Vandalism and Obvious Bias on Edits Shown at Miss Universe 2018 by this contributor User:Jjj1238

This contributor's edits have been shown to lean on racial and ethnic discrimination, leaning on bias and stirring negative commentaries and opinions on the judging panel of the Miss Universe 2018 competition, and page. I have reverted his biased edits; thus, I have re-edited his biased description of judges for neutrality; the nationalities of the judges are irrelevant, rather, I have included more information on their advocacies, professional life, and charities. The nationalities - and race - of these judges have been blatantly used to sway the opinion of readers that the judging panel was non-objective in its decisions during the contest, an unfounded rumor without proof, evidence, or valid source reference, therefore rendering it unneutral.

If this contributor continues to edit with his subtle and blatant bias, I will be forced to tag her as a vandal and will be pushing for her total ban within Wikipedia and all its platforms.

Thanks.Migsmigss (talk) 01:07, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

  • @Migsmigss: I'm addressing this once before I move on. You cannot be serious with your claims. First off, there was absolutely no mention of race. Secondly, nationality is a DESCRIPTOR that is used throughout ALL of Wikipedia. Odd that you aren't against removing the references to Thailand and Namibia with Bui Simon and Michelle McLean, but only the mentions to being Filipino. Perhaps you are nervous people think Gray only won because the judging panel was half Filipino? Do not project, no one is thinking this, they are just further descriptors of the judges. I really don't care enough to continue to readd their nationalities, but you are overcomplicating the rest of the section. That is not the place to put every accomplishment the judges have achieved; that belongs on their individual articles if they have one. The only thing in the judges section should be each judge's name, and then their occupation. You are the only person who is seeing this as "biased", and in fact, your constant suppression of anything that could possibly show Catriona Gray in a less than 100% positive light proves that you are the one who is not editing with a neutral POV. I am not getting into this now, but your constant editing on Gray's article regarding her educational background is proving this, as you're trying to hide the fact she went to an online school, instead making it seem like she physically attended Berklee in Boston. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 01:16, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

"Perhaps you are nervous people think Gray only won because the judging panel was half Filipino? Do not project, no one is thinking this, they are just further descriptors of the judges. I really don't care enough to continue to readd their nationalities, but you are overcomplicating the rest of the section."

This clearly shows his subtle bias, leaning towards stirring racial issues and other negative feedback. Again, the nationalities of the judges, and even my own nationality, is questioned by this contributor. Does my nationality as a contributor matter, or is it qualified and brought up by this contributor because his arguments are non-reasons? His edits are simplistic at best and racial slurs at worst, focusing only on the nationality and race of the judges at the Miss Universe 2018 page, while the descriptors I have put in place are backgrounders of the judges careers, professional history, and advocacies.

Again, Wikipedia should be a place for tolerance, not bias, not racial discrimination, not unfounded and mal-educated edits from a biased contributor.

This is this contributor's second strike. Will be pushing for her total ban, if she will re-edit with bias again. Thanks.

i am not sure why you delete the content inspite of looking at the cited resources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lavikushi (talkcontribs) 03:03, 26 November 2017 (UTC)

You are not citing information correctly and are leaving links in the article, which you're not supposed to do. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 03:24, 26 November 2017 (UTC)

Copyrighted images of Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters

Twice now you have added images to Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters that are copyright violations [1][2]. Copyright might not be your thing, and I understand that. However, I would encourage you to be more careful in adding images. You've been here four years with 18k edits. You know a thing or two here. A casual check of these images has shown they are blatant copyright violations. A little more care is all I'm asking. If you're not really certain if any image is copyrighted, non-free, I'd recommend you ask. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 01:29, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

Honestly, the image was being used on the Russian Wikipedia page so I figured it was just fine to use. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 01:38, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

Proof of Demi-Leigh's heritage

Ms. Nel-Peters hails from the Western Cape and is visibly Coloured, with an article describing her as such. You have suspiciously edited her page numerous time in attempt to Afrikanise her obvious mixed ancestry. Stop. Article states Nel-Peters is mixed-race, i.e. Cape ColouredLailiae (talk) 04:33, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Please do not accuse me of something. When editing Wikipedia you need to cite reliable sources. You randomly added that she was Cape Coloured without any evidence, so obviously I removed that. Now that you have a source go ahead and add it, but if you think this is how Wikipedia works you're gonna have to educate yourself before you get yourself in trouble. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 04:39, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Are you threatening me? You're just upset because everyone is calling you out for the racist and plagiarist you are. Lailiae (talk) 04:44, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

