Bodom

[edit]

The anons have just admitted to being the same person, and have just admitted to vandalising the article even though all the positions have diffs [1]. Now i ask for something to be done, as this is a clear violation of WP:VANDAL, WP:CITE and WP:SOCK. Ley Shade 12:37, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just posted on Tonys talk and then realised you posted on mine, which is a bastard in its own right ¬¬
Anyways, im not asserting all the anons are the same ones, just the 220 ones. And i havent violated my parole, as ive been asking you for help, and ive averted reverting that page. WP:HMM members already know the article is a target for vandalism, and im not responsible if they revert the 220 anons, much the same as im not responsible when the same 220 anons vandalise the Cradle of Filth article either. deleting images

[edit]

I uploaded a few images I was intending for several articles but won't be using now. I'm unsure of how to go about a deletion or purging process in order to rid these images from Wikipedia and was wondering if you could offer a hand. Thanks for any info you can offer!--Adrift* 19:34, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What happens if i do nothing at all? Will a bot tag it eventually do you think? I just don't want it to look bad on my part if i don't do anything.--Adrift* 20:03, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sock Puppets

[edit]

Sorry for bugging you again. I've read the information on Wikipedia:Sock puppetry, but it doesn't really give me a lot of info on what to do if you suspect someone(s) of sock puppetry that may be fairly disruptive. I suspect that these users User:67.190.163.11, User:Keodrah, User:Keodrah2 User:Darkmoth and possibly User:Miamibreaksgirrl are socks. Miamibreaksgirrl recreated a deleted article on post goth under the new heading Post-goth, which was subsequently speedy deleted. Keodorah has removed AfD tags from his articles, called other users Trolls and Gnomes (odd that), and along with Darkmoth have left very bizarre rants on peoples talk pages as well as article talk pages (in the case of the Darkmoth persona, usually under silly revolutionary-like treatises). They've all been involved in a series of articles that surround an amatuer writer/musician named Dimitri Spanoa who's claim to fame is a Myspace page. They've written articles on the aforementioned post goth, as well as space industrial, Urban Goth, Urban Art, Gothitech, etc., and odd additions to the articles on Moths and Surrealism. All of which have either been deleted or are about to be deleted for being either vain promotions for Moth/Spanoa's music projects and website or for being uncertifiable, non-notable, and generally vague. Aside from being a bit goofy, this user(s) doesn't seem to be incredibly disruptive, however I'd think it's important if someone at least kept an eye on this user/s.--Adrift* 02:46, 26 May 2006 (UTC)--Adrift* 02:48, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deathrocker arbitration

[edit]

I think I will just put them both on revert parole and let them self-destruct. I know your suggestions are well thought out, but I don't see much future for either of them. Fred Bauder 01:32, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This guy's making big, controversial changes to several coaster articles, could you look into it?

[edit]

http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&target=69.161.152.109

He's making a lot of changes, like changing every instance of "rollback" in the Kingda Ka article to "shortshot" and calling Top Thrill Dragster a "Teracoaster" rather than a "Stratacoaster". He's also saying that Bolliger & Mabillard worked for Giovanola, not Intamin. I'm trying to investigate all this, but I'll probably need some help. Thanks in advance. [edit]

Hi. I'm afraid Leyasu has continued to use anonymous IP's to avoid their block reverting numerous users perfectly good edits with no reason, could you sort it out please?[2]

I asked that he join me on the articles talkpage to discuss [3] but alas he hasn't. Although the Arbitration case has not closed yet, he seems to pushing that I break a "revert parole", though I'm not on it yet (as the case hasnt closed), regards. - Deathrocker 14:06, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for looking to sort it out. It is exceedingly difficult to maintain “good faith” with him. As soon as one of the IP’s disappears, another shows up with exactly the same edit summary style, and the same control of certain articles, it becomes very tiresome. - Deathrocker 16:11, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, well; even earlier today Tony blocked a new sockpuppet of Leyasu,[4] which was been used by Leyasu to revert the same old articles to his last version before the current block took place. He certainly doesn't seem to be showing any signs of reform, especially in regards to block evasion. - Deathrocker 07:55, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A short Esperanzial update

[edit]

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Children of Bodom revisited

[edit]

Hello. I am contacting you, since you have dealt with the Children of Bodom article previously. There is a new problem with the article: IP users keep on adding certain songs (Iron Maiden's "The Trooper", Europe's "Final Countdown" and Iron Maiden's "Powerslave") in the list of covers played by Children of Bodom. There seems be no evidence that CoB has actually performed these songs. (In the official CoB page the band has explicitly denied that they have recorded The Trooper or Final Countdown, and this is also mentioned in the article.) Those IP users edit every time from a different IP and do not edit wikipedia except for changing the Covers list.

I have tried the following things: - Reverted those additions and explained the revert in the talk page with references, asking for sources if they add songs into the covers list. - Added a remark in the page code just before the covers list asking people to provide sources if the change the list. - For real covers, added names of the albums where the covers have been released. (Hoping in vain that the anonymous IP users would follow suit.) - Asked for references in the talk pages of the IP users. (no answers)

None of these has helped, and I have run out of ideas about how to deal with the problem. What should I do?Punainen Nörtti 11:32, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Last Dance

[edit]

Howdy. Since ive worked with you before, i was hoping you could help me out with a disambiguation problem Im having with the band The Last Dance. When you enter The Last Dance in the search area here it pops up a page for the album The Last Dance from the pop group "Steps". Its only when you look up "The Last Dance Band" that you find the band called The Last Dance. Any help you can offer is much appreciated.--Adrift* 22:43, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nick Markakis

[edit]

It is not pronounced KAY. The second A is said the same as the first A. Just as you would say Alpha. Just another European name that has been bastardized by the North American public.

I think the Greek language page has the proper pronunciation.

Talk to User:Leyasu

[edit]

Dear Idont, this isn't a heavy problem. Simply, I'm too quick to anger - in this case, when I hear about someone which hates hip hop music. I've tried to stay cool since a month, so I'll refrain to attack Leyasu and others again. User:Egr, 18/7/2006

Excuse me, but is Leyasu a male or a female? User:Egr, 24/7/2006
