Deletion

[edit]

I'd say your best bet is to visit WP:VFD/Yesterday for a large sample of articles that are deemed unsuitable, and how the process goes. Many controversies are resolved there. Radiant_>|< 15:16, Jun 24, 2005 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the tip; Amazing how fast questions are answered here. No wonder Wikipedia is addictive to so many. ;). --Iani 15:20, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Second Life

[edit]

Hi! It is good to see fellow Second Lifers in the Wikipedia :) If you have need for some more free fun ask me in game for a couple landmarks hehehe. Sarg 23:22, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just FYI, I have suggested on this page that the article is a dictionary definition that would be more appropriate for Wiktionary. It seems unlikely that the article could be expanded, since there is already a thorough Glacier article, but I wanted to give you a heads-up. --Russ Blau (talk) 20:40, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know how to make a link from Wikipedia to wictionary? Yes. [[wiktionary:gletscher|]] will look like this: gletscher. Don't leave out the | character or you'll see wiktionary:gletscher. --Russ Blau (talk) 14:01, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Did that, and checked now, it is in Wiktionary. Wiktionary (not wictionary ;-) ... My mistake too. Iani 21:35, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Twittervision

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Twittervision requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ukexpat (talk) 21:41, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bruno

[edit]

Thanks for the sentence about the Giordano Bruno statue. Next time I'm at Potsdamer Platz I must see it, take a few photos, maybe put one into the Wikipedia article (if someone else doesn't get there first!) Tonythepixel (talk) 09:42, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination for deletion of Antigua Superyacht

[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to inform you that I nominated the above article for deletion because it did not seem notable, and since you started the article, I think that if you could post a reason why it is notable, or additional information on the topic, perhaps it could be saved and turned into a neat article. Sorry for the trouble! Althena (talk) 02:38, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Iani! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 198 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Geoffrey Douglas Madge - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Lilian Lee - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The article Royal McBee has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence this company passes WP:GNG/WP:NCOMPANY. It sold and serviced an old computer that is notable.. rather extreme failure of WP:NOTINHERITED?

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
