[edit]It's what I believe the entry's worth. The short entry has all the pertinent details of a minor issue. The big version is senstational and wallows in details for the sake of the fact this woman is a newspaper columnist and is very attractgive. Seems like cvheap voyeurism to me.

Old Skool Esperanzial note
[edit]Since this isn't the result of an AC meeting, I have decided to go Old Skool. This note is to remind you that the elections are taking place now and will end at 23:50 UTC on 2006-04-29. Please vote here. Thanks. --Celestianpower háblame 20:42, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

A short Esperanzial update
[edit]As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]FYI, I am going to de-list your Bombard Tower → Bombard tower move request. The steps for requesting a page move were not followed so no one else had a chance to see or vote on the request. Those steps put the article in a category and make a convenient place to vote. Feel free to re-list the request. —Wknight94 (talk) 02:10, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Googleearthdomination.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Googleearthdomination.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:08, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Expletive in 32nd G8 Summit Article
[edit]I understand that Wikipedia is not censored, but it still feels unnecessary. Everyone can tell what word it is by writing it with an asterisk; why not just write it like that and sound more formal and encyclopedic?

[edit]You made some edits with this summary. I don't think you understand what a double redirect is. Please read Wikipedia:Double redirect and Wikipedia:Redirect#Don't fix links to redirects that aren't broken. Thank you. --NE2 01:51, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Dear Serial comma User & Future Administrator
[edit]Thank you very much for informing me about the Spell checker Fox or Modzila? Anyway, I downloaded it - now all I need to know is what I have to do to use it in a Wikipedia page.
- Now I want to tell you that I enjoyed learning from your page about the "Serial comma."
- I've had a preference for it since H.S.- but never new what it was called.
- Now I will copy from your User page that Box about it and let everyone know that I also have a preference for it.
- Now tell me what is required for me to qualify for a Wikepedia francise - by which I mean the right to VOTE - because when elections come, I certainly wish to give me my vote to elect you to be an Administrator. Do I qualify? How "Democratic" is Wikipedia, anyway?
- Thanks a lot, and best wishes for you, future WP Administrator! Ludvikus 06:58, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

- I tried to "edit this page" (your page), so to speak, because I wanted to copy the "rectangles" which indicate "Bibliophile" and "Serial comma," etc. But you must have "locked" your User/Homepage ... because I couldn't find the code for these WP images, or whatever you call them. Can you advise me so that I too could improve the appearance of my Homepage??
- Also — it just occurred to me — why don't we place these "rectangles" in each page where concept is explained - that way we all could just "Copy" and "Past" them whenever we want to???
- Don't you think that is a good idea? Even, perhaps, a Revolutionary idea? It may be a way of spreading literacy more effectively - at least amoung us Wikipedians, no?

Comma & Period Before, or After, a Quotation Mark
[edit]Dear Mr. Split infinitive avoider,
- I thought you might know about - and be interested in - the rule which says that a Quotation mark comes after the Comma and Period, but before the Question mark and Exclamation point. Can you tell me anything about this rule, and where in Wikipedia, if anywhere, it is to be found? Thanks.
- In return, may I inform you of my interest in, and contribution towards the Octothorpe as well as the Ouroboros?
- Looking forward to your response, Ludvikus 07:30, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Ecce! Mene amas? Ego amat tu. Nos amant tuum baculum. Tuum Baculum est validus atque ingentem.
I notice you have this image on your user sub-page User:Jfingers88/Pictures. Unfortunately, due to a licensing issue it must be deleted from Wikipedia, so I've had to remove it. See Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Notre dame basillica delist for an explanation of the issue. I really hate having to do this, as this image was my favourite of all images I've seen on Wikipedia, but that's the way it has to be I'm afraid. Raven4x4x 11:30, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Removal of category from your userpage
[edit]Hi. In enacting consensus from User categories for discussion, I have removed the category Category:Wikipedians interested in books from your userpage. It was determined in that deletion debate that this category should be depopulated of individuals, but kept as a parent category. If you wish to display a category reflecting your interest in books, please consider one of the specific sub-categories under its umbrella. Thanks, and please excuse the necessary editing of your user page! ----Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:14, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Googleearthdomination.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Googleearthdomination.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Veggy (talk) 23:45, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Yibir Page
[edit]The current page on the yibir is entirley biased and is written by anti-semetic groups in Somaliland who prosecute the Yibrews or the Hebrews of Somaliland. These people are trying to keep silent the oppression the somali hebrew ( Jewish) community ) from the rest of the world. They do not want the world to know about the oppression of the jews in Somaliland. I am a phd researcher who is interested in the yibir subject, but as you can see these anti-semetic groups are editing whatever I have written, and they are malicously writing the wrong information about the yibir groups. Please do something about it. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rfarrah (talk • contribs) 05:40, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invitation to the African Destubathon
[edit]Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
