Information icon Hello, I'm Ronz. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you.

See also WP:COI in case it might apply. --Ronz (talk) 00:03, 9 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ronz. I would kindly ask that you elaborate. Firstly, the article now does not make reference to Euro Commencial Paper - which is a major international market. I see that the reference to ECP has now been taken away, which is very problematic as it makes the article incomplete! Secondly, the CMDportal page has public information on ECP, which is why I referenced it http://www.cmdportal.com/Public/Data.aspx.

Furthermore, the article had an incomplete external reference at the end, and I merely updated the previous link that only mentioned CPdaily, which is a CMdportal product.

I hope this clears things up!

Johnjohn

Hi Johnjohn. Your editing appears to be following in the footsteps of 90.198.185.11 (talk · contribs), for the purposes of promoting CMdportal without regard to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. :If, after reviewing WP:EL, you feel the link belongs in any External links sections, please bring it up on the article's talk page for discussion. If there is no agreement, the link should not be added.
As for including CMdportal's publications as references, again use the article's talk page, but the relevant policies/guidelines are WP:V and WP:RS. --Ronz (talk) 15:55, 9 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ronz This all very strange. The article is now missing the bit about Euro Commercial Paper, and is hence incomplete and misleading despite the time I devoted to this task. Regarding the link at the bottom, I simply tried to improve (rename) the old link (Cpdaily) that had been there forever so that people could understand what they were looking at. If you agree that the article should be made worse by having less information and statistics - then I guess there is no point in continuing this discussion - insanity prevails! Sadly this is what Wikipedia has become - where it is effectively impossible to improve articles and insert relevant references. I know if no other source providing public information on the international money market other than CMDportal. Thanks for you time, this has been a total waste of time.

We're going over old ground now. If you want to create an article called CMDportal, find references that refer to CMDportal. If you only have references to Capital Market Daily, make that the article title and you can redirect CMDportal to it. Is it really so difficult? Deb (talk) 12:00, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deb It would be great to create a new article, but Wikipedia won't allow it - due to it being blocked on the basis of repeated deletions. Would you be able to do something about this? --Johnjohn mac (talk) 12:07, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The page title you have tried to create has been protected from creation. The reason given is: Repeatedly recreated. You may also wish to check the deletion log.

Deb, I guess you can see what the problem is? --Johnjohn mac (talk) 12:18, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I'll fix that. Deb (talk) 12:26, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deb Thanks vm!

Deb Pls let me know whan this is done and I look forward to your feedback. --Johnjohn mac (talk) 13:02, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deb I'm still getting the following message: You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reasons:

Sorry, I thought you were an autoconfirmed user. I'll look at it again. Deb (talk) 14:10, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deb Thank you kindly for your help - this is much appreciated. I have re-posted the page, (http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/CMDportal) complete with updated references that mention cmdportal. Please do let me know if you have any further feedback on the article or if there are any additional issues to address. --Johnjohn mac (talk) 14:52, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You reposted a page that didn't address prior concerns that got it deleted... therefore, it got deleted again.
Because you appear to have a WP:Conflict of interest regarding this subject, I highly recommend you try Wikipedia:Articles for creation to submit this article, where it will be reviewed for suitability prior to publishing in Wikipedia main space.
I originally protect the article from creation to encourage you to create it in Draft space or as a subpage of your user page, for submission to AFC. I recall advising you that way at WP:REFUND where you requested restoration. Because you ignored (or did not see) that advice, I am re-protecting the article again. This is not preventing you from working on it as a draft; it's just to prevent an unsuitable article from being recreated over an over again. ~Amatulić (talk) 23:18, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on CMDportal, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Thank you. --Cargeek100 (talk) 14:52, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

CMDportal

[edit]

Hi, thanks for message. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Your only in-line reference is to the company's own website, not independent. There is a list of bare urls at the end of the article, but because they are not in-line, I have no idea what claimed facts, if any, they are supporting. You can format in-line refs like this: <ref>[url description]</ref>
  • There is no claim of notability, it just says it's a company and what it does, doesn't show how it meets the notability criteria linked above.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. All you wanted to tell us about was what it's selling. No boring facts. How many employees? Turnover? Profits? Has the company ever received negative publicity? Who are its competitors?

Copy of a note I have left on Jim's talk page, addressed to you:
I do believe all this has been explained ad infinitum. As I think I previously advised, I would suggest you use Wikipedia:Articles for creation for future drafts of the article. Deb (talk) 16:16, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deb (talk) Jimfbleak I have written a draft cmdportal article (Draft:CMDportal) and submitted it. Hope you can give me feedback on this.--Johnjohn mac (talk) 21:13, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
