Hey again all :). So, some big news, some small news, some good news, some bad news!
On the "big news" front; we've now deployed AFT5 on to 10 percent of articles, This is pretty awesome :). On the "bad news", however, it looks like we're having to stop at 10 percent until around September - there are scaling issues that make it dangerous to deploy wider. Happily, our awesome features engineering team is looking into them as we speak, and I'm optimistic that the issues will be resolved.
For both "small" and "good" news; we've got another office hours session. This one is tomorrow, at 22:00 UTC in #wikimedia-officeconnect - I appreciate it's a bit late for Europeans, but I wanted to juggle it so US east coasters could attend if they wanted :). Hope to see you all there!— Preceding unsigned comment added by Okeyes (WMF) (talk • contribs)
In the WWE pay per view section. Those are the names of arenas. You did a mistake.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Harryjunior1000 (talk • contribs)
I have not done a mistake all additions need reliable sources to back up the information added. You and others before you have not provide a single source to back up the additions of arenas. Till a source is added along with the information, I and others will continue to remove the information added.--Dcheagle • talk • contribs02:17, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
First of all the building in Rosemont, Illinois is called the Allstate Arena
The arena in Philadelphia is called the Wells Fargo Center
The arena in Los Angeles where Summerslam has taken place and will take place is called the Staples Center
The arena in Detroit is called the Joe Louis Arena
The arena in Buffalo is called the First Niagara Center
The arena in Miami is called the American Airlines Arena
I live in Boston and the Survivor Series will at the TD Garden
And in Houston the arena is called the Toyota Center
What more reliable do you want? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Harryjunior1000 (talk • contribs) 19:09, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
A source that comes from a reliable news organization. And please stop posting any where else this is my talk page if you need to ask me something it goes here not else where.--Dcheagle • talk • contribs20:35, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
Insulting me does nothing for you. As it stands the Information that you and another user have added does not have a source to back it up which is required here. Just because you live in Boston doesn't mean a thing to me. The city's that the events are set to take place in has a source the Venues do not. Provide one and the info can stay in.--Dcheagle • talk • contribs20:59, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
Okay I understand what you are reliable sources. But, I would never give false information to this site. And I wouldn't lie to you or this site.Harryjunior1000 (talk) 21:34, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
See now your running into Original Research. Just because you say the info's true doesn't mean it is this is why we need a reliable source to back up the information. If you can find a source that states the info you want to added that is reliable Secondary source then by all mean added the info but till you have a source the info stays out.--Dcheagle • talk • contribs21:46, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
I have tried every wrestling web site and all they mention is the city where the PPV is. Why they don't put the venue is hard to believe. The only person who give us what we are looking for is Mr.McMahon himself, but he wouldn't give us the time of day.Harryjunior1000 (talk) 22:00, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
Ok then till a source can be found the information stays out.--Dcheagle • talk • contribs 22:02, 14 February 2013 (UTC)Still nothing on sources regarding WWE PPV venues. To be honest with you, more excited about Wrestlemania, and a Rock vs Cena rematch for WWE Championship.Harryjunior1000 (talk) 20:34, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
WrestleMania 30
You undid my edit on "WrestleMania 30" to avoid a faulty double-redirect. Any reason? You left no description. If you search for WrestleMania 30, it should a redirect page for WrestleMania XXX, which is a faulty way of showing the page. Srsrox (talk) 02:35, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
New Article Feedback version available for testing
Hey all.
As promised, we've built a set of improvements to the Article Feedback Tool, which can be tested through the links here. Please do take the opportunity to play around with it, let me know of any bugs, and see what you think :).
A final reminder that the Request for Comment on whether AFT5 should be turned on on Wikipedia (and how) is soon to close; for those of you who have not submitted an opinion or !voted, it can be found here.

