History of Prussia
[edit]Thanks for the book tip: I've heard good things about that one, but I still haven't gotten around to seeing it. If you are also interested in former states, perhapes you might be interested in checking out WP:WPFC (the Prussian WikiProject is largely my test project for things that are needed for WPFC).
No problem with the infobox - once the auto-categorisation is set up and the variables made available in both languages, then it should be finished. - 52 Pickup 15:54, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Just importing everything from the German wiki "as is" will be fine for most fields, but some things will always need a bit of extra user input:
- The translation of some text fields that could never be automated (eg. Gliederung and Lageplanbeschreibung).
- The mayor entry is normally wikilinked - that should probably be undone. The template checks automatically for the presence of an entry with that name.
- One should also look out for any unusual wikilinking in the Partei field, particularly if a minor party is used.
- The extra information from Infobox Town DE should also be preserved: notably the source URL for the population data (the wikilinking from this URL should be removed)
- Add a representative photo of the location, if possible. If there is a good picture for this, it will probably be already on the page somewhere.
- And when/if the auto-categorisation works, the manual "Cities/Towns... in ..." categories at the bottom of the page should be deleted. This way, any false categorisations that are currently in place will be undone and corrected by the infobox.
- If there is anything else that needs to be done, post it on the template talk page - we should probably come up with a set of instructions for those who want to import infobox data from the German wiki. - 52 Pickup 18:26, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
translation tag
[edit]There is a lot available, and I tend to forget most of it. In fact I was reminded that there is another template {tl|german}} which does a similar thing. Anyway it is placed on the bottom of the article, like the EB1911 or similar attribution tags. Agathoclea 18:58, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Asking for assistance
[edit]Would you be interested in assisting on the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 that will be taking place on February 22 to March 4 in Sapporo in terms of information about the area that might benefit this article? Please advise. Chris 01:42, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Possible renaming of Wikipedia:WikiProject Saints
[edit]It has been suggested that the above named project be renamed Wikipedia:WikiProject Christian saints. Please express your opinion on this proposed renaming, and the accompanying re-definition of the scope of the project, here. John Carter 17:12, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit]
The Germany WikiProject Newsletter Issue I - May 2007 | |
This is the first issue of WikiProject Germany's newsletter. The newsletter is intended to help all members of the project to keep up with new developments and coordinate new collaborative efforts. |
Be creative! If you have an idea, just suggest it on the project talk page (don't forget to watchlist it).
|
All of our B-Class, Start-Class and Stub-Class articles now need to be checked whether they meet any of the B-Class criteria. This is a major effort, and we need your help! If you want to help, but don't know how, please post at the project talkpage.
A task force dedicated to creating and improving articles on all German cities and municipalities has been started and is looking for help. |
This newsletter was delivered by Kusma using AWB to all members of WikiProject Germany. If you do not want to receive this newsletter in the future, please leave a note at the talk page of the Outreach department so we can come up with a better spamlist solution. Thank you, Kusma 11:56, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Bertrada of Prüm
[edit]The only reference to her as child of Hugobert that I've seen is the Hugobert Wikipedia article, which led me to believe it to be incorrect. However, I have misgivings about the decision at this point so I will revert it Furius 05:41, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
