Fair use rationale for File:FLVDownloaderLogo32.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:FLVDownloaderLogo32.gif. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 22:43, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:FLVDownloaderMainWindowScreenshot.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:FLVDownloaderMainWindowScreenshot.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 20:47, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
- I went ahead and fixed the image per your comments, thank you. MBisanz talk 09:00, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Biorhythms Calculator
[edit]The article Biorhythms Calculator has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Lacks in-depth coverage in independent sources - WP:RS
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - 2/0 (cont.) 20:12, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of Biorhythms Calculator

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added such as to the page Biorhythm do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - 2/0 (cont.) 20:51, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- How am I to incorporate a reference to a web page that compares different biorhythm software? Clearly that section in the article lacks so much information on the subject! and why do you call my links spam? why do you deem a link to one biorhythm software (Universal Biorhythms) better than other (Biorhythms Calculator), by keeping the former and deleting the later? --George (talk) 22:52, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- Good point, thank you. - 2/0 (cont.) 23:04, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- Why did you remove product names and links altogether? I think it's not the way it should be! This is supposed to be an objective, factual, and modern encyclopedia. Biorhythm software is a major part of biorhythm application today! In fact software nowadays in the area of biorhythms is much more important than it used to be in the 80s when biorhythm were more popular. Thus simply mentioning it in one phrase generically does not suffice at all, in my opinion. Besides there is an enormous amount of articles that mention software and do include external links.
- Good point, thank you. - 2/0 (cont.) 23:04, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
PS - should this discussion be moved to the biorhythms page?
- That would be best - I copied your text from my talk to Talk:Biorhythm#Software and replied there. - 2/0 (cont.) 06:57, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
The article Batch Image Processor has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No indication is given as to how this software would meet the general notability guideline. Can't find any mention of the product by reliable secondary sources: just download sites with a standard manufacturer product description.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}

I have voiced my opinion at the afd page and would like to advice you to withdraw the nomination. It looks kind of pointy since you have basically copied a nomination about a different article. There is no way this Afd are going to result in anything else than a keep and it is just a waste of time to keep it open. Thanks and again welcome to wikipedia. 01:26, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- I disagree, and firmly believe it does not meet notability requirements.--George (talk) 23:19, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

List of Horizon episodes
[edit]Even if it isn't deletable under A7, I am not going to restore since it includes potentially libellous attacks on living people, and is written like a review, not just a list. Since it has no sources given, it is clearly WP:OR Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:22, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
- First of all, it is important to give a proper reason for deletion. Secondly, unless it's utter nonsense or example of some sort of vandalism, shouldn't the community decide whether or not an article should be deleted, after having discussed the issue for a week and arrived at consensus, as per WP:Deletion. Icannot even view the original article to judge for myself whether you are right or not. And even if it did lack sources, or was worded inappropriately, why not tag it accordingly and wait a few mionths? I am going to request an undeletion as per WP:Requests for undeletion.--George (talk) 15:19, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
- Just to summarize my response at WP:REFUND: This isn't something that we can handle over there; instead, it should go to WP:DRV. My two cents (which both parties are free to ignore as they wish)... from the reasons Jimfbleak listed, the only valid speedy reason would be the G10 issues. The article didn't fall under A7 by any stretch (and there's a lot of consensus against admins speedying A7s on sight), "written like a review" is not a deletion issue, and OR / unreferenced are not speedy issues. (Unreferenced was recently brought up as a potential speedy reason and shot down by consensus.)--Fabrictramp | talk to me 01:41, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