The 2010 Emory Healthcare 500 was a NASCARSprint Cup Seriesstock car race that was held on September 5, 2010 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. Contested over 325 laps, it was the twenty-fifth race of the 2010 Sprint Cup Series season. The race was won by Tony Stewart, for the Stewart Haas Racing team. Carl Edwards finished second, and Jimmie Johnson, who started seventh, clinched third. Pole position driver Denny Hamlin maintained his lead on the first lap to begin the race, as Ryan Newman, who started in the second position remained behind him. Afterward, Newman became the leader. On lap 128, Hamlin had an engine failure, finishing forty-third. Later in the race Tony Stewart led a race high of seventy-five laps. Stewart retained the first position on a final restart to clinch his third win at Atlanta Motor Speedway. There were eight cautions and twenty-seven lead changes among nine different drivers throughout the course of the race. It was Tony Stewart's first win of the season and the thirty-eighth of his career. The result moved him up two spots to fourth in the Drivers' Championship, 283 points behind of leader Kevin Harvick and fourteen ahead of Carl Edwards. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, thirty-two ahead of Toyota and sixty-six ahead of Ford, with eleven races remaining in the season. A total of 93,200 people attended the race, while 5.516 million watched it on television. (Read more...)
Round 1 is now over. The top 64 scorers have progressed to round 2, where they have been randomly split into eight pools of eight. At the end of April, the top two from each pool, as well as the 16 highest scorers from those remaining, will progress to round 3. Commiserations to those eliminated; if you're interested in still being involved in the WikiCup, able and willing reviewers will always be needed, and if you're interested in getting involved with other collaborative projects, take a look at the WikiWomen's Month discussed below.
Round 1 saw 21 competitors with over 100 points, which is fantastic; that suggests that this year's competition is going to be highly competative. Our lower scores indicate this, too: A score of 19 was required to reach round 2, which was significantly higher than the 11 points required in 2012 and 8 points required in 2011. The score needed to reach round 3 will be higher, and may depend on pool groupings. In 2011, 41 points secured a round 3 place, while in 2012, 65 was needed. Our top three scorers in round 1 were:
Miyagawa (submissions), primarily for an array of did you knows and good articles, some of which were awarded bonus points.
Casliber (submissions), due in no small part to Canis Minor, a featured article awarded a total of 340 points. A joint submission with Keilana (submissions), this is the highest scoring single article yet submitted in this year's competition.
Other contributors of note include:
Sven Manguard (submissions), whose Portal:Massachusetts is the first featured portal this year. The featured portal process is one of the less well-known featured processes, and featured portals have traditionally had little impact on WikiCup scores.
Featured topics have still played no part in this year's competition, but once again, a curious contribution has been offered by The C of E (submissions): did you know that there is a Shit Brook in Shropshire? With April Fools' Day during the next round, there will probably be a good chance of more unusual articles...
March sees the WikiWomen's History Month, a series of collaborative efforts to aid the women's history WikiProject to coincide with Women's History Month and International Women's Day. A number of WikiCup participants have already started to take part. The project has a to-do list of articles needing work on the topic of women's history. Those interested in helping out with the project can find articles in need of attention there, or, alternatively, add articles to the list. Those interested in collaborating on articles on women's history are also welcome to use the WikiCup talk page to find others willing to lend a helping hand. Another collaboration currently running is an an effort from WikiCup participants to coordinate a number of Easter-themed did you know articles. Contributions are welcome!
A few final administrative issues. From now on, submission pages will need only a link to the article and a link to the nomination page, or, in the case of good article reviews, a link to the review only. See your submissions' page for details. This will hopefully make updating submission pages a little less tedious. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Hey Dcheagle; I'm dropping you this note because you've used the article feedback tool in the last month or so. Construction of the track, on the site of the former Kaiser Steel Mill, began in 1995 and was completed in late 1996. The speedway has a grandstand capacity of 91,200 and 28 skyboxes. In 2006, a fanzone was added behind the main grandstand. Lights were added to the speedway in 2004 with the addition of a second annual NASCAR weekend. In 2011 and 2012 the track hosted only one NASCAR weekend. The IZOD Indycar Series returned to the track in 2012 with the season finale race (a 500 mile night race); it ran a 400 mile race from 2002–05 at the track. (Read more...)

