Franz Joseph II was already on the OG list but thanks regardless i have thankfully corrected the mistakes and made the list better (: and i also changed the mind on Aurangzeb and consider most Indian states before 1712 to be fully sovereign in their Own Reign Yourlocallordandsavior I was also able to make a top 100 Jackal Himorse 💬

I feel like there are some strange insertions, including Tonga, Tahiti, Burundi, and Anjou, and Sao King Muang and Lone Horn (both have no exact dates on Wikipedia). Also, why do you give the UAE rulers a spot? Aren't they dependencies? Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 23:08, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
New: Al-Mustansir Billah:

Fatimid Caliphate June 13, 1036 (15th Shaban, 427 AH) January 6, 1095 (18th Zilhaja, 487 AH) (approx dates, don't know how to fully convert from Muslim calendar) 21,391 58 years, 207 days, Theodosius II 48 years, 198 days, John V Palaiologos 46 years, 300 days, and Bagrat IV of Georgia 45 years, 98 days Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 00:40, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I excluded Lone Horn and replaced him with Abdullah I Al-Sabah of Kuwai

UAE wasn’t a united state until 1971 The Sao guy was only a approximate date I found from websites like Worldstatesman.org and ETc I thought Burundi was a sovereign state?

If a Burgundian monarch is there so I think Anjou should have as well,IMO i consider most French states until like 1100 to be sovereign in their own reign

Tonga appears to be a fully sovereign state from what i could find meanwhile Tahiti was apparently a French Protectorate so the Franks guy is currently 50th unless more consensus is given Anyways I am gonna add those rulers you said Anyways I’m working on an similar list on Indonesian Wikipedia (I used Google translate so some names may not be 100% accurate) so some help would be appericated. http://id.wiki.x.io/wiki/Daftar_penguasa_monarki_saat_ini_yang_menjabat_terlama I also found the start date for Muhammad Jiwa Zainal Adilin II of Kedah his father’s article says that he died on 15 Febuarary [[[User:Jackal Himorse|Jackal Himorse]] (talk) 03:37, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if Anjou was ever independent (judging from what you said about the Franks guy). The Burundi guy's wiki page says that most of his reign coincided with a Belgian protectorate. Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 21:24, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oops

[edit]

In restoring a longstanding version of List of longest-reigning monarchs, I may have wiped out an edit of yours. GoodDay (talk) 19:35, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Actually the "Holy Roman Empire" edit i made still stands but it's fine Jackal Himorse (talk) 04:57, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can you add the Kedah 1778 guy to that list?

[edit]

Appreciate the recent edits you did on the longest-reigning list. I noticed that I have this Kedah 1778 guy in my notes who should be up there. There's quite a few generations of Kedah rulers who ruled for 50-60 years that should arguably be on there too from 1500-1800 that you might want to also consider. Thanks Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 00:15, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yourlocallordandsavior If you're talking about Muhammad II he is already on the Third Table but i add him now Addionally while i now excluded Queen Pomare (Or Something) of Tahiti,The Burundi Guy and the Tahiti Queen (As Tahiti was a British Protectorate from 1901 to like 1971) and now are replaced by the following

Ibrahim Shah of Kedah 52 Years and 79 Years

Ibn Saud/Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud of Hejaz and Nejd (1902 – 1932) and then Saudi Arabic (1932 – 1953) 51 Years and 300 Days

(Although he did change his State he still reigned in Arabia so i think He Meets The Criteria)

Heinrich XIV, Prince Reuss Younger Line 45 Years and 263 Days (His Reign started little over a Year after the German Confederation Ended and died the year before WW1 so I Think He too Meets the Criteria)

Ibrahim Adil Shah II of Bijapur Sultanate 48 Years and 26 Days Jackal Himorse (talk) 03:53, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How many guys you got over 45 years so far that were independent? I've apparently got 98. Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 22:53, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I actually got up to 40

"Its"

[edit]

Hi. I just wanted to mention that I reverted your edits to the Andorra article because the possessive "its" does not, in fact, have an apostrophe. "It's" has an apostrophe only when it's a contraction of "it is" or "it has". Largoplazo (talk) 21:17, 7 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know of any website databases pertaining to "Longest reigning monarchs"?

[edit]

Google has been pretty hard to search on lately, I was wondering if you use any sites outside of Wikipedia in order to find these monarchs? Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 22:27, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yourlocallordandsavior I mostly find them through older Versions of the Article, To see Monarchs who were removed for little to no reason and Verify their Articles to add them in.

Other sources are Worldstatesman and Indianrajputs (Though the former is Unreliable but does offer more Monarchs then the Latter) and at times through Comments on YouTube Videos releated to the Longest Reigning Monarchs and VIA checking Languages on Wikipedia Reign Articles.

