Reason?
Is there a reason why you insist on the figure 9,450,000 when the ref says 11,000,000? Moriori (talk) 03:45, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
- Where do you exactly see the reference saying that 25 sold 11 million? The source (from Billboard) clearly states that "25 has sold 9.45 million copies through March 15." Remember, don't confuse hard sales (9.45 mill) with what RIAA has certified (11 mill) which are for shipments. —IB [ Poke ] 03:47, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
GA Review?
Hi there. While I know there was some tension in the review I did for you, I thought it still might make sense to ask if you would be interested in doing a review of The Hate U Give. I am currently working on improving it and expect to be able to complete it in shape for nomination in the next week or so. In my ideal world this is able to hit the front page through DYK on October 19th which is the date the film comes out. If you're not interested for any number of reasons I would understand and will see if I can line up a reviewer elsewhere. Thanks for considering and Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 22:23, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
To my horror, it is a non-RS (despite listing artist info exactly as they appear on album covers, even showing scannings of the album covers). I've therefore decided to remove the link from the soundtrack section in Mullum Malarum, but what should be in the publisher field? The label (Columbia), the record company (EMI), or the phonographic copyright holders (The Gramophone Company of India)? Since you are experienced with making albums into GAs, I ask you this. --Kailash29792 (talk) 04:00, 6 September 2018 (UTC)

Would you consider becoming a New Page Reviewer?
Hi IndianBio, I've recently been looking for editors to invite to join the new page reviewing team, and after reviewing your editing history, I think you would be a good candidate. Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; the new page reviewing team needs help from experienced users like yourself. Would you please consider becoming a New Page Reviewer? Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, most pages are easy to review, and habits are quick to develop). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us. If you choose to apply, you can drop an application over at WP:PERM/NPR. If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message on my talk page or at the reviewer's discussion board. Cheers, and hope to see you around, — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 05:56, 11 September 2018 (UTC) |
The English Roses
Hello:
The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article The English Roses has been completed. The article is now actually "reasonably well written" as per GA criteria. This was not the case before the copy edit, in my opinion.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Asib
Hey, so why is the article named “A Star Is Born”? Shouldn’t it be renamed in that case ? ArturSik (talk) 10:59, 11 October 2018 (UTC)
- ArturSik, the disambiguation itself says A Star Is Born. —IB [ Poke ] 11:08, 11 October 2018 (UTC)
- well exactly so why ‘is’ with a lower case ‘i’ is correct? ArturSik (talk) 11:18, 11 October 2018 (UTC)

Sales data
Hello,
It is unclear to me why you reverted the physical sales (as per Gaon Chart) which i made on 25 (Adele album), when it's a yearly/monthly sales data of South Korea.
You gave WP:SYNTH as a reason, when WP:What_SYNTH_is_not#SYNTH is not numerical summarization states that it's not synth if you combine sales (by basic math).
I even asked in Teahouse if it's ok to add sales, and i got a reply that, yes i can add.
So my question, where is the problem? Kleool (talk) 09:51, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Kleool, that is the exact reason we should not be using SYNTH by summarizing monthly cycles like this. We do not know exactly when the GAON cycle starts, or ends and unless it is explicitly mentioned we are not reporting the correct value. That's why we go for a concrete source reporting the total sales (like how Billboard, Music Week, OCC, ARIA, Nielsen does) and do not combine weekly sales to come to a summation. —IB [ Poke ] 09:56, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- South Korea's Gaon Chart does not publish fancy articles about foreign act sales. And most of the ref's i used weren't monthly cycle, but yearly sales. If the word "mothly" is such a taboo, it's possible to just leave data from monthly chart out.
- Also, you used "we don't know"? You might as well might need to throw out all the sales data from South Korean act pages, because most of them use Gaon Chart as references. Furthermore, various Madonna albums have had these kind of Gaon references for years (both monthly and yearly), but i don't see them being removed Kleool (talk) 10:51, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- Please show me where you see that the Madonna articles have used a synthesis of sales from different months to come to an accumulated conclusion. —IB [ Poke ] 11:04, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- MDNA for example. Standard edition number taken from March, deluxe version from April. That's the way gaon chart works. It publishes monthly album sales data (for specific month of specific year) in format "sales this month/sales this year thus far" and then a yearly summarization of sales for that specific year after year ends. If you'd just look at the chart... It's not that hard or mysteriousKleool (talk) 11:59, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- Good that you pointed it out. A classic case of WP:SYNTH violation. —IB [ Poke ] 15:52, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- you keep insisting it's WP:SYNTH. Is there a 3rd party which could evaluate this and give their opinion, and who'd you'd listen to if the person decided differently? Kleool (talk) 16:31, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- You can ask anyone in the Music Wikiproject or the regular editors who edit music articles. —IB [ Poke ] 08:23, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- Someone replied to my question on whether summation is WP:SYNTH on WP:WikiProject Albums here - Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Albums#Gaon Chart Sourcing. Replier aggreed that summation is not WP:SYNTH as per WP:What_SYNTH_is_not#SYNTH is not numerical summarization, but stated that it should be combined "month-by-month or year-by-year basis". Can i add the gaon sales for Adele's (and other musician) album(s) now? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kleool (talk • contribs) 08:50, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

CelebMix
Hey IB, CelebMix is an unreliable source, right? Pretty sure I've seen you (or maybe it was SNUGGUMS) talk about it before. Another user added it to None of My Business and I tagged it (without removing it outright) only because I was not sure if the content from it could be found somewhere else or if I'm imagining it was another source I've seen a couple editors remove/talk about before. Live to Tell and WP:LISTGAP
Hi IndianBio, the relevant part of WP:LISTGAP is the final example in the "Multiple paragraphs within list items" section. Whether the list type is a definition list, ordered list, or unordered list, writing markdown in that particular way creates a new list every time you switch to a new list type, like this:
* Foo # Bar * Foo # Bar
The above code outputs four lists, and therein lies the accessibility problem; that is specifically what we need to avoid.
You can nest lists like this, though:
* Foo *# Bar
That creates a single list, and is accessible. That aside, what is it about the {{Track listing}} template that you don't like? How did you come to the conclusion that the format on the page now is standard or desirable? —Ringbang (talk) 21:01, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Ringbang: my issue is not with the addition of the {{tracklist}}. My issue is you did it completely wrong and then tried to remove reference from it giving a bad excuse. The issue is following a standard across all music articles and this is the format assumed (if you check). If you want to implement the tracklist template then do so across all articles, else leave a particular standard formatting. And you are getting the definition of a song/album tracklist as wrong. It is supposed to create multiple list with the formatting because each track list is individual. Your incorrect way of merging everything together under a simple template does not work, because commercial release of every product has different id to be associated with. As I said, please go to WP:SONGS wikiproject if you want to achieve consensus. —IB [ Poke ] 08:41, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

My reverted edit to "Lady Gaga"
Hello! :)
I saw you told me to not insert "unpublished information or your personal analysis into an article" like I did with the net worth of Lady Gaga.
Here's the several sources I found before to place the "300 millions" info.
https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/singers/lady-gaga-net-worth/ https://www.gobankingrates.com/net-worth/celebrities/lady-gaga-net-worth/ https://wealthygorilla.com/lady-gaga-net-worth/
For the Month/year of the estimation I placed the current ones since these sites could change their estimations tomorrow but the time mark would indicate that the infos inserted date from the current month/year.
Could my change be replace now you see it was published info? :/ Also if there's a penalty coming with the warning could that be removed as well since I didn't insert unpublished info' or personal analysis?
Have a good day! :)