I have been adding public domain photos of Oklahoma legislators to those articles. On a few of them, with thumbnail photos, which is necessary due to the size of the photo, they are not centered in the infobox. Is there a way to correct this? Okheric (talk) 20:35, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
Fixing issue by replacing photo on Wikimedia Commons with smaller version. The size of the photo was at least a part of the problem. Okheric (talk) 23:38, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
Ok the issue you were having is easy to fix when you put a photo in instead of this code [[File:example.jpg|thumb]] Use this one [[File:example.jpg|200px]]. When you add an image to the infobox you don't want to add it as thumbnail image cause if you do you get the image with the box around the image like the top photo , But if you use the second code your image looks like the bottom image and will align centered in the infobox and if you need to adjust the size just change 200px by adding or lower the number. Hope that helps.
Tried to add a photo to T.W. Shannon and it is not formatting corretctly , could you take a look
Hey Jeffrey R. Clark :). I'm dropping you a note because you have signed up for the Notifications, or Echo, newsletter.
If all goes according to plan, we should be launching Echo on en-wiki either tomorrow, or next Tuesday - I'll drop a followup tomorrow when we know what's happening. Should the launch succeed, we'll begin the process of triaging bugs and gathering feedback on what features work, what cause problems, and what we should do next; I hope you'll help us out on these fronts by leaving any comments you might have on the talkpage.

Pole position driver Kyle Busch maintained the lead after the start of the race. Kyle Busch would eventually lead to the race high of 226 laps. Afterward, Gordon became the leader during the final laps. He remained the leader until Kyle Busch passed him with four laps remaining. Kyle Busch crossed the finish line first to clinch his first win of the season, and his third at Richmond International Raceway.
There were six caution flags and twelve lead changes among eight different drivers throughout the course of the race. The result moved Kyle Busch up two spots to third in the Drivers' Championship, 109 points behind of leader Kevin Harvick and ten ahead of Matt Kenseth. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, eighteen points points ahead of Toyota and thirty ahead of Ford, with twenty-six races remaining in the season. (Read more...)
Hey Dcheagle; Kaldari has finished scripting a set of potential replacements available to test and give feedback on. Please go to this thread for more detail on how to enable them. Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 15:24, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
I want to start getting some articles assessed at A or GA or FA and could use some help going about it.
I see that the A just takes kind of a group assessment from the WPOK group and want to start there.
How should I go about getting the project's members to assess it. The article I would like to start with is:
Oklahoma House of Representatives.
Okheric (talk) 15:11, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
For an A-class assessment just leave a request at here and I will go about finding some other users besides my self to review the article there isnt to many active users besieds myself but I do know a few users who I think would be wiling to help out on a A-class review, as for GA and FA take a look here and here for GA and FA requirements. The No. 90 Heilig Meyers Dick TrickleNASCAR Winston Cup car being worked on in the pits at Road America. The car had a different owner and was being used in a Formula Libre type event featuring Mid American Stock Cars. Trickle raced in this car somewhere between 1996 and 1998.
Richard "Dick" Trickle (October 27, 1941 – May 16, 2013) was an American race car driver. He raced for decades around the short tracks of Wisconsin, winning many championships along the way. Trickle competed in the ASA, ARTGO, ARCA, All Pro, IMCA, NASCAR, and USAC. In more than an estimated 2,200 races, Trickle logged one million laps and is believed to have won over 1,200 feature races. He was billed as the winningest short track driver in history. Trickle's career highlights include racing to 67 wins in 1972, winning seven ARTGO Championships in nine years between 1979 to 1987, winning back to back ASA AC-Delco Challenge championships in 1984 and 1985, the 1968 USAC Stock Car rookie of the year, and winning the 1989 NASCAR Rookie of the Year award in what was then called the Winston Cup (now Sprint Cup). Trickle was nicknamed the "White Knight" as referenced by his sponsored SuperAmerica paint scheme, when he raced in Wisconsin. (Read more...)

