Interstate 110 (Florida)
I appreciate your efforts at accuracy on the exit list, but I don't feel the source (even though it is FDOT) is accurate or thorough. First, I broke down Exit 1 into its component ramps (to specify which exit numbers belong to which streets). Just because this is not listed like on the FDOT exit breakdown doesn't make it inaccurate, only more thorough. Secondly, the mileage cannot possibly be 0.750, even though that is what FDOT states. Exit 1 is at the terminus of the freeway. The end of a road cannot be 3/4 of a mile down a road. I believe it should at least be left blank rather than quoting a dubious mileage.
Exit 3 (Cervantes Street) is actually US 90 and US 98. Are exit lists only allowed to show what is actually listed on the freeway sign? --Perimeter285 21:30, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Succession box glitches
I have noticed some succession box glitches with succession boxes at Baseball players such as Barry Bonds. Please check any other boxes you may have edited.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 16:37, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
I-10 in Texas
Since SH 178 isn't signed on I-10, shouldn't it be in parentheses? I'm also not sure that minor overlaps should have full rows; I asked about it at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (exit lists). --NE2 13:30, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
use of badname
- When you tag a file with {{badname}}, like Image:Brevard County Route 511 FL.svg, please replaced all uses of it first. You can check the usage of an image by using the checkusage tool [1]. Thanks. Digon3 18:43, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- There was a huge backlog at that time (500 images!). Now there is only about 150 images. If you replace uses of it, I will delete it. Digon3 18:43, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- Never mind, its already been deleted. Digon3 18:45, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
State Highway shields
There was a discussion at the Village Pump on Commons, and what came out of that was that states are required by federal law to conform to the MUTCD. That means that states must release state highway shields into the public domain. (→O - RLY?) 18:28, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Your comment on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pennsylvania Route 39 (1920s)
Can you please comment on my proposal to move it to Pennsylvania Route 19 (1920s) or merge it into Pennsylvania Route 5 (1920s)? Thank you. --NE2 17:23, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Texas 1920s highways
There were 25 listed in the newspaper article: [2] Other contemporary sources also show 25: [3] --NE2 23:05, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- The map also has other differences; I mention that at the top of that page. This appears to have been an earlier plan. --NE2 00:05, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Editing style guideline
Just a quick nitpick point on style/courtesy: If someone makes a change to one of your edits, and you subsequently edit the article to include the information from the previous person, it's not a "revert" as you commented here: diff

Sir
I'm not any way compromising the integrity of Wikipedia.
I'm trying to inform about Nevada state county highways, and I created its own wikiproject with templates for it, that is all.Coolrocketdude3444 00:26, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
SR 589 in Florida
Thanks for making the neccessary cleanup improvements to the State Road 589 article, including cleaning up the cluttered exit table. I no longer had the time or the motivation to cleanup the table and was going to put up a post for someone else to assist me with the cleanup. That post never materialized however. Anyways, thanks again. Wslupecki 14:08, 2 August 2007 (UTC).
I don't think this is a good way to do it; it requires a separate template for every county of every state. What was wrong with the old method? --NE2 19:33, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- The problem was either with Template:Infobox road/FL/link County, which has an extra (Florida), or - if that's needed - then we shouldn't use county1 in Florida. --NE2 19:41, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- Actually there's probably a better way: pass the county argument through to the template, and then use parserfunctions in Template:Infobox road/FL/link County so if there's a county argument it adds it. Do you see any problems with this? --NE2 19:44, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
OK, let me know if you run into any problems. --NE2 20:07, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

US 90 in Texas
The reason "Needed-class" isn't working correctly is that US 90 in Texas exists as a redirect to US 90. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 02:35, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

An important letter
Dear roads editor,
You may have noticed some changes at WP:USRD lately. Some of them, like the cleanup templates and the stub templates, have been astounding and great. Unfortunately, others have been disturbing.
This has become evidenced by the departure of a few prominent editors at USRD, a few RFC's, and much fighting among USRD editors.
After the second RFC, many of us found the opportunity to take a step away from Wikipedia for a while--as a self-imposed wikibreak, or possibly on vacation.
The result of such introspection was that many of us were placing ourselves in a "walled garden" and on a self-imposed pedestal of authority over the roads department. Also, we were being hostile to a few users who were not agreeing with us.
In fact, IRC has been the main incarnation of this "walled garden." Decisions have been made there to conduct grudges and prejudices against a few valued USRD users with poor justification.
For this, we have come to apologize. We have come to ask your forgiveness.
In addition to this, we hope to work as one USRD team from now on and to encourage cooperation instead of the promotion of interests.
All users are welcome to collaborate on IRC, the newsletter, or anywhere else at USRD.
In the future, please feel free to approach us about any issues you may have.

