ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
[edit]Hello, Joeyvandernaald. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

The article Catalyst (journal) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable new journal. Not indexed in any selective databases, no independent sources. Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG. Too soon.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Randykitty (talk) 19:41, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- Randykitty - I see the point you've made here; I think that the journal, having just started, has not had the time to develop notability. Perhaps this should be deleted and then re-created once more issues are released.
Nomination of Catalyst (journal) for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Catalyst (journal) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Catalyst (journal) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Randykitty (talk) 10:56, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
The article Stanley Aronowitz bibliography has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
WP is not for posting lists of publications except of the most notable people (like Einstein). A short bibliography (with, say, 5 entries) with the most important selected works (as substantiated by independent sources) can be included in the article on this academic. All academics publish, but we don't need a completely list of publications for every one of them.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:17, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

Ways to improve CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies
[edit]Hi, I'm SkyGazer 512. Joeyvandernaald, thanks for creating CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. I would suggest sourcing more of the content with reliable secondary sources like the New York Post ref - currently most of the article's content relies solely on the official website.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Question re source
[edit]Hi. In this edit to 1976 Tangshan earthquake you added this source: International Association of Engineering Geology International Congress. Proceedings. [1990] (1990). ISBN 90-6191-664-X
. I am have some difficulty locating that source, and am wondering: do you have a copy available for verifying some details? Or can provide additional information? ♦ J. Johnson (JJ) (talk) 01:08, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
@Joeyvandernaald: Hello? ♦ J. Johnson (JJ) (talk) 21:05, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
- @J. Johnson: Hello! My apologies, I missed the notification for your initial post. Thanks for your patience. I've edited the citation to one that is more complete. Joeyvandernaald (talk) 13:40, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks. Incidentally, I moved the full citation into the Sources section and replaced the named-ref with a short-cite. I also tagged it with 'page needed', but I just got a copy, so I will lookitup tonight and fix that.
- The IAEG source intrigues me. On one hand, because of its general unavailability I want to supplant it with a better source. On the other hand, because it has been cited in a number of places, I am curious as to what it says. Do you have access to it? ♦ J. Johnson (JJ) (talk) 22:30, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I can't seem to get access to it now. There are a few other sources for that figure of 830k but they appear to be in Chinese. Thank you for cleaning up the page citation, I appreciate your work on this. Joeyvandernaald (talk) 16:29, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
- This "830k" figure is turning into a mini-project, so I will likely still be interested if you ever come across that source again. ♦ J. Johnson (JJ) (talk) 19:16, 29 October 2018 (UTC)

Devonian Wombat (talk) 22:30, 12 October 2020 (UTC)Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Deaths in Texas
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Deaths in Texas requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! [edit]Thank you for joining the Organized Labour project. I've been a participant in the project since 2006 and am helping with a revival of it. As part this we are introducing a new membership system, which will help with communications among participants. This involves creating a membership file for each participant within your user space (you can see an example of my membership card here: User:Goldsztajn/WikiProjectCards/WikiProject Organized Labour). This system is already in operation within a number of wikiprojects (such as Women in Red and Medicine). You will not have to do anything, myself or someone else from the project will create the relevant file within your userspace. However, I am conscious that it is not polite to change an editor's user space without notice. If I don't hear from you in the negative, I will go ahead with making the change after the 18th of January. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 02:44, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