What are you even talking about oh my god lmao. I'm telling you how Wikipedia works, if you can't follow the rules then I'm sorry. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 04:46, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
Well, sorry for my ignorance, but she's clearly not white. As a half-Dutch/black person who lived in SA for years I can say that I've seen lots of girls her colour; they're Coloured.Lailiae (talk) 04:49, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
Well here's also the thing with Wikipedia. We can't write information based off of our own experiences. This is called original research. Everything we write has to be cited with sources. Originally your claim had no sources to back it up, which is why I reverted it. You'll find that if you add potentially controversial information such as somebody's race to their page without a source, it'll likely end up being reverted, no matter how much first-hand experience you may have. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 04:51, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

3 revert rule reminder

I agree with your edits but just a friendly heads up that you are veering into 3RR territory on a couple of articles. I've added Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters to my watch list & will keep an eye on it but I'd suggest taking a break from further reverts for a day or two. --- PageantUpdater (talk) 07:02, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Isn't there an exemption to the three revert rule for obvious vandalism? These IP users are reverting my edits just because they're my edits so that's pretty obviously vandalism to me. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 07:04, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
"Reverting obvious vandalism—edits that any well-intentioned user would agree constitute vandalism, such as page blanking and adding offensive language". I don't think this falls under those sorts of examples. Definitely a grey line but probably best to err on the side of caution. --- PageantUpdater (talk) 08:13, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
Well if I can't undo them all of the time can you? Here's a list of pages that are targeted often.

Just keep an eye-out for IP users reverting all of my edits. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 11:17, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Manushi Chhillar

Hello. I am unable to add this content in the infobox of Manushi Chhillar. Since you removed it recently [3], I wanted to clarify this issue. There are reliable referances in my 'updated' version (If you allow me to post it in the article once) of this content and I don't think this will make the info box that long. "Tu me manques" English translation

Hi Jjj1238, regarding your edits on the France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 article, the verb "manquer" in French does not follow the same word order as in English. "Il me manque" becomes "I miss him" in English rather than "He misses me", and by the same logic, "Tu me manques" becomes "I miss you".Cambridge Dictionary "manquer"Collins Dictionary "manquer à q"bab.la "Tu me manques" English Translation Sar2de (talk) 19:48, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi

The article about H'Hen Niê was deleted before the AfD was completed or closed. It is very fishy. That the article was created by a sock is not a reason for deletion unless the article is deemed to be nonsense etc. the consensus was not even close to Delete. The AfD for this article is still active.--BabbaQ (talk) 22:50, 13 January 2018 (UTC)

I've noticed that a lot of beauty pageant titleholder articles get deleted because they were created by socks, even though they are fully functional articles that belong on Wikipedia. I never knew that they technically only should be deleted if they are made up of nonsense, so I feel like we should do something about this. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 23:01, 13 January 2018 (UTC)

Both of these articles fall under WikiProject Eurovision, and a rule of the project is that the EBU is the supreme source if some of our sources contradict. The EBU refers to Terzi as "Gianna" and the song as "Oneiro mou" (source). So no, these shall not be changed unless the EBU changes their spelling. Remember that the EBU doesn't simply make this information up on their own, they're in direct contact with the Greek delegation so this is how the Greek broadcaster is also spelling it. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 18:21, 23 February 2018 (UTC)

The Greek delegation have updated the name. Since EBU is the supreme source if some of our sources contradict, then please note that they have updated the contestant's name on their website. I'll let you update the articles. Gianna (Jianna) is the wrong spelling and wrong pronunciation, please let's stop spreading it. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 18:06, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

Good morning from Coreca, I write to greet you and know how are you, I'm pretty good for now, working for my cultural tourism association. I am writing to ask you a favor, that is to dedicate a little of your precious time to reassume the history of my little village (based from French translation). I also ask you a little courtesy, just and no more than 10 minutes of your precious time. I saw that you are very good in Latvian, Czech, Slovak and Swedish, I wondered to myself if you would like to translate into these languages Coreca and its topics, such as the Coreca Caves and the reefs, of course I will repay the courtesy with some articles in Italian, Sicilian, Neapolitan and Italian dialects that I know. Hello back!

