Information icon Hello, I'm Oblivy. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Afrobeat have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Oblivy (talk) 08:11, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

why the removal. Komxy (talk) 08:31, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
First, you inserted an unnecessary link in the lead paragraph, in fact, in the article title. Second, the link was to a blog which per WP:BLOG is not a reliable source. It looks like an attempt to promote a blog, not to add to the information in the article. Oblivy (talk) 08:47, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Afrobeat, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Oblivy (talk) 08:50, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This link I drop is a link to a reliable source. In the article history of afrobeat as well as afrobeat is been addressed. My intention is not promote a blog but gives information which I did adding the link where the information is giving. Komxy (talk) 08:58, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Afrobeat shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Cite reliable sources

[edit]

You added a blog link to the introduction of the Afrobeat article. Thanks for your contribution however Blogs are not reliable sources on Wikipedia. On top of that, this blog was written by you yourself without any peer review or inline citation. Please read more on what constitutes a reliable source on Wikipedia at WP:RS.

On top of that the link you shared has not added value to the existing article rather than self promotion.Kwesi Yema (talk) 10:31, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