Conditions were sunny at the start of the race, making the track potentially slippery. Pole position driver Kasey Kahne maintained his lead into the first corner, but Johnson, who had started in the second position on the grid, took the lead before the first lap was over. Kahne suffered an ill-handling car during the beginning of the race, causing him to fall to seventh by the sixth lap. Seven laps before the finish, race leader Marcos Ambrose, turned his car off to try to save fuel, but he could not refire the engine and subsequently stalled. He dropped back from the lead to sixth place with seven laps remaining, allowing Kahne to finish fourth and Jeff Gordon fifth.
There were eight cautions and twelve lead changes among eight different drivers throughout the course of the race, Johnson's fourth win of the season and his first ever at Infineon. The result moved him up four spots to second in the Drivers' Championship, 140 points behind of leader Kevin Harvick and one ahead of Kyle Busch. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, nine points ahead of Toyota and forty-three ahead of Dodge, with twenty races remaining in the season. (Read more...)

Tim Richmond (June 7, 1955 - August 13, 1989) was an Americanrace car driver from Ashland, Ohio. He competed in IndyCar racing before transferring to NASCAR's Winston Cup Series (now Sprint Cup Series). Richmond was the first driver to change from open wheel racing to NASCAR stock cars, which has since become an industry trend. He won the 1980 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year award and had 13 victories during eight NASCAR seasons.
Richmond achieved his top NASCAR season in 1986 when he finished third in points. He won seven races that season, more than any other driver on the tour. When he missed the season-opening Daytona 500 in February 1987, media reported that he had pneumonia. The infection most likely resulted from his compromised immune system, which had been weakened by AIDS. The disease would drastically shorten his life. Despite the state of his health, Richmond competed in eight races in 1987, winning two events and one pole position before his final race in August of that year. He attempted a comeback in 1988 before NASCAR banned him for testing positive for a banned substance.
Richmond grew up in a wealthy family and lived a debauched lifestyle, earning him the nickname "Hollywood". In describing Richmond's influence in the sport of racing, Lowe's Motor Speedway president Humpy Wheeler said: "We've never had a race driver like Tim in stock car racing. He was almost a James Dean-like character." When Richmond was cast for a bit part in the 1983 movie Stroker Ace, "He fell right in with the group working on the film," said director Hal Needham. Cole Trickle, the main character in the movie Days of Thunder, played by Tom Cruise, was loosely based on Richmond and his interaction with Harry Hyde and Rick Hendrick. (Read more...)