Before you lay claim to someone's national birthplace make sure you check all of the famous ex yougoslavian enclaves and read some of the history that is in wikipedia atleast!,After not being on par with many albanian/kosovans reviews i made sure i fixed it to be on par with most of other ex-yougoslavian born people. Take for example Luka modric, perisic, melania trump, and many other famous people that were born in yougoslaiva before you actually lay claim to what's right and what's not do some actual reading behind the biography, her certificate and other national deciding documents. Thank you for your time , aslong as it is on par with being Kosovo as well as Yougoslavia so not even serbians or neither nationalists can lay claim on her nationality just after she became famous. This is not a place of hate, please do not make it so. Thank you for reaching out, and i`ll keep re`editing aslong as i can to what's actually right! Have a great day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Armeendb (talkcontribs) 10:53, 16 July 2018 (UTC)

@Armeendb: I am very pro-Kosovo but that has nothing to do with anything here. You had no consensus to change the birthplace, yet you did so without anyone supporting your decision. Clearly there was backlash regarding it, and it was reverted. This follows Wikipedia's bold, revert, discuss cycle. You were bold by changing the birthplace, I reverted it, and since it was reverted you have to discuss why you think it should be that way on the talk page, in order to gain consensus. This is how Wikipedia works, you can't just do whatever you want. Also, just because other Wikipedia articles do something does not mean that it's correct or should be implemented everywhere. This is something you learn by editing Wikipedia for years. Your edit was reverted edit once again, so please begin a discussion on the talk page so this can be worked on civilly. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 17:42, 16 July 2018 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Paulina Vega shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. - Donald Albury 21:54, 29 July 2018 (UTC)

RonBot (talk) 17:14, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

Miss France 2018

but they are included on the other pages wikipedia "Miss France 2017, 2016, 2015 ..." So why not on this page? These are official titles after all, the Miss France organization officially designated Maëva and Eva as Miss World France and Miss Universe France. So yes it's normal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thequeentimes (talkcontribs) 18:45, 3 October 2018 (UTC)

The Miss France 2018 article is specifically for the pageant, not for anything else. Anything regarding Coucke or Colas's extra titles besides Miss France 2018 and 1st Runner-Up should be detailed on their subsequent articles, or given a sentence in the Miss France 2018 article. The results box is exclusively for titles awarded at the pageant. Also if other articles are including this then they should be removed as well. This is confusing to the reader as they may believe that winning Miss France is equivalent to winning Miss World France, and being 1st runner-up is equivalent to being Miss Universe France, which we both know is not always the case. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 03:42, 4 October 2018 (UTC)

Song names

Just answering your edit summary:
Wikipedia is not a source by itself in order to change things according to how they are in different articles. And of course I don't have to know which article contains the song title to change it; that's why we are 34,713,255 users here. We check external sources and change things accordingly. —Dimsar01 Talk ⌚→ 19:15, 14 October 2018 (UTC)

@Dimsar01: I know what Wikipedia is. I've been editing here on WikiProject Eurovision for five years or so. When you see a name missing a space, but everywhere else it is mentioned (on the same article as well), it has a space, it's typically safe to assume it's a typo. Maybe next time if you're making edits like these, try to be thorough to avoid confusion. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 19:21, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
@Jjj1238: It's in double quotes, therefore what's included may be written as it is, like writing (sic). So an external check is recommended; it doesn't take more than two minutes anyway. —Dimsar01 Talk ⌚→ 19:27, 14 October 2018 (UTC)

I disagree with you there, the difference is that with other articles we don't have many (if any) photos of the contestants - especially of the contestants during the pageant activities. They're relevant and they should be included with the article. The subject is the event not the title and thus photos of contestants during the event are actually more relevant than an unrelated photo of the winner ...   CJ [a Kiwi] in  Oz  06:28, 20 October 2018 (UTC)

Your removal of content on Big Four international beauty pageants

Hello. Would you please explain why you removed the United States from the list of countries with most "Big Four" wins? - Tom | Thomas.W talk 19:21, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

@Thomas.W: Because it is vandalism. If you actually looked at the links, you would see that the U.S. did not win Miss Earth 2014. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 19:46, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
Then why didn't you say so in the edit summary? That's what edit summaries are for. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 19:54, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
And why didn't you just remove "Miss Earth 2014", change the total number of wins to 13, and leave the rest? - Tom | Thomas.W talk 21:19, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
@Thomas.W: This was obvious vandalism, the Philippines were already listed with winning the 2014 contest and simply going to the article would prove that, so I figured that this would raise no questions as long as someone actually did their research. As for your second claim, this is because that table is for countries who have won all four of the big four pageants. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 06:25, 7 November 2018 (UTC)