Request for image category has changed - Can you fix?
Request for images of Texas highways used to be in "Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Texas state highways". Now they are showing up in "Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Texas". Would you be able to fix this and get the images back into the sub-category? I don't know enough about the template syntax to fix. Thanks -Nv8200p talk 20:00, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Missing image Image:Osceola County Route 532 FL.svg
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Osceola County Route 532 FL.svg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Osceola County Route 532 FL.svg is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Osceola County Route 532 FL.svg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. CSDWarnBot 21:03, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Please do not revert my fix. I provided a source - [4] - that Texas considers U.S. Highways to be part of the state highway system. --NE2 14:23, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- AASHTO approves the numbering. TxDOT maintains it. It's both a state highway and a U.S. Highway. What's so hard to understand? --NE2 14:32, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- What do you mean by "give up"? Will you stop reverting my corrections? --NE2 14:33, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- You need to communicate if you want to deal with Wikipedia disputes. If you are not willing to communicate, you should not revert. --NE2 14:37, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Although retiring may be the best option if you can't deal with disagreements, I'm not saying you should leave Wikipedia. --NE2 14:41, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
I regret seeing you go. You've been a great contributor for a long time. Your contributions will be missed. Of course, we hope that you choose to return. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 18:19, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Arizona-Specific Interstate Shields
Thanks for creating the Arizona-specific versions of Interstate shields (as seen on their respective pages), but I do have one minor comment:
The layout details for the Arizona Interstate shield with state name (ADOT sign code M1-1a) is not in the Federal Standard Highway Signs book, but is in the ADOT Manual of Approved Signs. The ADOT M1-1a design calls for a numeral height that is 41.7% of the shield height (i.e. 10" numerals on a 24" shield); however, your images seem to use a slightly smaller numeral (apx. 33% of shield height). When you have the time & inclination, you might want to look at adjusting the numeral height on your images to be more consistent with the Arizona M1-1a sign design. Enjoy your Wikibreak! USRD Inactivity check and news report
Hello, Holderca1. We had a few urgent matters to communicate to you:
- Please update your information at Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Participants, our new centralized participant list. Those who have not done so by October 20th will be removed.
- There are important discussions taking place at WT:USRD relating to whether WP:USRD, WP:HWY, or the state projects should hold the "power" in the roads projects.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:183A toll road.png
Thanks for uploading Image:183A toll road.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:30, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Right now, this is adding a br to all rows. It will be hard to fix this, and there are other problems such as dealing with 20px and 25px shields. It's a good idea, but I don't think it will work without serious coding. --NE2 21:06, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think it will be possible to know what size it needs to be; you'll have to hard-code which states use which width, compare the number to see how many digits, and hard-code lettered prefixes and suffixes. --NE2 21:27, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Well remember that you'll have to deal with cases like SH|195|US-Bus|80 and US-Bus|80|SH-Bus|195; the former needs calculation of width and the latter needs both plates. --NE2 22:40, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
And there's still a spacer above non-bannered rows:
--NE2 19:47, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Also remember about redirects, like US-BUS/BU, and any others that someone may care to create. --NE2 18:31, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
Minor issue: there's no space after the shield or name here:
To I-295 south (Clearview Expressway) / Bell Boulevard
--NE2 18:54, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
Found where that came from, spaces are hard to see when you are paring things down, checking a few more:
To I-295 south (Clearview Expressway) / US 1 / Bell Boulevard
To I-295 south (Clearview Expressway) / US 1 / NY 2 / Bell Boulevard

HELP with Template:jct
I am working on List of state routes in Tennessee and for some reason the function stopped working. It displays #ifeq:Template:Infobox road/TN/shield US[broken anchor]Template:Jct/shieldTemplate:Jct/shieldstate=TN Template:Nowrap #if:US #if:TN #if:TN #if:Sevierville but I checked multiple times and this is how I input the function: {{jct|state=TN|US|411|US|441|TN|35|TN|71|city1=Sevierville}}. The next function only shows Template:jct. I'm confused and was hoping you might be able to assist me.
Thanks! Taliesin duomo (talk) 18:20, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- It looks like {{jct}} has been used too many times on the page. From the HTML source code:
<!-- Pre-expand include size: 2047992/2048000 bytes Post-expand include size: 504512/2048000 bytes Template argument size: 182457/2048000 bytes #ifexist count: 0/500 -->
- What that means is that there's too many templates on the page, and that any subsequent templates from where it started breaking on down will not work and will be ignored. On a personal note, I don't believe including the shields on the page is a good idea - it adds a huge amount of bytes to the page with minimal gain. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 19:01, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- It also looks like {{convert}}, which takes up a lot of pre-expand include size because of the high number of unit converters in the template, is used a number of times there. That combined with the multiple uses of {{jct}} explains why it's breaking down. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 19:06, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice. I have went through and removed the jct template and the convert to conserve size. As far as the inclusion of the shields, I have reviewed other states and found the shields on those lists as well. Although, it will mean the Tennessee page will be larger than the other states, since it looks as though Tennessee is the only state that uses 2 different shields on the same route number.
