active in all four stages of development (less so at FAC, but I think his contributions there were significant enough for consideration).
- South Side, Chicago: I'm not sure if Speciate (talk · contribs) was involved enough in the later stages of the article's development to receive FOUR credit. (Assuming the article ever regains its FA status.)
- No. 2 Operational Conversion Unit RAAF: I don't think Nick-D (talk · contribs) was involved enough to meet FOUR's DYK, GA, or FA criteria. LittleMountain5 16:50, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

The content was deleted because the information you posted (copied from older sources and not your own research) regarding Dinacoma is not up to date/accurate. I am in the process of revising the genus and there have been some taxonomic changes that you are not aware of. I'm open to new taxonomic and morphological information if you have any to contribute? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.234.183.121 (talk) 20:12, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
- If you would like to remove the current paragraph and replace it with more recent/accurate information, please feel free to do so, provided that you have a verifiable source to back it up—Wikipedia does not accept original research. Also, I did not write the article (and indeed know very little about this particular beetle), so please contact the main author, Melchoir (talk · contribs), or post on the article's talk page regarding any perceived factual inaccuracies. Mexico river list
Thanks for the heads-up. I've never thought about the problem you've pointed out. Does the entire sandbox history automatically tag along every time I create a new article in a sandbox and then move it to mainspace? If so, I may have done this 200 times, not sure. Should I be doing something different? Finetooth (talk) 23:49, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, it probably only happens during a "move" rather than when I use cut-and-paste. So maybe the other 199 creations did not have this problem? Finetooth (talk) 23:52, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, the edit history only moves when the page is moved, not when it is cut-and-pasted. So if the sandbox is new and the entire history is relevant to the article, moving is great. But if the sandbox is older and has a long history, all those old edits will come along with it, so it's better to cut-and-paste. It's really not too big of a problem—just a little confusing for anyone looking at the page history. (As it stands, the Mexico list appears to have over 5,000 revisions!) Cheers, LittleMountain5 00:04, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for noticing this and seeking a remedy. Finetooth (talk) 00:26, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
- No problem. The list's history is fixed, but due to the difficulty of the request, the other edits are now at User:Finetooth/George Washington Weidler, User:Finetooth/South Fork Clackamas River, and User:Finetooth/Sandbox6. Sorry about that; do whatever you want with them. LittleMountain5 16:36, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Huggle 3
Hey Little_Mountain_5! I am Petrb, one of core developers of Huggle, the antivandalism tool, which you are beta testing (according to http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers). I am happy to announce that Huggle 3 is ready for some testing. You can read more about it at WP:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta. Please keep in mind that this is a development version and it is not ready for regular use. That means you must:
- Watch your contribs - when anything happens you didn't want, fix it and report a bug
- Frequently checkout source code and build latest version, we change it a lot
Bibleversefinder thanks
Thanks for getting that, Little Mountain. May I ask, where did you see the request? Is User:AnomieBOT/TPERTable on your watchlist? --Atethnekos (Discussion, Contributions) 07:34, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
- No problem! Yes, TPERTable is on my watchlist and I also just added it to my user page earlier today. If there are any other templates that need fixing, let me know. LittleMountain5 07:40, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info; nice to know the new system (template-protected requests, I mean) is working. --Atethnekos (Discussion, Contributions) 07:56, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