Slovakia/Slovak Republic

Hi, my name is Michael and I come in peace! Like you, I am very thorough in my research when it comes to the Miss Universe pageant. It is my hope that we will be able to work closely with one another going forward. It is not my intention to get into an edit war over the name, but if you refer to past pageants, Slovakia has always been known as Slovak Republic. This is how pageant officials differentiate the country from the Czech Republic. Wikipedia Commonname does not apply when it comes to the pageant pages. I am something of a perfectionist when it comes to these kinds of details, which I'm sure you can understand. Other users will likely agree with my assessment, so you may want to change it back before they do. Otherwise, everything else on the current page looks AMAZING and correct. I'm really excited for this year's pageant! --Rahu22 (talk) 13:22, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

@Rahu22: Saying that WP:COMMONNAME does not apply to pageant pages is not only incorrect, but shows that you need to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia policies. This is the same reason why we write "United States" instead of "USA", and "Korea" should be changed to "South Korea" as well. It does not matter what other users want (WP:IDONTLIKEIT), all that matters are the policies of Wikipedia. While I appreciate the kind words and agree I'm excited for this year's competition, the Slovakia/Slovak Republic argument is non-negotiable and it is clear that Slovakia is what should be written through WP:COMMONNAME. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 17:24, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

As you will plainly see on ALL previous Miss Universe Wikipedia pages & the OFFICIAL Miss Universe website, it is FACTUALLY INCORRECT to refer the the country as Slovakia. It is and always will be Slovak Republic. If you had done your research correctly, you would have realized this. Are you prepared to change ALL the other previous mentions of Slovak Republic to Slovakia? Really??? Wikipedia policies ARE negotiable because it is a publicly used site that strives to be as factually correct as possible. You can't just go around changing things because you feel like it. Stop playing God. And actually, SLOVAK REPUBLIC IS A COMMON NAME for the country!--Rahu22 (talk) 19:02, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

@Rahu22: Dear lord, please read WP:COMMONNAME and the examples given before having this discussion with me. If Lorde was announced at the 2014 Grammys as Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, is that the name we would thus write in the "Performers" section of the article? Obviously not, because Lorde is her common name, and the name that people will recognize. It is the same thing with pageants. Slovak Republic is the official name of Slovakia, which is its common name. This is clearly evidenced by the fact that the article is titled Slovakia and not Slovak Republic. I also think I need to remind you that precedent means nothing on Wikipedia. Just because something has been done a certain way does not mean that it's correct. Until only a short while ago the United States was referred to as "USA" on all Miss Universe articles, although this clearly violates WP:NOTUSA. This is all I will say for now as I believe I am answering all your answerable concerns (the others are purely incorrect statements about what Wikipedia is). { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 19:14, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

You just said it yourself: Slovak Republic is the official name of Slovakia. But I guess when it comes to the accuracy of the page itself, we can agree to disagree on this minor issue. For now, I will let the majority decide, which is the only fair way to settle such disputes (another one of Wikipedia's policies).--Rahu22 (talk) 19:33, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

@Rahu22: I still do not believe you're understanding the issue. Slovak Republic is the official name, Slovakia is the common name. This is the same distinction as United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (official) and United Kingdom (common), Federal Republic of Germany (official) and Germany (common), or Russian Federation (official) and Russia (common). Now are you sensing the pattern? We do not address countries by their official names, we address them by their common names. Just because the MUO calls Slovakia "Slovak Republic" does not mean that's what we call it (due to WP:COMMONNAME). We don't call the United States "USA" (which is what the MUO calls it) for the same reason. Additionally, you cannot debate Wikipedia policies here, if you have an issue with the policy you would like to address then take it up here. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 19:40, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

I just have a question: have you been hired by Wikipedia to work on these pages? If so, I apologize. You are just following the rules. Miss Universe is my baby, so I'm a bit protective of it. I have contributed a lot to the page over the years. Again, I meant no offense. --Rahu22 (talk) 19:50, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

No, I have not been hired. I am just passionate about pageantry like you are, and want to make the articles on here much more organized and easier to follow for people who want to learn more about them! Do not worry, I understand your concerns and was once in your position. Just educate yourself more on the policies of Wikipedia. Despite how Wikipedia is sometimes portrayed by people not familiar with editing here, it is not a free-for-all, and there are actually strict rules and guidelines regarding editing. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 20:02, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

