Question about Steven Universe and infoboxes

[edit]

Why have you been putting screenshots from Steven Universe episodes in the infobox, and moving the promotional art to the rest of the article? Harryhenry1 (talk) 03:37, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

[edit]

Thanks for creating Waiting for Dutch, Hyliad!

Wikipedia editor Diannaa just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

WP:TVPLOT calls for individual TV episodes to have a plot description of no more than 400 words; yours is 822 words, so it needs to be trimmed.

Hey! I love your work with "The Law of Vacant Places" and "The Law of Non-Contradiction". For what it's worth, I added a list of Thaddeus Mobley's books to List of fictional books from non-print media. Feel free to make any appropriate edits. I understand the citations might be a bit dated given the few weeks since. Either way, keep up the great work!-🐦Do☭torWho42 (📼) 10:31, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to let you know that I've partially revised your edits to Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age. The latter game's plot follows the story of the first game; they do not take place concurrently or at the same time. --haha169 (talk) 06:06, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

[edit]

Hello, Hyliad. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Pacifisticuffs, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Booklet (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Request reason:

I am using ExpressVPN for reasons unrelated to Wikipedia. I have been editing on the site for some years now, and would like to continue. Before, I would turn off ExpressVPN to be able to edit Wikipedia, but now, even when it is turned off I am still being blocked for "using a web host or colocation provider", so I would like my IP to be authorized for editing. My I.P. is 185.104.185.65. Thank you.

IP block exempt

[edit]

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked (through the use of CheckUser) periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. -- zzuuzz (talk) 19:04, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:11, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Damon Runyon's short story "Dancing Dan's Christmas" is a fun read if you have the time. Right from the start it extols the virtues of the hot Tom and Jerry

This hot Tom and Jerry is an old-time drink that is once used by one and all in this country to celebrate Christmas with, and in fact it is once so popular that many people think Christmas is invented only to furnish an excuse for hot Tom and Jerry, although of course this is by no means true.

No matter what concoction is your favorite to imbibe during this festive season I would like to toast you with it and to thank you for all your work here at the 'pedia this past year. Best wishes for your 2020 as well H. MarnetteD|Talk 11:34, 18 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Banks and Bayley

[edit]

Hi, Hyliad. Thanks for your editions improving the articles. However, I think we should came to an agreement.

1, the event in the infobox. According to WP:EASTEREGG, we can't include the name of the event hidden behind the date.

2, t's about the titles. As far as I know, we include the titles when the wrestlers form an active tag team, not sporadic matches (like WHC and ECW titles for Brothers of Destruction). Reading Cagematch, Banks and Bayley just worked on house shows as part of a trio, so it's hard to say they were working as a tag team, most like two wrestlers who worked together. If Mick Foley has a trios match with The Rock, doesn't mean they're the Rock n Sock connection. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 15:20, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The file File:The Man Who Killed Don Quixote - Teaser image.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free movie poster being used in a decorative manner in The Man Who Killed Don Quixote#Filming whose use fails WP:NFCC#8. The poster is not being used for primary identification purposes at the top of the article as its non-free use rationale is claiming (there's another non-free poster being used for that reason) and it isn't itself the subject of any sourced critical commentary in the article; so, there's really no context for non-free use as required by NFCC#8.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:57, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
