WPPilot's modus operandi when writing for FC was to write solely for the FP section; he expected somebody else to write about the FAs. He cut and pasted from the relevant articles, sticking sentences together without attribution, and sometimes without any logic. This caused the ructions between him and Hafspajen. Pilot also managed to incense readers of FC by writing stuff which appeared to them to be sexist and racist; that's why I publicly disassociated myself from what he wrote. He also believed that he was responsible for the increase in readership. Hafspajen's unlikely to return to FP. Adam Cuerden attempted to defend WPPilot by attacking Drmies, as did Gamaliel. I'll leave you to fill in the rest of the jigsaw. Xanthomelanoussprog (talk) 19:54, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
- What did I write that you consider an attack on Drmies? I don't believe I have attacked him, nor did I agree with Adam's attacks on him. We would have been glad to attempt to address any of these alleged issues regarding WPPilot were they actually brought to our attention by you or Hafspajen or anyone else at the time. Gamaliel (talk) 20:01, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
- Okay, so I've read through your Arbitration request and I withdraw that assertion. Apologies. The alleged issues with WPPilot can be illustrated by the following quote: "You used to do the FA's and you vanished. I am only willing to do FP's and assumed that you would do the FA's but when you vanished and made it clear that your not willing to communicate then I did what I could to cover for your deficiencies. Your making the publishing of this harder for no reason. You are not the editor in charge yet your clearly dedicated to sabotaging my efforts. You are clearly good at picking apart my contributions, in spite of the fact that the publication readership is overwhelming increased over the last 4 issues." His style and his attitude were not obvious to you? Xanthomelanoussprog (talk) 21:24, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
- This has gone a bit astray; my intention was to give Go Phightins an indication of why FP is not getting produced on time; one contributor blocked, two are disheartened and one's got better things to do. Xanthomelanoussprog (talk) 21:34, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
- Everyone has a different style and sometimes they clash. This is why we were trying to get everyone in a chat room together to figure out how to resolve these differences in communication styles. Regardless, if this user was the source of interpersonal friction with other FC contributors, now that he is blocked why do these other contributors seem to continue to have problems with contributing? Gamaliel (talk) 21:50, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
- Well, the difference in communication styles has been resolved. You can ask Adam whether he'll continue with it; Hafspajen's had enough. Xanthomelanoussprog (talk) 22:13, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
- Adam's away at the moment for different reasons; I've been covering the FAs. Would you be able to do the FPs? I'm much less familiar with nominators and the process there. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 22:15, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

No EotW this week?
Hey B. Hope all is OK. I noticed there was no award presented this Sunday. How should we resolve? 1..Shortened week for Chris? or most simply 2..No Award this week. I lean toward 2. . Buster Seven Talk 17:25, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
- Crap. Come to think of it, I think this is the first time I have ever just flat-out forgotten to present an award. My real life has been rather busy the last few and will continue to be for the next several weeks. In fact, if we could find another regular presenter for the summer (June and July at least), that would be good, as I will be out of town several weeks then. I would say let's just skip it this week and pick up next. Go Phightins! 21:06, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
- Yea, picking up next week is fine and I can take over for the summer but you will need to give me clear, easy-to-follow instructions on how YOU do it. When Ive done it the few times in the past I've cut-n-pasted which I'm sure is not the easiest way. I would guess there is a template that is used. Now....if some other friendly stalker wants to take on the duties of presenting the EDDY each Sunday, including next Sunday, please, step up. The more faces that get involved behind the scenes, the stronger we are as a project. . Buster Seven Talk 00:09, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

Pix in LanCo
Last weekend I managed to photograph most of the remaining municipalities in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, but got rained out of Clay Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and missed Providence Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania by a few hundred yards! If you are in the area, you might shoot for Smithfield - you'd have to miss by several miles to get outside the township. If you don't go through LanCo anytime soon, I'm sure I'll pick these up as I go to York Co sometime this summer. Smallbones(smalltalk) 17:06, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

