[edit]Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

[edit]Warning
[edit]{{subst:Uw-vandalism4|Bhojpuri language|I have already warned you multiple times for vandalising articles related to Bhojpuri. It was your final warning. Sarinami is just a dialect of Bhojpuri language with loan words from dutch or any other languages. Sarinami's sentence structure and vocabulary is from Bhojpuri language. You have repeatedly ignored my warning and disrupted the article. }} Adrikshit (talk) 09:26, 13 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, I'd suggest reading WP:VANDNOT and WP:HTSV, since you seem to be throwing this word around since your first reverts: [1], [2]. I also think you should stop with stating opinions as facts, like i've been saying in the edit summaries, Sarnami (and Caribbean Hindustani) is NOT a dialect of Bhojpuri, both are koiné languages, which you can find in multiple sources on those pages. You have tried several times to delete referenced content in the Caribbean Hindustani article often relating to any other influence than Bhojpuri on the langauge, which was unsourced and has been reverted by me and an other editor: [3], [4], [5], not to mention the threats and insults: [6], [7]. As for the Bhojpuri article regards to the content i changed, that was already explained in the edit summaries, I merely changed the phrasing to not make Fiji Hindi and Caribbean Hindustani seem like dialects and reverted these particular edits: [8] and [9], which where unsourced. I maybe shouldn't have reverted three times, so i won't continue after that and will disengage for now (only on the Bhojpuri page) , but retaliating without going into the arguments made and reverting several times, also isn't a solution: [10]. - Do you know the real meaning of koine language ? I bet you didnt.
- 'A koine language is A koine language is a common dialect that emerges when two or more dialects of the same language mix and simplify'.
- Its merely a dialect. You yourself dont speak amy of the language and dont know about it. Citing enthnologue as a source which dont differentiate in dialect & language. You shouldn't edit something which you dont know anything about. I have written explanation in this edit as well. You cant add dutch sources as well if there isnt any translation. I will suggest you to talk to actual linguistics instead of yapping in the articles.You dont know anything about languages and stop changing citation. Adrikshit (talk) 17:23, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, the keyword there is two or more, which Sarnami is a mixture of the various languages and dialects, which does indeed include Bhojpuri, but that isn't the only language that influenced it. I've said this before. Assuming I am unfamiliar with the subject is kind of a ad hominem argument don't you think ? Other language sources are allowed and in the case of Sarnami, there are way more sources available in Ducth. Using words like "yapping" and doing something like this:[11], also doesn't really help, stop with this ([12]) you have been warned: [13], [14]-Hermes Express (comment) 18:05, 14 January 2025 (UTC)

Unsourced assertions
[edit]Hello, I'm Ohnoitsjamie. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Bhojpuri language, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. OhNoitsJamie Talk 00:11, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
