Information icon Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Kamala Khan (Marvel Cinematic Universe), please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Surviving a genocide is not a major part of this character's biography, as the Blip was not really a defining aspect of their story. Trailblazer101 (talk) 00:50, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Ms._Marvel According to this, the article here says In 2018, Khan survived the Snap. In 2020, she was awarded the Junior Aide Award for her work as a Girl Scout. This would qualify her as a fictional genocide survivor. JCWoodberry1234 (talk) 17:09, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe it's a WP:RADAR situation, but all your edits are reverted. Please read WP:CATDEF. All those games you listed as 'set in libraries' didn't mention a library once. They're not 'set' in a library at all. Maybe a library makes an appearance, but if it's not notable enough to get a mention, it definitely shouldn't be categorised as such. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 04:58, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. The release year of a film is not necessarily the year the film is set in. Set in year needs a separate sourced mention in the article to be added as a category. Also if the time a film is set in isn't mentioned in the film itself, it is WP:NOTDEFINING and thus not important to the story. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:58, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
https://beetlejuice.fandom.com/wiki/Beetlejuice_(character) According to this, Beetlejuice was summoned by Adam and Barbara in 1988, which is what happens in the film JCWoodberry1234 (talk) 17:07, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you give me some examples of reliable sources you would use, and what edits you would make? ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 21:22, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Some examples of reliable sources include:
  • Academic Journals:
  • Books: Scholarly books, particularly those published by well-known academic publishers.
  • Reputable News Outlets: Established media organizations
  • Government Websites: Official publications and reports
  • Professional Organizations and Institutions: Publications or reports from recognized institutions.
  • Specialized Websites: Websites that are focused on a specific area of expertise.
Edits I would make are when a certain piece of fiction is set in what year. JCWoodberry1234 (talk) 13:58, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm looking for specific edits and sources, not LLM generated explanations. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 14:04, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
a specific edit example of the edits I would like to make:
A movie/video game/book/etc has a category: fiction set in 2003, I would change it to movie/video game/book/etc set it 2003. If not, it would be: movie/video game/book/etc set in the 2000s JCWoodberry1234 (talk) 20:26, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What specific edit, based on what specific sources, please. -- asilvering (talk) 02:44, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I mean as if if a book on Wikipedia has the category: fiction set in 1993, I would add Novels set in the 1990s JCWoodberry1234 (talk) 16:59, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Both the admins have been asking for a specific edit. Not a theoretical "If I see X, I'll do Y" but an actual edit you would make right now. An actual specific edit is something that you could write on your talk page right now, and someone could go make the exact proposed edit in the specific article right now, and it would improve it. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 23:57, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Add to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Book): Novels set in the 1980s
Add to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book): Novels set in the 2010s JCWoodberry1234 (talk) 19:01, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, these would not be improvements. -- asilvering (talk) 19:16, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Page: Samaj Ko Badal Dalo
Edit to the Plot: The film opens with a courtroom scene where a woman stands trial for a heinous crime. She is prosecuted by a female public prosecutor, who recommends the death penalty. When the judge invites her to give a final statement, the woman reveals the motive behind her crime.
Chhaya, the only daughter of Satyanarayan, who owns a mill in partnership with Daulatram, is friends with Shyam, a fellow college student. Kundanlal serves as the company's private attorney. One day, Prakash, a young mill worker, and several labor union representatives approach Satyanarayan to request an advance bonus payment for Diwali. Satyanarayan forwards the request to his partner Daulatram, but Daulatram dismisses it, prioritizing profit over the workers' demands. This decision deeply troubles Satyanarayan.
A heated argument between them leads to the dissolution of their partnership. Feeling slighted, Daulatram deceives Satyanarayan, with the help of Kundanlal, and claims all of Satyanarayan's property and control of the mill. Satyanarayan, unable to bear the shock, dies of a heart attack, leaving Chhaya alone in the world.
Initially, Chhaya seeks shelter with Vimla, but is turned away as Kundanlal is her father. Shyam also rejects her request for shelter, asking her to forget their college friendship. Prakash, however, offers her shelter in his cottage, where he lives with his old, poor mother, Gomti. Though hesitant at first, Chhaya accepts, and Gomti welcomes her under such critical circumstances.
Puran and Churan, two roadside workers, are enlightened by Prakash and eventually, Puran joins the mill as a worker. Prakash and Chhaya continue to live happily in the cottage, gradually becoming parents to three children. Gomti takes care of the children.
One day, Daulatram brings a modern machine to the mill and announces the sacking of 400 workers out of 1,500, which Prakash opposes. During negotiations, Shyam, now the manager, slaps Prakash, but the matter is halted by police intervention. The workers, led by Prakash, decide to go on hunger strike and ultimately win government intervention to keep the mill running. However, Daulatram quickly obtains a Stay Order from the court. The striking workers begin to starve. When Daulatram finds the workers unmanageable at the mill gate, he calls the police for protection while simultaneously hiring goons to deal with Prakash. Prakash is attacked and killed by the goons on a dark evening in a narrow lane.
Chhaya, now desperate for work, fails to find any. Her situation worsens when Gomti is taken away by her brother Kalicharan, who confines her with the intention of claiming the cottage in the future. Meanwhile, Prakash and Chhaya’s children begin to suffer from hunger and resort to begging on the streets. When Chhaya learns of this, she tries to stop them, but they continue. Vendors cheat the children by trading food for goods whose value they don't understand. Later, a snack shop owner mistreats the children, accusing them of stealing snacks, and burns the hand of the elder girl with a hot rod.
The film then returns to the courtroom, where Chhaya is in the witness box, recounting the entire story and explaining her motive for committing the crime. She says that she has only known deceit throughout her life, and as she faces death, she takes poison and gives it to her children. However, the poison deceives her, and the children die in front of her eyes. None of the other villainous characters are present in the court.
After narrating her life story, Chhaya collapses in the witness box due to the poison and later dies in custody. Witnessing the injustice done to Chhaya, the public prosecutor Vimla, who has been closely following Chhaya’s entire life, becomes disgusted by the trial. She grows uncomfortable and restless, demanding the court to retry the case. She asserts that not just Chhaya, but all those involved in the case should be held accountable and punished. Vimla holds society responsible for such incidents and demands a change in its attitude. She ends her plea by shouting the slogan, which is the title of the film: Samaj Ko Badal Dalo.
