An I.P. address made a cry for help, in your name, under requests for page protection. I don't know if it was you or not, but is there a problem or question that you have? Tealwisp (talk) 18:54, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

One Thing About Me

[edit]

'One thing about me is I don't delete any one else's pages just becuase I think that it's silly. If I do think that I at least do research on it for deletion.

Please respond to my comment

Proposed deletion of Frank Maresca

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Frank Maresca, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Unsourced WP:BLP with no content beyond what appears on I Love New York (season2), I Love Money (season 1) and I Love Money 2.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Plastikspork (talk) 15:31, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Kendall Davis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Morbidthoughts (talk) 19:06, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

May 2009

[edit]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Kendall Davis. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. Morbidthoughts (talk) 19:07, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi My Name Is Casesamong

[edit]

My name is Casesamong, how are you doing. You know what I used to be on this website until they kicked me off for speaking my mind. I have beef with TexasAndroid, Thingg, NawlinWiki, and Geogre. They need to stop thinking they run Wikipedia and grow up. I wish I was still on this website but I'm not. And yet some how I still can find a way to get on and leave my nasty comments (if you let them tell it). Oh, don't worry I don't like you either, I'm just using you to get my opions out.

Stop Casesamong

[edit]

Stop Casesamong, I don't know you and you need to stop violating Wikipedia like it's your personal e-mail account. That's the only thing I have to say to YOU.

Sourcing

[edit]

Hello, K.M.D1994. The information you added to the Whitney Houston article needs to be sourced, which is why it was reverted. You also need to be more careful in the way you add information to articles here, as to make sure words are not too close together and the punctuation is right.

Since you are still relatively new here to Wikipedia, I give you this list to help your editing here:

  1. Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, which summarizes what belongs in Wikipedia and what does not;
  2. Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, which describes Wikipedia's mandatory core approach to neutral, unbiased article-writing;
  3. Wikipedia:No original research, which prohibits the use of Wikipedia to publish personal views and original research of editors and defines Wikipedia's role as an encyclopedia of existing recognized knowledge;
  4. Wikipedia:Verifiability, which explains that it must be possible for readers to verify all content against credible external sources (following the guidance in the Wikipedia:Risk disclaimer that is linked-to at the bottom of every article);
  5. Wikipedia:Reliable sources, which explains what factors determine whether a source is acceptable;
  6. Wikipedia:Citing sources, which describes the manner of citing sources so that readers can verify content for themselves; and
  7. Wikipedia:Manual of Style, which offers a style guide—in general editors tend to acquire knowledge of appropriate writing styles and detailed formatting over time.

These are often abbreviated to WP:NOT, WP:NPOV, WP:NOR, WP:V, WP:RS, WP:CITE, and WP:MOS respectively. Also, you need to always sign your comments when "talking" on Wikipedia talk pages. To sign your comments, all you have to do is type four tildes (~~~~) beside them.

Take care. Flyer22 (talk) 00:18, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 17:55, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Kelly Rowland third album has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:HAMMER

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 1. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Whip My Hair, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Beyonce Infobox Image

[edit]

You can't just take the image down just because we have not come up with an agreement. There still has to be an image there, even if your deciding to change it. Plus I don't think it needs to change. The image is of good quality and shows her face very clearly, which is very important. I'm still unsure on what image you want to replace it with. Could you show me? Thanks! ozurbanmusic (talk) 21:22, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK they are non-free images so you can't use them on here. Only images that people have taken themselves and uploaded it on here can be used. ozurbanmusic (talk) 19:32, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading images

[edit]

