Request reason:

I am now aware of the paid editor protocols and the procedure for disclosing a conflict of interest. I do, in my capacity as an employee at Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area, receive payment for creating and editing the Wikipedia page.

I have not been directed to create the page for any promotional or advertising purpose. The intention behind the creation of this page was exclusively to report cultural and natural history, as well as park features, as a resource for the general public.

If I am unblocked, I fully intend to rewrite the article to remove any wording that could be construed as promotional, and all future contributions will be worded as to be unbiased, and cited thoroughly with vetted sources.

I have chosen a new username to avoid this direct conflict and hope to be able to edit again soon, as well as to contest the Speedy Deletion nomination against the page. Having disclosed my ties to the subject in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure, and because the intended purpose of the article is in the interest of the general public and follows the intended purpose of Wikipedia, the Hollister Hills Wikipedia page should not be deleted.

Decline reason:

You seem to be using Wikipedia as a substitute for a website owned and operated by the State of California, which would be the correct place for a state employee to tell the world about the recreation area. Wikipedia is primarily interested in what independent reliable sources state about a topic, not what it(or its representative) wants to say about itself. In this situation we usually first want to see an interest in editing in areas unrelated to a conflict of interest, so the user can demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of relevant policies, before permitting them to contribute in the area of their COI- are there any topic areas other than this state property that you are interested in editing about as a general contributor?