Ok, but I don't envy you. It is VERY risky to make these changes. For instance, people are going to be quite confused when they don't see Korea where it should be alphabetically (they'll probably think it's missing). I agree with you, it shouldn't be a free-for-all, but still I'm a purist at heart and it's disappointing to see the page be tainted in this way.--Rahu22 (talk) 21:01, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

@Rahu22: Yes, I do understand, and I have frequently been the victim of backlash from people who don't like my edits. However, what they must know is I'm simply following rules, and lashing out against the following of rules can result in a block. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 02:43, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

The country of Slovakia has competed under the sash name "Slovak Republic" since their debut back in 1993 at Miss Universe. South Korea competes under the sash name "Korea" since a long time ago. Those policies are just in place for reference doesn't mean that it has to be followed. We are not putting "Slovak Republic" nor "Korea" just because we feel like, they've always competed under "Slovak Republic" and "Korea".

Same with the United States of America in Miss World. With Miss World they've always competed under the sash name "United States" which is why that's how its written for the past 52 years on the yearly Miss World articles. On the contrary, that country competes under the sash "USA" which is why it's written like that on the Miss Universe page. Art 281 (talk) 23:19, 23 November 2018 (UTC)

@Art 281: Thank you for making up your own nonexistent rules. As I've said many times, we follow WP:COMMONNAME. Through this policy we will refer to countries by their common names unless via a proper noun. While the title itself may be Miss Universe Slovak Republic, the country that they are representing is Slovakia. Just like how the title Miss USA yet they are representing the United States. Your comparison with Miss World also is irrelevant considering "United States" is the correct way of writing it. Even if the title was "Miss World USA" we would write it as "United States". You cannot just make up your own rules and I do not appreciate your edit (which I've reverted) on the Miss Universe 2018 that was done without any discussion. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 05:19, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

Girl, bye. I am not making up an non-existent rule. Common names may apply to other articles where it's necessary but with beauty pageants it's based on what their sashes say, they don't say "South Korea" nor "Slovakia" they say "Korea" and "Slovak Republic". It's always been written like that in the past it's not something new. Art 281 (talk) 08:22, 25 November 2018 (UTC)

@Art 281: Please just listen to me. You are blatantly not following Wikipedia policies and that is not how things work here. You cannot just say "oh this policy doesn't apply here because this is a beauty pageant". Where does it say anything about that in WikiProject Beauty Pageants? It doesn't. @Drm310: You say we have "different" interpretations but that is not actually the case. The interpretation is not being debated, Art 281 is simply stating that a Wikipedia policy does not apply because it's a "beauty pageant" we're talking about, and is edit warring on the article. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 17:29, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) As an uninvolved third party in this content dispute, could I make a friendly suggestion to take this to WP:DRN? Your interpretations of WP:COMMONNAME appear to be different, and the above discussion does not appear to be going anywhere. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 06:49, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

Sierra Leone

Good morning Anastasija, from now on I will consult with you before making any edits. Today I have a question about Sierra Leone. Wasn't she supposed to be crowned yesterday? Their website isn't even there anymore and there's been no word from other sites. How long do you usually wait before you delete the country from the list? Something tells me that they have dropped out of Miss Universe again, making this the second year in a row they haven't participated. That will bring the count down to 94 countries. I'm sure you're as anxious to bring the page to completion as I am! Thanks. --Rahu22 (talk) 14:23, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

@Rahu22: Personally, I don't typically deal with adding contestants to the Miss Universe page, unless it is a pageant that has their own article and I was updating the results live (such as Miss USA, Miss France, or Miss Russia). Due to this, I am unsure whether or not to remove Sierra Leone from the list. My best advice would be to leave them on the list and try waiting to see if any information comes out later. Sometimes countries (especially less developed countries) are more off-the-grid when it comes to pageantry, and it may take awhile to actually find their results. If we have a reliable source saying their pageant was due to be held yesterday, then we should believe that it was until we're told otherwise. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 15:02, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

Natalie Glebova

Dear Jjj1238,

In your latest edits to http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Natalie_Glebova you did not follow Wikipedia guidelines regarding editing BLP articles.

I undid your edits for the following reasons:

This article is a collective work of many people. All information was verified and sourced.

You cannot edit biography of living person the way you did.

You removed about 25% of the article.

You incorrectly changed persons names without providing source for your edits.

Official name is Natalie Glebova as in all her documents.

You published it as Natalya Vladimirovna "Natalie" Glebova. There is no need to put duplicate birth name, and why it is “Natalie”?