Ok, we started this back and forth editing thing a few months ago, and we ended it when you said that I couldn't have the Draft table on 2006 Oklahoma Sooners football team because it wasn't sourced. Well, I sourced it, put the information that I deleted from the other section, and you still won't accept it. I don't understand. Every single Oklahoma Sooners season article from 1999-2012 has an NFL Draft table, as does all of the Texas Longhorns season articles, yet you've decided that the one on the OU 2006 article shouldn't be there. I'm a fan of consistency, and a fan of stuff that makes sense, and what you're doing is against both of those. Please. I've sourced it, I've included the information, and I've made it consistent with the other 20 or so articles, so can you please just stop deleting it? Kobra98 (talk) 20:03, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
I believe its better to write the info in prose text it allows us to go more in depth then a table does as for the other pages I'm in the process of converting the tables to text so in the end everything will look the same and in the long run be better for getting these articles to GA Class and FA Class which is the end goal in my book. Give me some time to finish writing up the one for the 2012 season and you'll see what I'm trying to do.--Dcheagle • talk • contribs20:46, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
I don't understand how in depth you need to go. The only information needed is the player, the position, the round, the pick, and the team, and the table does all of that. Also, the table is much easier and faster to read, and I see no reason to change something that's been used for years and has worked fine. Kobra98 (talk) 21:41, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

If you think it is not ready for the nomination you might speak to him about it. I have gotten him to expand the lead a bit more. Okheric (talk) 02:42, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads up I don't know how I missed Bruin2's request, as for the article it still needs work but I have stated a discussion with Bruin2 on his talk page and if the issues are fixed it will make a really good GA nomination.--Dcheagle • talk • contribs04:46, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
I would appreciate your posting your list of issues, so this article can move forward. Thanks for your review. (talk) 15:53, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

I am noticing a lot of stubs in our project that our highly likely to never grow further, such as Brenda Reneau. I'm not very familiar with article deletions. It seems like it is difficult to get people to weigh in to help complete the process. I thought we might work together to get a few of these deleted, starting with the above-mentioned article. Okheric (talk) 15:48, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
Ok Well the first thing that needs to be done is we need to go over the list of stubs and see if any of them meet the Notability guidelines and if there is any chance that the could be expanded. If not then we can start the process getting these stubs deleted.--Dcheagle • talk • contribs20:22, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
Hi Okheric,
I concur with both you and Dcheagle about going over the list of WP:Oklahoma stubs, and would like to help.. The example you cite certainly doesn't address the notability requirement very well. In such cases, I would post on the article talk page that it is being considered for deletion. This would be a heads up to the original author or anyone else that is really interested in the subject to add more relevant information. After a short period, say two weeks, then proceed with deletion process. Sometimes people start an article then get sidetracked on something else.
I have been pursuing stubs about several topics in WP:Oklahoma, especially counties, cities, and some general topics for this very reason. Usually I avoid the people articles unless I happen to know something about the subject, or it fits with another topic that I have worked on. Not a very scientific process, but hopefully will help get us to the same end point. Bruin2 (talk) 01:14, 15 October 2013 (UTC)
I cited the Notability guidelines as a base line for determining what can stay and be expanded and what just needs to be deleted because if its not notable and doesn't meet the baseline requirements then there's no need to try to keep and expand it in the first place.
Is there a particular tag used to cite its being considered for deletion? Brenda Reneau is no longer in office and I don't think it is likely much more will be written about her. Labor Commissioner in Oklahoma is like a stepping stone job. Either the individual goes onto something else from that office or they disappear into obscurity. There are a lot of these pages that have been started by officials and have gone nowhere since their initial writing. I looked at expanding them initially but there really wasn't much out there. Okheric (talk) 13:46, 15 October 2013 (UTC)
That would be a start in the process, place the tag's then wait two weeks then if no one steps in to expanded it or contest the tag then we mark it for deletion. Before we start to do this we need to come up with some guidelines to follow while we do this Ill try to come up with some starting out then we can tweek them if we need to.
I am removing some notability tags. Someone stepped in and contested notability challenges to Brenda Reneau, noting that statewide elected officials qualify for notability, even if not much information is available. He also challenged notability challenges to some of the athlete and Division 1 head coach categories. So far this is the only feedback I have received. Okheric (talk) 15:03, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
I was also able to expand Brenda Reneau. I did a Newsok.com search for her and found some stories. The article is still a stub, but at least not so pathetically tiny. I also added an infobox. Okheric (talk) 18:22, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
After looking over the stubs, most if not all just need to be expanded. I think only a hand full will need to be deleted. So its just a matter of slowly expanding these stubs. I'm also getting ready to start a simi-automated process of going thru all the stubs to see if any just need to have there assessment changed.--Dcheagle • talk • contribs19:38, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
Removed notability tag on Mareta West and expanded article. I also removed the notability tag for an OU head coach, though the article was scarce. About 5 articles remain tagged. Okheric (talk) 19:53, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
