Answer

[edit]

Well, yes I live in Paris. My mother tongue is French and I can more or less speak in English. That's all when it goes about the language I speak. What about you ? Metropolitan 01:27, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your answer, even if I'm not sure what I should think about it because of the april fool ! ;-)
About the nomination as featured list of the tallest structures in Paris article, do you know if I'm allowed to support it ? If I ask the question, it's probably because my opinion can be considered as biased. Metropolitan 01:30, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Quick subsidiary question. While checking recent edits in History, when I click on "diff" or "hist", a pop-up appears to ask me to download some php stuff... however, the downloaded stuff can't be read by my puter. It's only once logged out that those pages appear on my browser. That's rather annoying since I have always to log out in order to check edits. Do you know if there's any way to solve the issue ? CT highway shields

[edit]

I created stubs for several more CT state highway articles (see List of State Routes in Connecticut. Do you happen to have the highway shields for articles without them? If not, would it be easy to create them? Thanks. Polaron 14:14, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot. I'll let you know once there is another bunch of new state highway articles created. Do you happen to have the official specs for these highway shields? Polaron 20:24, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jared! While reverting a newbie test on this page, I noticed the last paragraph of Olympic_Games#Olympic_champions_and_medalists. It first caught my eye because it gave a rhetorical question to the reader, but after looking at it for a while, I think it needs to be cleaned up or rewritten completely. However, I wanted to get a second editor's opinion, and figured sending you a direct message would get faster results than posting on that article's talk page. Any thoughts/attempts at rewriting? (Don't worry about my input- if you think of something good to put there, be bold and do it. :o) ) EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 05:42, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your response. I realize you may be on break already, but I've taken a crack at cleaning up/reorganizing the end of that section, and I'd love to hear your input. Thanks again, and have a good Wikibreak. EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 17:02, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

[edit]
I, EWS23, hereby award JP06035 the Tireless Contributor Barnstar for his countless and valuable contributions to Olympic Games related pages. Keep up the good work! 01:46, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi Jared! I wanted to commend you for all your work on Olympics pages. You've done quite a bit of work, and from what I've seen, you certainly haven't sacrificed quality to do it. Because of that, I award you this barnstar! Feel free to copy/move it to your userpage to show it off- you've earned it. Thanks for all your edits, and keep up all the good work. EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 01:46, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your barnstar response and birthday wishes. :o) By the way, have you gotten a chance to take a peek at the rewrite I did for that Olympic Games paragraph above? EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 19:59, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good. The additional links are nice for the reader. The only thing I changed [1] was to add a piped link to List of IOC country codes, since the casual reader might not know what an "IOC code" is. Thanks again for all your help, and keep up the good work. EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 20:16, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Friendles All.jpg

[edit]

Hi Jared. Your claim to ownership of the copyright to Image:Friendlies All.jpg is questionable, at best. I have asked about such a claim at Wikipedia talk:Copyright problems#Combination of images; the response indicates that the claim is invalid. I have thus marked the image as {{Nld}}. Please see the Wikipedia talk:Copyright problems#Combination of images page if you feel strongly that the image is needed. -- Jonel | Speak 19:26, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Penn's Landing

[edit]

Could you please provide a caption for the Penn's Landing pic that you uploaded? I believe those are the Society Hill towers in the background, but I'd like to confirm it first. Any other photos you might have are appreciated: perhaps one farther north, with more of the ships? --Pastricide! Non-absorbing 22:35, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Green Monster

I moved Green Monster per your request on WP:RM. Hope this helps, UkPaolo/talk 21:25, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Voting icons.

[edit]

Hi Jared. On March 23rd, you put a notice on the template "voting icons" saying that they are controversial. Could you please refer me to where that discussion took place? I think it should be mentioned on the template talk page. -Joshuapaquin 01:00, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, thank you. -Joshuapaquin 19:29, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your monobook.js

[edit]

I randomly happened across your note in User_talk:Danny#Asking a favor... and just thought I'd mention that you may need to clear your cache for your monobook.js changes to work properly. Simply shift-click on the refresh button (works in mozilla at least), and that might fix your problem. Shift clicking also seems to fix the problem where links spontaneously become underlined... but that's another story. If the problem you're having is completely unrelated, then don't mind me. Cowman109Talk 02:37, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your response to my question. Yes, I tried shift-clicking, but that doesn't seem to work. It works every other time, though. The reason I can tell there is something screwy going on is that those two initial slashes are not in the <pre> box, and the following message is not included like it is on the rest of the monobooks:
Note: After saving, you have to bypass your browser's cache to see the changes. Mozilla/Safari/Konqueror: hold down Shift while clicking Reload (or press Ctrl-Shift-R), IE: press Ctrl-F5, Opera: press F5.
Thanks for your thoughts, though! J@red10:58, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
