Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Maps
[edit]Finally someone with a common sense that replaced that zoomed-out map. Thank you. Can you do the same on Valencian Community? Peter238 (talk) 17:48, 8 February 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Peter238, thank you very much for the interest on the recent change of the map of the nationality of Catalonia, but I want to make few tiny explanations, in order to explain my position about this :) . Basically, I'm totally in favour of the green map that started this war a few weeks ago. The reason is simple: better context. I'm agree that the majority of sub-State entities had the focus on its respective countries, but at the same time it's not necessary use this system. The recent events in Catalonia focused the attention on this page, but the foreigners had (in general) just few ideas and information about not just Catalonia, but Spain. An European map is useful if you want to understand this context.
- I don't understand the agressive editions of Spanish nationalist (and many not-Spaniard neutrals) users when the map shows Catalonia as a part of Spain, and even when other sub-State entities as Scotland or Flanders have an European country style maps, and nobody turns crazy or histerical about that. Why this privilege for some "regions"? But, after all I decided to restore the original map (or a better version of the same) because this war puts in danger the rest of the article (and even the others abou Catalonia) and many people is confused. And, of course, the war degenerates into a ridiculous show. So, in order to restore the normal job of the editions, I restore the current map (considerating that the other autonomous communities has the same) but I insist, I think the green map is better and it's not problematic for any person.
- About the map of the Valencian Country... well, the green Valencian map it's not my creation and I never put this map in their infobox (in fact, I think that I never edited the Valencian page, hehehe). If it's possible, I prefer that other person going to talk with the user/s and convince him, but not me. I don't want a discussion with the Valencian friends. I'm sure that you can understand me. ;) If you need help with other issues, please, no doubt to said me something! :D
- Greetings! --Jacobí (talk) 18:44, 8 February 2016 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks for answering. Peter238 (talk) 07:47, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

[edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Catalonia. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Elizium23 (talk) 00:55, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
Vandalisme
Si estàs en guerra contra nosaltres mai no podràs gaudir d'eixe coneixement i potser tu i Espanya acabareu perdent-nos, de la mateixa manera que vàreu perdre els portuguesos i les colònies d'ultramar ; ) — Jɑuмe (dis-me) 15:55, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
Moltes gràcies i salut, company! :) Jacobí (talk) 16:14, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from History of Catalonia into Lluís Companys. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 16:59, 21 September 2019 (UTC)

Verifiability, and sources in English Wikipedia
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Catalonia, and numerous topics related to it, both here on English Wikipedia, as well as your contributions to other Wikipedias of Wikipedia. Based on some of your contributions, it appears to me that you're a native Catalan speaker, which is good news for me because I also contribute to articles about Catalan topics or translate them from Catalan Wikipedia (e.g., 1, 2, 3), and I sometimes need help with tricky or unclear phrasing in the original, especially in medieval sources.
I noticed that portions of this edit at Catalonia added assertions about the result of tensions under John II, without including a WP:Source to back it up. If you're used to editing any of the other language Wikipedias, they each have their own policies for content and may enforce them differently, but at here at en-wiki, our policies and guidelines emphasize the fact that all content must be WP:Verifiable. The best way to do this, is by the addition of citations to reliable sources. (Catalan Verifiability policy is actually quite strong, and similar to that of en-wiki.) Going forward, when adding content to articles at en-wiki, please keep in mind the verifiability requirement; there are a whole set of citation templates you can use, including {{cite book}}, {{cite journal}}, {{cite web}}, and others. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 23:08, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
Improving Wikipedia's coverage of Catalan topics
[edit]If you're looking for ways to improve English Wikipedia's coverage of Catalan topics, here are some ways to do it:
- find articles that need improvement in English Wikipedia that were originally translated from Catalan:
- try this list of 244 articles translated from Catalan.
- these articles have the template {{Rough translation}} on them, and need attention for poor translation from Catalan.
- You probably already know about WP:Categories; try articles in:
- Category:Catalonia stubs – these short articles need expansion
- Category:Catalonia – a much larger category with articles which may need work
- Category:Catalan society
- see this list containing many more categories categories about Catalan topics (not all are article categories)
- find articles in Catalan Wikipedia that that do not exist yet in English Wikipedia, and need to be translated:
- Here are 70 "articles de qualitat" from ca-wiki that do not exist in English (not necessarily all about Catalan topics; for example, Arquitectura paleocristiana and Literatura fenício-púnica are not, but all of them are high-quality and worth translating).
- In category "Catalonia", there are another 100,000 articles in ca-wiki but not in en-wiki; here are the first 100 articles and here is page 940 listing more (that should keep you busy!)
Good luck, and good to know you're contributing to articles on this topic, to improve English Wikipedia's coverage of Catalan topics. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 23:13, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Jacobí! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Technopat (talk) 23:55, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