Step 1, find the image of the album cover from a source on the web, preferably from the record label or the artist's website. You will want a low resolution version (e.g., 300 x 300 pixels or smaller). Step 2, if you check on the left side of the screen, you should see a "toolbox". In the toolbox is a link to "upload file". Click on this link. Step 3, on the upload page, you will see a link for "The cover of an album or a single", click on this link. Step 4, on the next upload page, click on "an infobox about the single/album". Step 5, select the file that you downloaded, pick a descriptive name for the image (e.g., Walk_the_Line_1992.jpg), and select "album cover" for the license. That should be it and you will be ready to go. Let me know if you have more questions. I would do it for you, but "give a man a fish, ...". Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 19:33, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at all the bot messages below, it appears you had some trouble. It appears the issues are (1) you must specify the source for the image, (2) you must make sure that it is used in an article. If you want to try again, let me know after you upload one, and I can try to make sure everything checks out properly. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 01:15, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Mary Wilson Supreme Faith.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Mary Wilson Supreme Faith.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 20:33, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Mary Wilson Book.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Mary Wilson Book.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:34, 16 November 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 20:34, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Kelly Rowland AroundLincolnCenterDay.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Kelly Rowland AroundLincolnCenterDay.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:05, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Kelly_Rowland_AroundLincolnCenterDay.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Kelly_Rowland_AroundLincolnCenterDay.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 06:58, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mary Wilson

[edit]

Note that I have reverted your edits to Mary Wilson (singer). Headers should only capitalize the first word unless it is a proper noun, future untitled albums are not included per WP:CRYSTAL, and personal information should never be added to biography articles without including a reliable source for verification. In addition, you added an image to the article which does not appear to meet our free use criteria; this has been removed as well until proper licensing information can be supplied. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 16:23, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. I went ahead and cleaned up the tags and missing licensing for the file. If you have any questions about either the fair use rationales or how to look for appropriate licensing templates, please feel free to ask. Kindly Calmer Waters 01:49, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with upload of File:Mary Wilson arrives.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mary Wilson arrives.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:06, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Mary Wilson arrives.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Russavia Let's dialogue 20:00, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Stephmcmahon.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Stephmcmahon.jpg.

Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 01:45, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]
You have been unblock indefinitely from editing for chronic violation of copyright and image usage policies. I notice that you have dozens of image problems noted on your talk page, and you still don't seem to be understanding our policies. Your addition of a copyrighted image to Kelly Rowland violated WP:NFCC, because all images of living people may be replaced with free ones eventually. We don't permit copyrighted images to illustrate biographies of living people for that reason. It also was a copyright problem, because you did not indicate the source of the image, or who the copyright holder even was. Any administrator can unblock you without consulting me after you have reviewed WP:IUP and WP:NFCC. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Please, Unblock Me

[edit]

Could you please unblock. I don't think that it's right that you block me for a few simple mistakes. Because all I was trying to do was learn how to post images, but since I never got the opportunity to learn due to you blocking me I guess I learned my lesson and won't be trying to post anymore images. From now on I'll be sticking to just editing as far as writing facts.K.M.D1994 7:35 AM, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

If you would like to apply for an unblock, please follow the unblock instructions included in your block message above. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 17:06, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You were welcomed in Feb 2009. One of the menu items was to the 5 Pillars of Wikipedia, which discusses copyright. You have made 792 edits since. Many of them have been copyright violations, of which you were warned of many individual times. In other words, you were ADVISED of the copyright policy 3-1/2 years ago - your choosing to finally read it is "a little to [sic] late if you ask me" = ✉→BWilkins←✎ 20:20, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You claim that you were blocked before you could learn the copyright policy, however your talk page indicated that you've been receiving copyright warnings for a year before you were blocked - more than enough time to realise that you're doing something wrong and read the policy or ask for help. You did neither of it. Max Semenik (talk) 19:51, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's because I found out about the copyright policy a little bit later on. A little to late if you ask me. User:K.M.D1994 4:09, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Copyright is the law in the United States; I don't think you will find anyone to unblock you unless you clearly explain what the copyright rules are, and what you are going to do to avoid breaking them in the future. A vague 'I have learned my lesson' doesn't allow me to evaluate whether you are going to break the same law in the future. This request is a bit like taking a test in school and filling in the answers with the sentence, 'I know the answers to this test.' FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 19:30, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:E.g., Walk the Line 1992.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:E.g., Walk the Line 1992.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 13:37, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