You published incorrect father name, see correct name here: http://workpermit.com/news/new-miss-universe-hopes-be-role-model-immigrants-20050531

As for English, why are you using present tense in the first sentence? “Vladimir works… Anna is…”

Why did you remove information about the book “Healthy Happy Beautiful”?

Why did you remove Natalie’s daughter name?

Why did you delete the whole chapter “Endorsements”?

Pease do not edit until we reach consensus. Voyad M (talk) 20:16, 25 November 2018 (UTC)

@Voyad M: Here we go...

"This article is a collective work of many people." Every article is
"All information was verified and sourced." Incorrect
"You cannot edit biography of living person the way you did." Don't even know what this means
"You removed about 25% of the article." Because it was unsourced or not suitable for Wikipedia
"Official name is Natalie Glebova as in all her documents." Her birth name is Natalya Vladimirovna Glebova, which is what I emphasized
"You published incorrect father name, see correct name here" My mistake, it's more often than not safe to assume someone will have the same surname as their father
"As for English, why are you using present tense in the first sentence?" Are they dead? If not it is assumed they still work
"Why did you remove information about the book “Healthy Happy Beautiful”?" I'm not even sure what this is
"Why did you remove Natalie’s daughter name?" Privacy of non-notable minors per WP:Minors and persons judged incompetent
"Why did you delete the whole chapter “Endorsements”?" Because a section on endorsements does not belong on Wikipedia, look at articles like Iris Mittenaere, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Pia Wurtzbach. Their endorsements may be mentioned in other sections if they're relevant, but they should not receive an entire section.

{ [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 20:45, 25 November 2018 (UTC)

This means that no single person can re-write the whole article to her taste. Please read guidelines.
"You removed about 25% of the article." Because it was unsourced or not suitable for Wikipedia
How do you know it is unsourced or suitable for Wikipedia? It is just your opinion
"Official name is Natalie Glebova as in all her documents." Her birth name is Natalya Vladimirovna Glebova, which is what I emphasized
I mention that her birth name is already published on the right box of the page, no need to repeat it.
"As for English, why are you using present tense in the first sentence?" Are they dead? If not it is assumed they still work
Not nice about dead. They worked in those positions back in Russia. After moving to Canada they work as software specialists.
"Why did you remove information about the book “Healthy Happy Beautiful”?" I'm not even sure what this is
The article says that Natalie "is author", you removed information that she wrote and published the book “Healthy Happy Beautiful”.
"Why did you remove Natalie’s daughter name?" Privacy of non-notable minors per WP:Minors and persons judged incompetent
Agree with you
"Why did you delete the whole chapter “Endorsements”?" Because a section on endorsements does not belong on Wikipedia, look at articles like Iris Mittenaere, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Pia Wurtzbach. Their endorsements may be mentioned in other sections if they're relevant, but they should not receive an entire section.
The chapter “Endorsements” contains important facts about her biography and those facts belong to Wikipedia. You can rename that chapter or move endorsements to other sections but you should not delete them.

Dear Jjj1238, please help me. Some Indonesia's fans had tried to change page Miss International 1976 and Indonesia at major beauty pageants. They changed placements of theirs country. They robbed achivements of some countries and replaced with theirs contestants. If you see history of these pages, you can see it. I tried to stop but did not succeed. Reaching a Compromise

Hi, you will be happy to hear that the Miss Universe Organization has changed the name of Slovak Republic to Slovakia. You will see this on their official website under Contestants. I have a feeling this is because Slovenia isn't participating this year. The two country names are very similar, so they probably wanted to avoid any confusion in the past. However, Korea is still Korea. I will let Art281 know. --Rahu22 (talk) 20:31, 29 November 2018 (UTC)

Masked Singer table

So, what's the reasoning for the order in the "Contestants" table? It's not alphabetical and it's not chronological. It doesn't seem to make sense to put the ones that haven't yet performed above those that have. -Musdan77 (talk) 01:46, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

What? It is alphabetical and chronological. Are you reading it upside down? It's alphabetical from top-to-bottom, and then they're moved to the bottom when they're eliminated. This is how the tables work. First eliminated ---> bottom, second eliminated ---> second bottom, third eliminated ---> third bottom, etc. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 01:48, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
According to what? A table can't be in more than one order. That would be no order at all. It either goes by the name column (alphabetically) or the episodes (chronologically), but since the episode section is chronological, this table doesn't need to be. --and we could make it sortable.