Hey, long time no see! Hope you're having a good summer. 2015 Philadelphia Phillies season is really hurting—it doesn't even have any info on Sandberg's resignation! I'm going to work on it, so let me know if you've got any ideas for it. -Newyorkadam (talk) 03:47, 30 June 2015 (UTC)Newyorkadam
- (talk page stalker) @Newyorkadam: I'm more of a data person (not prose), so I've been keeping up on the game-by-game information in addition to my other part of the Phillies pages: developing game logs for past seasons. Most recently I finished the 1970 game log and am now working on the 1969 season. While looking for information about rainouts, etc., it is interesting reading the newspaper accounts of the events of 1969 (moon landing, Chappaquiddick, Manson murders). Thanks for any work you can do to improve the 2015 page! Bob305 (talk) 16:07, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

Jake Diekman protection level
Hi, I notice in the prot log for Jake Diekman, the comment "adding semi-protection in addition to full protection to take effect upon expiry of full protection". It doesn't work like that, although it would be great if it did: any existing edit protection (in this case [edit=sysop]) is removed as soon as you set another level of edit protection (in this case [edit=autoconfirmed]) and click Confirm. So, the full protection which had been set to expire at 15:31, 30 July 2015 (UTC) was forcibly expired almost two hours early, at 13:36, 30 July 2015 (UTC). --Redrose64 (talk) 14:23, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
- Oops. I really thought I had seen that done and that it did work. Oh well, at this stage, semi-protection is likely more appropriate anyway. Go Phightins! 14:30, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
- Maybe you're thinking of a short-term full edit protection simultaneously with a longer-term pending changes protection, such as at List of highest-grossing Indian films. --Redrose64 (talk) 14:54, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
- Perhaps. Thanks for letting me know in any case. Go Phightins! 14:57, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

Naming convention for baseball lists
Assuming that you weren't planning on !voting, would you be able to assess the consensus at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Baseball/Archive 40#Poll for naming convention for list of leaders/champions and close the discussion. - No problem. I've also tried to drum up more participation, so a few more days works out perfectly.—Bagumba (talk) 20:53, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
DYK for Adam Morgan (baseball)
On 15 August 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Adam Morgan (baseball), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Adam Morgan uses one pitching technique his manager described as a "Bugs Bunny changeup"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Adam Morgan (baseball). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Pet peeve
I have been editing the 2015 Chicago Cubs season and related Cub articles since the beginning of the season. Except for a few minor additions to the game log and the player stats by other editors, I have been the lone editor since opening day. Today, a new editor made some drastic changes to the batting and pitching stats which, I think, were completely unnecessary and only created a confusing "look". I undid his edits. In plain English, It pisses me off that he/she makes such a drastic change to a statistical chart that has obviously been updated by someone for months and doesnt even bother with an "edit summary". I guess what I'm requesting from you is some good advice on how to proceed. In your estimation, do these changes improve the article? Was I right in "undoing"? Thanks, . Buster Seven Talk 17:46, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
- Well Buster, I am not sure they are as drastic as you seem to indicate -- he just added a games parameter, did he not? However, I do think that what you have been updating is the WP:BASEBALL consensus. In my personal experience, I try to make nice with any new sports editors ASAP as we need all the help we can get, so if you can converse with him on a talk page about a way he could improve the article, that might be worth doing. All the best, Ben (Go Phightins! 03:30, 15 August 2015 (UTC))
- My gripe was that he added pitchers to the batting stats. It added more data entry requirements...and since I am the one updating, I took offense. I tried to make nice but he removed my advice from his talk. I was stung by some bees in the backyard that day. Maybe that added to my anger. All better now. TC. . Your GA nomination of 2014 Philadelphia Phillies season

You may recall...
...back in November of 2013 we gave the EotW award to User:Jackson Peebles. A few days ago, someone created the article Jackson Peebles and only mentioned his untimely death. I was contacted via e-mail by his sister who attempted to edit the article but was rebuffed by the creator of the article and her additions were undone. Subsequent to her e-mail a request for deletion of the article has been initiated. I'd like to help but I'm not sure how or what to do. I would like to forward the e-mail to you or another administrator since I think the situation requires the care and concern of someone with more WP knowledge than I have as to how to proceed. Please advise, . Buster Seven Talk 22:31, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