Generally I try to find ones on Indian, HRE or African rulers as they are the Most common ones to have Long Reigns. Jackal Himorse (talk) 13:46, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What's VIA checking? Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 08:12, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yourlocallordandsavior It means "from/by checking" Jackal Himorse (talk) 10:15, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can you help find sources for Muhammad Jiwa Zainal Adilin II?

[edit]

Might be a bit of an ask, but can you help me find sources that back up the dates of rule for this guy Muhammad Jiwa Zainal Adilin II? The only thing I can find is the Light Letters (which is not digitalized and is not therefore accessible for me). Would really appreciate it. At least whenever you have the chance to do so. Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 05:26, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Found some sources https://www.thepatriots.asia/raja-raja-melayu-paling-lama-memerintah-dalam-sejarah/ which then brought me to this http://www.royalark.net/Malaysia/kedah3.htm, though it might not be good enough. Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 00:31, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Found source conflicts for his reign. Some sources say 1710, this Oxford book says his reign began in 1723, so its possibly a no go for this guy for list #1. Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 00:52, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Quick tip, definitely try to use Google Books/Google Scholar and type in the name or thing you're searching for, i.e. academic authors. Google's search engine is very crappy, though it's not as bad as the Youtube search engine. Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 07:29, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You know who's Idris of Tampin and Darma Raja of Kedah?

[edit]

You stated that in the edit history for Muhammad Jiwa Zainal and I can't seem to find a Wiki for those two people. Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 07:15, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yourlocallordandsavior Neither have one but for Idris he was apparently in the List as early as 2015 and as for Darma Raja His source is The Kedah Sultanate page of the Hindu rulers section

There is a monarch with a 180 year reign but it way to hard to believe and i think about 5–8 rulers with the Guy's name took the Throne

Jackal Himorse (talk) 09:29, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Any new discoveries (at least in the top 50?) for longest-reigning monarchs?

[edit]

Hey, you found any new discoveries these past few months? Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 23:34, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Who did you replace at number 25?

[edit]

Shouldn't there be 26 if you readded the Kedah guy back? Also, it's a dedicated academic book from Oxford about the history of Kedah. It might be from 1971 but I take that source more seriously than the others. Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 05:08, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yourlocallordandsavior I was busy at work but yes Also in some monarchies the regencies end at the monarch's early 20s or Earlish Mid 20s Hence i think 1723 was she his Regency ended Jackal Himorse (talk) 08:48, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Who was the guy you replaced then? Or was it a number mistake from before? Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 09:11, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tank you very much by the references Historygeographyknowledge (talk) 20:43, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No Problem S302921 (talk) 21:44, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Do you know of any other monarchs that could make the list? Historygeographyknowledge (talk) 09:36, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
could Fulk III, Count of Anjou count because we already counted A ruler of Burgundy. Also i couldn't find a source for Abdullah I of Kuwait's start date even on the Rulers of Kuwait so should we remove him like what happened to Muhammad II of Kedah some time ago Then. S302921 (talk) 12:47, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wasn't Anjou a prerogative of East Francia?
Was it only for Abdulah I that this occurred?
What about William the Conqueror? Does his 52-year reign in Normandy count or was he a vassal of the French Crown? Historygeographyknowledge (talk) 18:25, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure have to research, no this also happened with Muhammad II of Kedah (he got moved to the third list) and I'll look into the latter. S302921 (talk) 19:59, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So is it better to remove Abdulah I or did you find any reliable source about it? Add Fulk III and William the Conqueror? Historygeographyknowledge (talk) 12:38, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Probably. Also Jogaila's page states he first rules between some time in May 1377 and August 1381 and again from some time in August 1382 towards 1 June 1434. This would give a reign of about 55 Years (no Exact date) so should be also be removed Then? S302921 (talk) 12:14, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In addition the Duchy of Normandy page states it was a vassal of the French so William would have sovereignty years of about twenty years of this is indeed true. I think this is similar to Eleanor of Aquatine who was technically sovereign after 1154 through her husband Henry II becoming King of England. S302921 (talk) 12:16, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the delay. I'll leave Jogaila on the list. I'll just add "second reign" and a note about it, since this list counts contiguous reigns, without interruptions.Guilherme, just 20 years old, is left out. Historygeographyknowledge (talk) 15:10, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We still aren’t fully sure of his exact start dates in 1377 and 1382 so again i'm not sure if he would qualify for the first list. S302921 (talk) 19:26, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indenting

[edit]

Howdy. It's best not to indent your posts any further, right after your on previous post, per WP:INDENT. GoodDay (talk) 19:22, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No Problem. In the future I’ll try to be careful of this. S302921 (talk) 20:04, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In other words, this is good. GoodDay (talk) 19:22, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Where's this is not good. GoodDay (talk) 19:22, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of longest-reigning monarchs, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Manderscheid. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
