CSD tagging

[edit]

Hi, Kanata Kid. It seems you're tagging pages for speedy deletion with the template {{db-reason}} and the reason given as "reason". This doesn't make it clear why it should be speedy deleted. If you see WP:CSD, you'll see all sorts of templates you can use to tell why it should be deleted. Or, you could use db-reason with something like "Nonsense" or "Vandalism" or whatever. Thanks, SpecialK(KoЯn flakes) 19:59, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

abortive flower

[edit]

Could you please give the article more than 1 minute before you decide to delete it? It is a stub that needs work, yes. But it is a legitimate term. Please give it a little time to grow (excuse the pun). Many articles of substance start out as tiny stubs. See the original edit of Billboard, for example. Kingturtle (talk) 14:35, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. Sometimes I just get a little overzealous when patrolling new articles.--Kanata Kid (talk) 14:41, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Please remove the tag. And by the way, the stub I created does not lack "sufficient context to identify the subject of the article." Kingturtle (talk) 14:49, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Kid. Kingturtle (talk) 14:53, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Scores (Restaurant)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Scores (Restaurant), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Alphageekpa (talk) 20:31, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Scores (Restaurant)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Scores (Restaurant), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Fails primary criteria of notability established by WP:CORP guidelines. Content of article is primarily advertising in nature, and generally unencyclopedic.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. An article you created maybe deleted soon: Tools which can help you

[edit]

The article you created: Scores (Restaurant) may be deleted from Wikipedia.

There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:

The faster you respond on this page, the better chance the article you created can be saved.

Finding sources which mention the topic of your article is the very best way to avoid an article being deleted {{Findsources3}}:

Find sources for Scores (Restaurant) : google news recent, google news old, google books, google scholar, NYT recent, NYT old, a9, msbooks, msacademic ...You can then cite these results in the Article for deletion discussion.

Also, there are several tools and helpful editors on Wikipedia who can help you:

  1. List the page up for deletion on Article Rescue Squadron. You can get help listing your page on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
  2. You can request a mentor to help explain all of the complex rules that editors use to get a page deleted: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond to you before responding on the article for deletion page.
  3. When trying to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. Don't let these acronyms intimidate you.
Here is a list acronyms you can use yourself: WP:Deletion debate acronyms which may support the page you created being kept.
  4. You can vote to merge the article into a larger or better established article on the same topic.

If your page is deleted, you still have many options available. Good luck! travb (talk) 02:17, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Serbian footballers and notability

[edit]

I can't figure it out either, but for some reason Wikipedia considers all professional athletes to be prima facie notable, and a statement to the effect that they are pro athletes suffices for an assertion of notability. I have thus taken your speedy deletion tag off the Branislav Stanic page. See Wikipedia:Notability (people)#Athletes. At least he's not a Pokémon. --Dynaflow babble 13:26, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Search wikipedia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a user page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a regular Wikipedia article rather than a user page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your reasoning on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- IRP 00:17, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Kanata Kid,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
